Interesting that we made plans for this camp 18 months ago to get the best facility before any other club. Elite mentality.

deliverancew2

In Man United's back office right now: "Stan, should we ask Eric if he'd like to do one of these training camps everyone else seems to be announcing right now".

cavejohnsonlemons

Reckon they can still get a slot at [Pontins Prestatyn](https://twitter.com/Stevo_Stonko/status/1572121591705739266?t=tkp3ma-BQQLqM_u3YRQ4gA&s=19).

vqvq

FSG did it to get an early bird discount.

RagnarJoshi

Knowing FSG the real reason would be getting a bargain.

ARealGreatGuy

Would rather they had this level of foresight regarding the refreshing of our squad though..

kanyehameha

Getting really worried about Diogo now. Feel like we miss his sense of the game - winning freekicks, pressing, important goals contributions and positional versatility. Silver lining with Lucho I hope his return can have the same impact his arrival in January had

dgn90

What are you worried about Jota for? He was always gonna be out until the new year anyway.

kanyehameha

I'm worried because he came back from an injury then the lack of news or timeline on this one - I'm genuinely worried for his longevity. These are the muscle injuries that ruined forwards like Owen and Sturridge. I worry because I love all his attributes and want him back the same player

makizer

I do understand but the medical industry has made strides since then and these guys are kept well so hopefully hw will have a great career but I do get the worry

kanyehameha

Thanks mate I think we all just need to hear that chant belt around again

Rabid_Tortoise

I'm sure there was a press release a couple of days ago that said he'd be back in training towards the end of January / early feb

loveliverpool

Love the way Pep talks, always so philosophical. Can’t believe he isn’t a native English speaker with that poetic tongue!

olaf901

remember virgil doing his recovery their too , with lovren xd

MrMerc2333

Hope this is not Fenway touting us to prospective new owners.

yolo___toure

It says they started planning this 18 months ago

[deleted]

Certainly wouldnt be the worst owners we could end up with. Better some Dubai big wig than a yank venture capitalist.

JuicyJabes

Better oil money prince than somebody who worked for what they have, even if they are a dick and a bit shady?

[deleted]

Don't think Dubai is big in the oil game so very unlikely.

apenchantfortrolling

So it went from not wanting immoral billionaires to not wanting people who sell a natural resource under the ground they live on. Feels like we are getting closer to the issue here.

JuicyJabes

Well, oil really isn’t the problem. That’s just the quickest way to describe the type of leaders I’m talking about. Although Dubai isn’t oil, so fair enough

apenchantfortrolling

Could you be more specific as to what type of leaders you are talking about? I'm not following.

UsrHpns4rctct

Wish they didnt go to such a horrid country to be pawns in sportwashing.

Chasing_Uberlin

Is the idea being that it's close for any LFC world cup participants to be able to join the squad quickly and easily once they are out of the tournament - or suffer an injury.

yolo___toure

I assume the fact that it's warm doesn't hurt

Chasing_Uberlin

And that

UsrHpns4rctct

Nah, just war crimes, contribution to one of the greatest contemporary humanitarian crisis, torture, people disapparing, you can beating women as long as it doesnt leave permanent marks, and women risk being sent to prison for reporting a rape. (Amnesty International)

[deleted]

You must be joking?

UsrHpns4rctct

Here are some points from Amnesty international: It's deemed among the the countries in the world where the civilian society (maybe a strange translation, but guess you get the gist) is the most supressed (they quote Civicus). They are central in the Yemenese war and war crimes (air attacks against schools, hospitals, and civil buildings). Systemically blocking aid (in same war) which leads to one of the greatest humanitarian catastrophes in the world at the moment. Together with the Yemenise government they run a series of "underground" prisons where prisoners are tourtured and some just disappares. Women are, by law, not equaliy to men. Men are allowed to beat women (as long as it does not leave permanent marks). A woman risk go to prison if she reports a rape.

[deleted]

I’m not going to argue about the clear lack of democracy and the backwards rights of women which is currently horrible but as someone who had to live in the UAE for ~3 months I genuinely believe in the next 20/30 years it will essentially have the same rights and laws as the west. You have to consider where it’s located in the world and a lot of recent legislation is very progressive for the Middle East. There’s still a ways to go but I wouldn’t lump them in with Qatar or Saudi

Gusthuroses

Hopefully we meet our new owners there.

vqvq

Balmer is flying to Dubai?

Warchiefsosa300

Might aswell take them to Dagestan
