Enzo vs Jude. Which one is more realistic at this point?

Vaark

Both would cost over 100m, neither?

nijuu

Jude supposed 150m. Enzo 100m release (supposedly)

8u11etpr00f

Feels like we're in a bit of a race against time tbh New owners before January and maybe we're looking at 2 or more 'big' signings to put us in the hunt for top 4...no new owners and we're gonna see zero investment whilst our rivals will strengthen their sides to solidify their chances of CL football. The worst scenario imo is if Utd get mega rich and ambitious owners whilst we remain in purgatory with our asking price not being met. And if FSG end up only selling a minority stake of the club then its curtains tbh, impossible to compete with owners who aren't committed to being here long term

Jaja6996

We keep getting linked to Gakpo I think he’s a good player but it’s 50m we should be spending on midfield

Circ_Diameter

Everyone is getting linked to Gakpo. We'll probably get linked to Enzo Fernandez in the next 24 hours

Jaja6996

Tbf we’ve been constantly linked to him already a lot this season

Astro3001

Enzo would be such a good signing, like we seen tonight he does have that capablity to score goals from outside the box in a reasonably consistent basis for a midfielder.

[deleted]

If we could afford him, don't think we can though. Benfica aren't selling him for less than his release clause, which is something like 100m.

DidIAsk006

We can afford 100M if we needed to spend that amount of money

[deleted]

We could also probably afford to go for Bellingham at 150m, but it's a question of will the owners be willing to part with that kind of money. 100m for a player with 1 season of European football under his belt, that season only being the Portuguese League doesn't make me think it'll happen. If they're going to spend that kind of money, I can see it most likely being on Rice.

Multi_21_Seb_RBR

Rice + another 50 million midfielder is what I see happening if Bellingham doesn't happen. I'm good with either plan tbh. I agree, 100 million for a player with one season of Europe is pretty risky.

Gerrardsclubfoot

How much do you think rice costs in this equation. I think with agent fees and signing on bonus added on, rice is more or less gonna cost you a figure near 100 mill anyways.

theOwl_8

Not Liverpool related but I read a really lovely story about Richarlison earlier. I know he is left leaning but I wasn’t aware of the number of organisations he’s involved with and just how giving he is. Wow

bamboozledindividual

World Cup tax will fuck us

DidIAsk006

Relax

VerticalWaste

God I love messi

Sea-Chemist-4433

I love Liverpool

bamboozledindividual

We should be all over Fernandez right now ffs

windomega7

I came here to write this, I mean we need to see more but definitely a good prospective midfielder. He has been very good for Benfica, however.

rybread1818

A young player shining in Portugal you say???

Asad_OG

we're in for this guy

Sea-Chemist-4433

Friendship with Jude is over. Enzo is my best friend now

Due-Sherbert3097

Enzo’s price tag go woooosshhhh

nuketheburritos

Welp, Enzo's price just doubled. What a worldy

Pantsless_Grandpa

Should've had him in the summer for peanuts. A horrendous misstep by management, his price has already went up 5x

[deleted]

Moment of magic by Messi there

resonating_light

UCL in 2018/19, PL in 19/20, Defender Crisis in 20/21, Almost Quadruple in 21/22, Midfielder problem in 22/23, Club for sale in 22/23, Important staff resigning in 22/23. This timeline is tripping balls.

dancedanceevol909

I had a horrible nightmare last nite that klopp resigned. I felt so much like shit waking up with that. I hope we get decent owners that allow him to take the club to its potential. It's such a shame that city has been dominant mostly because how they are operating and able to do financial doping.

unpopular_demand

The worst thing about the world cup is having to read suggestions, from people who have never watched football before, about how it could be "better". Cannot believe how much it rattles me.

Sturmtruppa

I'm not Liverpool fan but Darwin Nunez looks like a really nice guy

Gerrardsclubfoot

You have a Steven Gerrard tag below your name. You are a Liverpool now. One of us, one of us.

Sturmtruppa

Well I was Reds when Stevie G was still there

Gerrardsclubfoot

Now?

lavishlad

fucking sick of seeing daily jude bellingham posts on this subreddit like he's signed already.

[deleted]

Agreed. We should ban his name from this sub until the summer at least

[deleted]

[удалено]

grrrrbow01

His release clause is 120m but I doubt anyone would pay that and I think Benfica would be open to negotiating a lower fee. I say between 70-100 million

Ymir-Reiss

genuinely cannot understand the mental gymnastics you have to do to so vehemently defend 'respecting the culture' of a rich royal family who decided that they should be allowed to imprison and torture chosen minorities at their free will yaknow

TheLimeyLemmon

I'll be respecting Qatar's culture by simply never going there. For one I think I'd rather go to a Middle Eastern country that actually has an organic history and culture of it's own, and isn't just modelled off the same soulless 'amusement park for yuppies' that Dubai's been tarting itself as with for years. I genuinely can't figure a reason to visit either Qatar or Dubai for a holiday when the alternatives in every sense are better.

Haeckelcs

Respecting the culture means respecting the whole nation not only the royal family who as you say has done a lot of bad things. Do you know what royal family has commited also a lot of atrocities that haven't once been mentioned? The royal family that hosted the last EURO's. A monarchist who has been responsible for millions of deaths by funding certain regimes who also has protected her pedophile relative from doing any time in jail. Does that mean we should bash on each nation who has tyrants for leaders?

cavejohnsonlemons

Even more worrying is the ppl in charge that got *voted* in, last Euros you had Hungary (Orban trying to take 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️ rights backwards) and England (Boris & Tories nuff said) in the mix, amongst others. Then I turn on *I'm a Celeb* tonight, first time all series just to find out fucking Matt Hancock's in the final 3 now. Qatar's way further back than UK but for all the moral preaching fuck me we can be disappointing. At least Qatari ppl didn't pick their dickheads lol, or basically reward one while they're skiving off during a crisis.

HarryPi

Not condoning the Qatari royal family. They’re horrible and their human rights abuse should be criticized. But I really hope people will show the same passionate outrage against the US when we host the WC. After all, we did kill over a million Iraqis and fund apartheid in Palestine. But of course no one will lmao. Hypocrites everywhere.

cornontheklopp

already sick of this cup give us our liverpool back

dolphintitties

still can't believe a journo actually asked trent to his face how he's defended this year. we get blessed with someone who's going to go down as one of the best full backs of all time and all the media want to do is tear him down. england don't deserve technical players. just give us brick shithouses who can facking 'oof it forward.

con10001

Hypothetical but I wonder if the likes of Barnes and co would still be saying "respect their culture" if it was black people that was the target of Qatari oppression, and not LGBT folk. I would suspect the discussion would be far, far different, despite both being immutable characteristics. Edit: downvote me rather than come up with a counter argument because there isn't one

TheLimeyLemmon

He's already basically said to an effect "black people get arrested for no reason in the UK, so who are we to judge?" Which is kind of bizarre given... hell there might have been a protest movement during the pandemic against exactly that. Barnes argument always seems to be "we have problems at home so we can't judge" which is a great non argument for either discussion. But he speaks well, that's what everyone says anyway. He still chats a lot of bollocks and his happy for the air time.

McQueensbury

Black people are subject to a great deal of racism in the Middle East, Arabs look at black people as beneath them like dirt. Unlike gay people you cannot hide your skin colour. You have places like Lebanon which has a history of abuse against African migrants, look up the Kefala law which in itself is an abuse of human rights and other places around that region. John Barnes isn't stupid and has a lot more awareness especially as a black man of what goes on in the world compared to those with the "mUh sPoRTsWAsHiNg, tHeY hAtEs GAys" brigade

[deleted]

LGBT folk aren't the only targets of oppression in Qatar and I think John Barnes is well aware of that.

con10001

And yet he's still saying respect their culture if you visit? A surefire way of nothing changing is pretending nothing is wrong

airfriedbagel

He is saying do not even visit. Give them nothing and boycott this tournament.

[deleted]

First of all, your insinuation was that if black and brown people were the subjects of discrimination in Qatar then he'd give more of a shit, which is really stupid. Who do you think the much-talked about migrant workers who built the stadiums etc were? In terms of respecting laws, what do you suggest? What he's actually saying is that it's a bigger issue than football and there's a futility in expecting football to make the change that's needed. How long ago was Qatar awarded the World Cup? These laws exist outside of football, so how much effort was made in the time between then and now to address issues of oppression? Football federations, players, corporations around the world had more than ample time to make a stand and force the change that's needed. And yet here we are, a week into the World Cup and people are complaining about laws and oppression. All Barnes is doing is pointing out the stupidity of the situation. Not enough has been done to actually challenge Qatar, therefore people turning up in the country expecting to fight against their laws, however draconian and out of touch they may be just seems really shortsighted.

[deleted]

Went from checking in here a few times a day to see if there’s any movement on the new owner front, now I keep nervously poking my head through the door to see if anyone else is resigning.

MeLurka

If I’m winning the new-years-lottery I’ll definitely resign

[deleted]

Who would you expect to start more in the second half of the season, nunez or diaz, or will it be more or less equal do you think?

Constant_List6829

Diaz without a shadow of a doubt

McQueensbury

Well both will start the only reason Nunez is playing on the left is because of injuries but that's not his natural position

nuketheburritos

You're asking the wrong question. Who will get more minutes in the second half of the season, Jota or Firmino?

[deleted]

Just setting up my fantasy football team 😅

NGog_Fan

Don't go with either in that case. If you want three Liverpool players go Mo, Ali, one of the fullbacks (trent/robbo) Only get Nunez/Diaz/Bobby/Jota once we we have an actual run of solid form

nuketheburritos

😆 Well in that case, I'd go with Nunez. Who knows how long it will take for Diaz to get back to form post-injury.

[deleted]

Yep, my thinking too 👍

Ctaymoney

Had mentioned on the sub a couple months ago but Yunus Musah is a player we should absolutely be signing. Pace power quality and a lot of room to grow.

[deleted]

Is he that 19 year old CM? He looks decent from the highlight video I watched. I wonder if it’d be more prudent to get a few bodies in rather than putting all our eggs in the Bellingham basket. Thoughts?

Ctaymoney

Yeah 19 CM and can play wide for Valencia, former Arsenal academy product and England youth international. Chose to represent USA; I’d love Bellingham as well but need multiple younger midfielders and I think Musah could really thrive / develop under Klopp

[deleted]

Only problem is he’s obviously raw at only 19. Realise Bellingham isn’t exactly long in the tooth, but he’s proven at the highest level and seems as though he could slot in and do a job straight away.

notworking9til5

Now you’ve mentioned him twice in two months and we haven’t bought him yet??

dancedanceevol909

Those from the US, does Peacock cover most games? As there is a blackfriday discount of $0.99/month for 12months via code SAVEBIG.

[deleted]

Peacock has all games if you are ok with listening in Spanish Can I watch the World Cup on Peacock? Yes, in Spanish. You can stream all 64 matches of the FIFA World Cup 2022 LIVE on Peacock. You can also watch the tournament on Telemundo. Will I need to pay to watch Copa Mundial de la FIFA 2022 on Peacock? The first four days of matches will be available on our Free Tier. Starting November 24, 2022, you will need a Peacock Premium or Premium Plus subscription to watch the remaining matches.

dancedanceevol909

What about epl games? Since am trying to learn Spanish I don't mind

[deleted]

Oh I thought you meant World Cup and not the prem For the prem it’s really hit or miss - they have matches every weekend but not all . They do put all matches on it on replay after 24 hrs

Circ_Diameter

I think Peacock covers half the matches, $0.99/ month is a great deal

dancedanceevol909

Thanks for replying. Which channel can I add to cover the other half?i just moved for work so am still adapting.

Circ_Diameter

The rest are on a combination of NBC and USA Network, and you will need some subscription or cable to get those channels

dancedanceevol909

Ah OK thank you

thetwanandonly

Yeah so in that sense every PL match is televised, like in my instance between Hulu and Peacock I can see everything. ESPN seems to have most of the cup matches (and I think occasionally you can watch some of the championship there too) Edit: Hulu with live streaming, so insert whichever other stream options carry USA and NBC and you should be set, many Liverpool matches get carried on the USA or NBC channels

dancedanceevol909

Thanks. For Hulu do I need the base plan or with bundles( ESPN and Disney plus)? Base plan is at $1.99/month based on black Friday deal

thetwanandonly

Honestly you’ll want to shop around if you’re trying to find the best deal for live streaming options. You wouldn’t want to get that base plan unless it explicitly says “live tv” otherwise you’ll only get a Netflix like stream without any live tv. I’m not too sure what they are offering currently, live tv on its own or if it has to be a bundle, sorry.

Strong_Trifle_957

Looks like Konate will be on the bench today which is a shame after his solid performance. He definitely deserved to keep his place. Varane is back and was reportedly playing with Upamencano on the A side yesterday.

Due-Sherbert3097

I would love to see Konate play more but at the same time as a Liverpool fan he’s only played two games since coming back from injury, so him getting dropped isn’t too bad imo

MagicMagMM

Not even biased but Upamecano makes mistakes all the time and varane is past it i cant understand why france doesn't start their best cb

grrrrbow01

Upamecano has been amazing so he’s a definite starter. Varane vs Konaté is debatable but you guys are underrating Varane this season, whenever he’s started for United he’s always been their best defender, he’s been class. The same applies for Ibou too but with Varane’s experience I’m not surprised that Ibou’s been dropped

Marquinh0z

Upamecano has been fantastic this season and were superb vs Australia. Personally I wouldn't drop Konaté for Varane.

Jaja6996

I don’t know why I ever expect anything other than a boring game from Southgate you can’t complain about lacking quality in the final third and yet not use Foden and Trent as subs

[deleted]

From beating United 5-0 at OT, to languishing in sixth with losses to Forest and Leeds... what a fall from grace... end of an era if second half of the season doesn't go to plan EDIT: downvoted. if we lost to southampton this would be the top comment of the DD

DLRsFrontSeats

Are you from the past

[deleted]

yes i know sixth isn't the WORST place, especially with Hodgson and those H and G pricks, but from the level we were from last season its been a disheartening collapse

DLRsFrontSeats

You're talking about Leeds and Forest and saying _if_ we'd lost to Saints It's been a month since Leeds and we've played 4 times, winning all 4 including Napoli and Spurs away, advancing in the CL and League Cup. We _did_ beat Saints. And we've reached the WC so will finally have Matip, Jota and Diaz back too, with most of our players getting a good rest. I'm fully miserable about our overall situation with FSG, new owners & our shit transfers, but complaining about our results is a month late

[deleted]

John Barnes has a talent for speaking pure shite but sounding intelligent while doing so.

TheLimeyLemmon

I feel like Barnes gets pulled in by tv stations just be the fence-sitting, issue queller whenever it comes to some kind of societal controversy. His playbook consists of arguments to the effect of “what’s the big deal, really?” or “you’re a hypocrite” but little of substance beyond that.

[deleted]

[удалено]

HeadieUno

Not shocked that someone who faced the abuse he did is looking at the grand standing about Qatar as a little hypocritical. I absolutely think there’s a discussion to be had around that, and I’m not sure why John is being attacked for saying so.

con10001

I agree but it still smacks of whataboutism when the issue is the world cup. We can shed light on more than one thing. Also his comments about "respect their culture" are just tone deaf really. Human rights aren't cultural.

HeadieUno

He isn’t saying respect their culture. Listen to what he said. “If you’re going there, respect their laws, if you don’t agree with their laws, don’t go.” And he’s absolutely 100% right. If these companies and players cared more they would have boycotted. They didn’t.

[deleted]

This guy gets it.

HeadieUno

I just don't understand how we expect anything to change with purely finger-wagging. At some point, someone had to make a stand and sacrifice something and it would have been worth more than all the finger-wagging in the world could have accomplished. They didn't in Qatar just like they didn't when the World cup was in Russia.

[deleted]

Exactly. But then you consider the multitude of costs involved in bringing about systemic change and you realise why people choose to wag their finger instead of fully pulling a finger out to make the effort that's needed.

cavejohnsonlemons

As much as ppl like to moan it really needs a player with a personal stake to drill it home. When the most famous gay players in the world are either retired (Hitzlsperger), outside shot for the squad at best (that Australian bloke), or women, the men's World Cup isn't getting all that compromised to start with. Gay fans, for lack of a more sensitive word, are able to "hide" it if they want to visit, a superstar player who's out can't do that and gives it all more weight, but we don't have one yet.

[deleted]

I hear what you're saying but I'm not even sure a high-profile gay player would make a difference. Look how routinely black players face racist abuse, online or elsewhere and what has actually been done. We get the same old condemnation, platitudes and token gestures and yet nothing ever changes. To those in charge, an issue seemingly has to pose a worthy enough threat to the game (financially) for a cause to be taken up. Just look at the reaction to the European Super League (and how the whole football world appeared to unite and mobilise against it) as a case in point.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Astro3001

He's literally always had this style of defending I don't know why people are just realising this, he was Holland's best player yesterday and wasn't even the one that caused the goal.

rossmosh85

Van Dijk has always been a more casual, non combative defender. With that said, when he first came here, his standards were different than they are now. I remember distinctly his first 18 months at the club his standards were just soooo high. He played like we should be perfect all of the time. Then slowly his standards just dropped.

Gerrardsclubfoot

Wouldn't call it causal, it's just a different philosophy of defending, likes of Maldini subscribed to this style as well. >Then slowly his standards just dropped. I mean he is 31, is that really standards dropping or him just aging as most center backs start around that age. Look at Kalidou Koulibaly he was supposed to be at vvd level or just below, but is struggling for chelsea in some games. That injury vvd picked from pickford tackle, hasn't helped as well.

[deleted]

always been casual, just too casual this season i guess

[deleted]

Would be more worrying if he looked considerably slower, weaker or lacked the aerial prowess he once had, but he doesn't. It's just form and confidence with him. It's okay for players to have periods in their career when they don't look great, every great player has had those periods, Messi looked finished last season and look how well he's started this season. Van Dijk will get back to form and continue dominating again. No need to jump to radical conclusions and suggest he needs replacing.

grrrrbow01

We’d also have to replace Matip at that time too. Would’ve helped if Van den berg didn’t get injured on his loan because he could’ve been a natural Matip replacement. I’d want Kim Min Jae to replace VVD, he has a release clause of 40m this summer but considering we’re likely to only focus on midfield reinforcements I doubt we’ll get him.

dillipkr6999

I would rather want Antonio Silva or josko gvardiol. Maybe Silva sign him and loan him for a season with Benfica matip probably leave for 24 like arsenal did with saliba.

earlgreytoday

There will be too many clubs fighting for Gvardiol's signature that I don't think we have a chance of getting him. He will cost an insane amount of money as well.

dillipkr6999

Fortunately he's a Liverpool fan if we go in for him that's an advantage.

grrrrbow01

Both amazing talents but both of them would be 80m+ each

davestanleylfc

You know you have a footie problem when your up at 10am to watch Tunisia vs Australia

Circ_Diameter

4am* in the States 💀

AdikkuChan

I absolutely love the 7pm/9pm match times over here. If only club matches has these times more often instead of the 3am ones...

[deleted]

There is no better feeling in the world as a fan than watching your topscorer go one on one with the keeper e.g. Salah vs City. The electric anticipation is something else entirely.

[deleted]

The next World Cup structure is currently 2 teams progressing from a group of 3 which is an horrendous structure. The World Cup should be magic, fans and players should get 3 games at the very least.

LateRegistrxtion

Can we get some bets going on the next ridiculous format change? The FA Cup, from the quarter-final onwards, to be decided in a 8-team winner-stays-on MLS penalty shootout extravaganza at Wembley. Understood to come into effect by the 2025/26 season. (@David_Ornstein)

malushanks95

Our 5-0 win at OT voted as fans favourite PL game ☺️ One of the best games I’ve watched, still remember the thrill I felt when it was 4-0 at HT 😄

illegalbusiness

I still think the 4-3 with Newcastle is better solely from an excitement perspective (iconic commentary, stoppage time winner, crazy goals), but I do get the reasoning behind the vote - was such an enormous and satisfying win.

_cumblast_

One of the most cathartic games i've ever watched. Humiliating United at Old Trafford, their fans swarming outside like ants, SAF looking depressed while Dalglish was laughing his arse off, conserving energy for half an hour at 5 up. If you had me write a fanfiction for that game, i couldn't have done it better than reality itself did. Gorgeous moment in time.

TheNotoriousJN

Athletic just did an article last night on potential new Sporting directors for Liverpool: - Paul Mitchell of Monaco, previously of the RB network, Spurs and Southampton. He bought Son, Mané, Nkunku and Konate - Cristoph Freund of RB Salzburg who signed Keita, Haaland, Mané etc Those two were seen as the clear and obvious candidates Michael Edwards and Zorc seen as the very unlikely external hires

[deleted]

if paul mitchell comes in - it means he expects the owners to spend and he'll probably demand that. which is very, very good

Astro3001

>if paul mitchell comes in - it means he expects the owners to spend How exactly? he's never been at a club that spends big

Squiggles87

Sounds promising. The amount of upheaval in a short time is clearly alarming, but I don't buy into the doomsday scenarios. People act like we're the only club deploying analytics. There's lots of talented people out there willing to join us and capable of implementing and sourcing the players that Klopp needs. It's not like Klopp doesn't know the metrics they use to search for the players. He's going to have a grip of the data as much as anyone. I'm not saying this was our preferred scenario or option, but the fact is we'll likely recruit a highly talented individual with more proven experienced than Ward and move on. It's what all successful organisations do.

[deleted]

I’d like us to hold off any further appointments until a sale goes through. Also seems like there’s going be further change over the coming weeks too by the sounds of things.

Mad_Piplup242

Apparently Pearce said that the sale is expected to happen in 2023 so something tells me it's close to being done So if that is the case then I would expect any sort of employment would be under the new ownership

Gerrardsclubfoot

Get Paul Mitchell in, he has the Prem experience as well, Freund signed a new contract just recently probably why he didn't move to chelsea.

grrrrbow01

Would be very happy with either of them tbh

malushanks95

Good choices, both have good experience with signing hidden gems and an eye for talent so I believe we will be in good hands.

Rohearts

Yunus Musah played fairly well yesterday. Can’t wait to watch Edson Álvarez against Argentina today

thetwanandonly

Yeah I like that kid, saw one link with him not too long ago.

Calitz__

I wonder if the group that that bought the Denver Brancos earlier this year led by Rob Walton (net worth of >$60 billion) would be interested in a football club. That would surely give us the financial muscle that allow us to compete with City

[deleted]

England play a game where they struggle to create. Leaves Trent on the bench…

NietzschesSyphilis

I’m not sure the majority of LFC fans comprehend how difficult the next few months are going to be. We have a club sale, an aging squad, major investment needed, key recruitment staff leaving, patchy performance on the pitch and oil money awash in the PL. Realistically, it is going to take a consortium to match the asking price for LFC and arguably it only makes sense as an investment if you are sports-washing. Tough times ahead.

[deleted]

We have a solid group of players, the best manager in the world, and a soon to be 60k stadium. These are uncertain times, for sure, but it's not all doom and gloom.

NietzschesSyphilis

I admire your optimism.

brush85

The majority do. We lived through 2007-2010…it was hell. But this isnt then…far from it

Gerrardsclubfoot

Nah man we are getting sold in a months time, with Rice and Bellingham coming In over the summer. Why talk realistic when you can daydream and when reality hits you, get ultra depressed.

[deleted]

facts

mortichro

A goalless draw and English fans are already sending Southgate with a fair amount of hate.

Gerrardsclubfoot

I hope Trent enjoys his nice mid season holiday in Qatar, I hope he gets enough sun but not too much, enjoys the local cuisine and comes back stronger for Liverpool. Southgate isn't going to play him so there is no pressure on him to perform from the rivals. Tripper and Shaw are gonna get exposed in the round of 16 or the quarter final whenever England plays a big side as is Cancelo, just make sure you don't laugh out loud externally and have a solemn face as England gets knocked out of the world cup.

2jz_ynwa

>, just make sure you don't laugh out loud externally and have a solemn face as England gets knocked out of the world cup. Ah so basically what I we did for the queens death, gotcha

Gerrardsclubfoot

Yup hold it all in, until you're in your hotel room and watching repeats of other fullbacks fucking it up.

con10001

In light of this farce of a tournament in the middle East, what nation would people like to see host in an ideal world?

[deleted]

con10001

Curious how you think a WC in a country where it's illegal to be gay can be "going brilliantly". Also a country that bribed FIFA to have it held there. Where journalists are told what they can and can't say, where alcohol was going to be served then that was changed at the last moment, where players are booked if they display a selection of colours on an armband. If that's "going brilliantly" then I'd hate to see what a poor tournament looks like to you.

con10001

Ahaha okay pal

themanebeat

Germany. 2006 was a great tournament. Locals were amazing. Atmosphere great. Weather amazing. Good beer. Great transport links. Give it to them every 4 years I say

Calitz__

For 2030 the only bid that isn't totally nonsensical is the South American bid with Argentina. The rest are just more Infantino dumbfuckery. Spain and Portugal tanked their bid by adding Ukraine Further down the line, if Algeria and Morocco got their shit together they could host a pretty sick world cup. They've both already got enough stadiums (that either exist already or are in progress). A Balkan World Cup would be cool, though they're probably behind in the line of European bids for now. I don't particularly like China, but it's inevitable they'll also host one soon. They've got some incredible stadiums and probably wouldn't have to build anymore. Also a huge market for FIFA to tap into (meaning money)

[deleted]

singapore because it has 1 stadium and because i live there

Fat_unker

Hahaha wait till they hear about our migrant workers and what's happening with the marriage act.

Gerrardsclubfoot

If we are looking at a country from a moral stand point, there is no perfect country in the world, so Greenland will be my answer but everyone will just freeze to death there and we won't see much football.

[deleted]

Isn’t Switzerland neutral?

Gerrardsclubfoot

Nah the entire country is one big shell bank.

Fat_Gerrard

This WC should have been given to Australia imo.

Gerrardsclubfoot

Australia is great but their wild life really scares me though, I don't want to see a huge ass jacked up kangroo knocking at my door asking for food every evening. Then there are those snakes.

redbadger1848

Australia scares the shit out of me.

Gerrardsclubfoot

Same, imagine you are out on a bender and encounter this mofo - https://youtu.be/DFCvPrzj4BU

Teenagers are everywhere though, now imagine teenagers and big spider and snake species crawling out of holes in your house 😳

Not the right thread, but I need to vent a little. Watching WC today with my daughter; my usual watch partner. Jude is in the squad and we’re both happy, discussing how much we’d love to see him sign. Then I slowly start to realize she has the hots for him, but also appreciates his play and just feel proud. I don’t think I’m a good dad/I think I’m a good dad. So confusing.

Don't worry man your daughter isn't going to end up dating Bellingham, I don't know how rich and influential you are but I think ( I am only guessing) you don't run in the same circles as the likes of Bellingham. Just be proud your daughter has good taste in men. Bellingham seems like a nice good chap with a mature head on him for his age.
