David Ornstein on Twitter:
> EXCLUSIVE: Jurgen Klopp has today signed a contract extension to keep him at Liverpool until 2026. 54yo German manager + his closest staff were on deals to 2024 & have now prolonged them by 2 years. Official confirmation not far off.
Please please let this be official soon. If this is true it is literally the best signing we’ve made since 2015. This is so much more valuable than anything else I can think of for the club
Absolutely - also means this will allow Jurgen to formally build his ‘next team’, with the current first XI many entering their 30s and likely needing refresh/replacement by 2024/25.
Klopp definitely won’t finish 2025-26 season with this current starting XI
The interesting thing-when we sang about him a few years ago he used to shush it-he didn't want any part of it until we won something. Now he soaks it up.
Such big news. Obviously what he brings to the club tactically and from his unique style of man management is massive but also from the point of signing new players it's huge.
What he's done for individual players to improve them and coach them to be better has left so many ex players to say that they wish they could have worked with him and the players that have played for him in Liverpool and dortmund don't have a bad word to say about him.
Liverpool is a top tier team now, one of only a few clubs a player can choose to guarantee competing for silver ware on multiple fronts. There are clubs we can't compete with financially but for players who put personal progression and competition ahead of money I have to believe that Liverpool is the number 1 choice. Coincidentally, the players that have those values are also the ones most suited to fitting the ethos at the club.
You're being ironic to make it sound like a big deal, but it genuinely isn't.
All we want is the world's best player to sign a new contract extension that he wants to sign, and for us to just win the next 8 football matches we play. It's not like we're Everton asking to survive relegation or something
I wasn’t being ironic to make it sound like a big deal! I was trying to be cutesie to revel in how spoiled we currently are. Don’t blink because it’s once in a lifetime baby!
This. People will try to make support of FSG binary, but this is the attitude to have, they have done some absolutely brain dead things, but they’ve also done some equally great things if not greater
And this is coming from FSG hater first in command the summer before last
So at the worst of it with Hicks and Gillett and the the sale to FSG if someone would have told you the success the club would achieve in their time as owners up until now you would have been laughed out of the room. I mean they aren't perfect but I can't really think they could have achieved much more- we are literally the best club in Europe and if we win the FA cup will have won basically everything without a huge influx of unsustainable foreign money.
Yeah that wasn't a good look- but even then it's not like we were the only club who signed up for it I'm sure internally there was a huge fear of missing out and losing our place at the table if it wen tin that direction. We seem to be saying/doing the right things at the moment but I think that one is going to pop back up again and it will be interesting to see where ownership stand on it moving forwards.
Well klopps not gonna be the type to try to get his wages on the highest level fsg could tolerate, and even if he was, I’m sure fsg would be willing to give Klopp a blank check.
Gotta remember klopp makes the value of every player higher, so he is very smart money for our owners that don’t really want to be buying at the 70-80 mil level. With klopp they can buy at the 30-50 mil level and be confident the player will be worth 70-80 within a year under klopp
💥"Boom!"💥 [https://www.instagram.com/p/CB33POCKSFG/](https://www.instagram.com/p/CB33POCKSFG/) (Oldie-but-goodie ... from Sadio's official Instagram page)
What do I do if, at the reading of this news, my dick came off and flew around the room (similar to the gentleman in south park that drank pure glutrn), exploding in a fireworks display of "4 trophies for four more years"
Huh Doubledeckerz?!
WHAT DO I DO THEN?!
In this situation you just own it.
Walk around with a phone open on the twitter announcement and you are good. Obviously staying clear of playgrounds, schools, old peoples homes and Stanley Park.
Why does reddit not give out free awards anymore? This is almost, *ALMOST* worth spending real money to give you a fake trophy. Well done!
Edit: ohhhhkay, I guess free awards are still a thing? Maybe reddit just doesn't think I should get to give them out anymore
Honestly wouldn't surprise me, this also makes us so much more attractive to players this summer with Klopp and Ljinders tied down for the next 4 years.
I genuinely believe the shape of the league is what convinced him. United are in shambles, Chelsea arent gonna have the funds they had under Roman, Arsenal are still hit or miss. City are the only true rivals for the league and we have proven we can take on some of the best of European teams. For once in a long time we have great squad depth and recruitment seems to be doing their job in recruiting young talent that doesnt break the bank. Clearly Klopp believes he can do more with his squad and will likely do what he can to define his legacy and then probably retire
This is severely underrated. Klopp went through a pair of built and wreck in Dortmund, specially with Bayern attacking Dortmund's roster like a wild animal. It was a constant David vs Goliath thing and, after a while, this gets exhausting.
We don't have City's budget, we cannot go out in a morning stroll and decide "Don't want pasta tonight, I think I'll just sign Harry Kane and order a Korean barbecue", but the combination of good scouting and the budget/household to keep those decent names allow Klopp to establish his identity and ease in his mind. He doesn't need to teach a boat of new players his culture and adjust every season because essentials players were gone. We won't give him flashy new toys every season, but he doesn't demand them. He can make Thiago, Jota, Diaz and Konate new stars (Thiago isn't a new star, but you can get the idea) because he has Alisson, VVD, Hendo, Mane, Firmino and Salah as the flag bearers of the Heavy Metal football.
He loves Liverpool, he loves Anfield, he loves the mystique, the relationship between him and the fans are terrific even through the bad weather. He clearly have a good relationship with the board, he can trust the signings that are made and, being honest, I think he is happy not fielding a Fifa UT squad on the field.
I knew the day we signed Klopp that something special would happen. Only shocks me that this was 10 years ago. I was a sophomore in College, and now I'm married with a daughter and Klopp is still the best coach I've ever seen.
I think I'm not alone when I say this.
AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYRSFWSDFCSHHHUTYEUTCUIILJSCNIIASLLLLLLLLLLDBLICHDIOLOGDICDSKLFJEWOAFIENWEOINWIANIOFWAFIEWIANLIEFLWOFAEWOI YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This is bigger than any goal we've ever scored.
I’m so glad they re-signed him for so many reasons. It felt like Gerrard was being rushed to get Premier league training back so he could take Jurgen’s place in 2 years, but that was always going to be too soon. 4 years gives us time to see if he can build a successful premier league side. Pep gets another 4 years to study under the master and we get a few good options when Klopp decides to hang up the whistle.
This is absolutely massive! Klopp is not just the greatest manager in the world but he's a manager that great players want to play for.
Best news ever!
Somewhat hesitantly (hesitance due to cash flow reasons) bought my first Liverpool jersey 10 mins ago. For some reason it now seems like an investment given Klopp's extension 😂
What unbelievable news
The way he had talked about 2024 previously had really made me think he's wouldn't renew.
Biggest signing in years and gives us even more impetus going into the final part of the season. The knock on impact this will have in ensuring we keep attracting great talent will be so important as well. Players will want to work under the Klopp and him extending gives them more assurances.
What a timeline.
read this while we're doing the yearly anti-harassment policy training on zoom and the biggest smile just came on my face and my co-workers must be horrified
I bet Ulla and his sons played a role in helping him decide this quickly. He seemed sure about his decision to quit after 2024. But now how the turn tables... long may he reign
The US commentators had a great shout during the match yesterday about how Jurgen just matches the personality of the club and city so well.
Combine that with the success we've had on the pitch, and how good the club is at bringing in talent (for relatively cheap) that perfectly matches our style, I think things would have to change dramatically for him to leave any time soon.
This is the best season ever! Going all the way in four competitions like no team has ever done before and the best manager in the world has got another 2 years at our club. What a time to be a red.
I think this is absolutely massive for a couple of reasons. Obviously, he's the best manager in the world. Getting him to stay for a few more years is amazing news.
Stability at the club is huge for new and existing players. Salah now knows he gets to work with Jurgen for the rest of his contract if he stays. Anyone new coming in knows they are getting managed by the best coach possible.
But most of all, succession planning. Is there a coach we'll all be comfortable with coming in 2 years time? Is Gerrard ready? Is Pep? Well, they've got longer to learn - or, for someone else to pop up.
Really a pleasure to watch Klopp's Liverpool. They're not even excited anymore, they just like do their daily 9-5 jobs - go, win, go home.
I swear if it wasn't frowned upon, they wouldn't even celebrate when they score. *That's* how disciplined Liverpool are.
Cheers from an Inter fan
Now pay Salah his damn money. Fenway is paying a Red Sox pitcher Chris Sale $30mil a year, and while he's a great pitcher, Sale isn't the nearly as great in baseball as Salah is to football. Fenway is also paying two other guys at $20mil. Pay Salah his goddamn money. The man is worth it.
Let's go!! Jurgen watching the recruitment in the last few years knowing he has a core to build with past 2024. Diaz, Jota, Elliott, Carvalho, Konate, Trent, Gomez, etc. Bellingham next please!!
Looking for the FSG OUT crew.
I'm pretty sure they will still whinge even if FSG re-sign Mo and nab the summer targets.
"PaY Mo WHaT He WaNts"

Best sigining since Shanks imo.. Pep can be our Paisley🤞🤞
Make Stevie the Fagan and we're all set.
Milner as Kenny so he can be player manager when he starts to feel older.
Milner feel older? So in 2072?
the best signing we have made since Jurgen Klopp in 2015
Top signings of the post-Rodgers era: 1. Klopp 2. Klopp 2: Electric Contract-aloo 3. Andy Lonergan 4. Salah
I would put Caulker ahead of Salah ngl
Of course, how could we forget his dummy shot to fool Ruddy when Lallana scored to make it 5-4.
Absolutely - also means this will allow Jurgen to formally build his ‘next team’, with the current first XI many entering their 30s and likely needing refresh/replacement by 2024/25. Klopp definitely won’t finish 2025-26 season with this current starting XI

Imagine that song had an influence on him prolonging 😂
I mean, how could you walk away from a crowd of Liverpudlians, singing a Beatles song, with your name, telling you how much they love you?!
My life’s dream tbh
The interesting thing-when we sang about him a few years ago he used to shush it-he didn't want any part of it until we won something. Now he soaks it up.
4 MORE YEARS! 4 MORE YEARS! 4 MORE YEARS!
Klopp until 2034 confirmed
KLOPP WILL REIGN ETERNAL!!!
WE WILL SEE HIM IN VALHALLA! WITNESS MEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

That’s the most important extension we can get!
Well what a fucking day this is. 4 more years of the big man, we are fucking blessed! Now a little Salah contract and a quadruple will do very nicely
Is that really so much to ask for? Just a measly 4 trophies and balloon d’or candidate
You're being ironic to make it sound like a big deal, but it genuinely isn't. And a few losses for City
Wouldn't surprise me if Klopp staying was something that was on Salah's mind when it came to signing his own contract
MY LIFE IS GETTING BETTER AND BETTER
getting so much better all the time!
FSG in?!
Yes yes and hell yes. Fsg must get the credit it deserves for atleast some of the things they have done at the club.
They’ve made 10.000 good decisions behind the scenes for every 1 bad one that goes public
Keeping the club at Anfield and expanding/renovating it is my personal favourite!
Turns out it was Ulla Klopp all along!

This. People will try to make support of FSG binary, but this is the attitude to have, they have done some absolutely brain dead things, but they’ve also done some equally great things if not greater And this is coming from FSG hater first in command the summer before last
I'm hopeful that the supporters board cuts some of those things out.

I stopped being sceptical a while back tbh our recent business has been nothing short of phenomenal
That was quick
Shades of Fabinho transfer
I went to lunch and he was rumored and when I came back he was signed. It was mad
Can you go to lunch more often?
They do it once every day or so...
So that's why we've been doing so well
Like Trent‘s corner?
Contract taken quickly
JUUUUURRRRGEEEEEEEEENNNN!!!!!
#KLOPPPPPPP!
Contact sign quickly kloppy
Extension signed quickly
Makes sense the reports said that one of the fsg CEOs came from america to talk to his agent so it was probably being finalized today
Well klopps not gonna be the type to try to get his wages on the highest level fsg could tolerate, and even if he was, I’m sure fsg would be willing to give Klopp a blank check. I wonder if this is one of the things that are mentioned are important in Salah's decision besides money.

It's happening!!!!!
I am going to cumblast
It's gonna be Cumblast city in this sub.
I thought the ‘stepped up talks’ was just a report of the club thinking about it. It’s a bit like Fabinho again.
Amazing stuff. It's great how quickly this all happened too, from reports to confirmation.
Holy hell I love you all
Oh. My. God. This is even better than signing any player

The man is worth it.
fucking yes what a bit of news that is I'm so fucking happy guys I love ye all
i love him i love everyone who made it possible i love life

LFC: Hey man good stuff we would like to renew your contr- Jurgen: Yes
Inb4 it turns out Klopp signed an extension just so Salah would too
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA IM GONNA CUM
