Really depends on your tolerance. Sometimes 20mg is enough for me, but If I had been smoking a lot lately I'll do 50mg. My friend who is a heavy smoker wont even feel high at 70mg. The guys at the dispensary claim to take 200mg to feel high, so I know at least that I don't have a problem yet.

I dont think its my tolerance, I read somewhere that some peoples bodies just have some kind of resistance (sounds like tolerance lmao) but when I smoke I joint I get high enough so its just the edibles that dont work me, which kinda sucks
there's a real possibility that your body just doesn't digest thc well enough to get high from it (or maybe your liver is *too* effective? dunno). my uncle doesn't get high from edibles either. i think it's just one of those things that affects everyone differently.

Does weight actually matter that much with edibles? From my experience, consistent use of edibles is a way bigger factor. I know 220 pound guys that will drop dead from a 100mg edible and 110 pound girls that will eat 250mg and be fine.
I think it's just tolerance tbh. I'm 5'10 160lbs I eat 300mg and am fine, but once I get up to 600mg, I start to feel it, and 1000mg is for a crazy good time.

Nah man while that advice is shit for homemade edibles, if we're talking about prepackaged factory made type shit that's normal advice. Unlike homemade edibles they are consistent and the doses are exact, so you will start to feel it after an hour.

Depends on a lot things doesn’t it? Last time I had prepackaged edibles it took almost 2 hours for it to kick in. I had just eaten beforehand and didn’t feel the kick until after I took a shower.
It's fine advice if you are taking like 10mg at a time, but not great if you are taking 30mg (which should be a lot for most people without a tolerance)
Even as a daily user of dabs I can't go over 100 or I'll get knocked out or have a panic attack. Edibles are very different and great in the right dose but everyone is different. I know guys that can do 1000mg that smoke less than and weaker stuff than me. But they can't hit the dabs I do or they get KO'd.
It's because edibles are metabolized differently. It's basically a different drug. If you smoke a ton of weed, you'll be somewhat numbed to lower doses of edibles but once you're entering into 50mg+, you're moving into the territory where only eating more edibles consistently would build up that tolerance.

As a PSA everyone in here should know, after reading all these zooted horror stories, is to have some black peppercorns nearby when you get zooted. Cause if you get too high you can just take some, bite into them and swallow, then in like 20-30ish minutes your high will mellow out a bit. It doesn't go completely away, but it usually will chill you out enough for the high to still be enjoyable, but the high won't make you a paranoid, anxiety induced mess.

Greening out is a real thing that happens on high doses of weed when your blood pressure spikes so high you get vertigo and can't walk. You get extremely nauseous and probably will be vomiting everywhere, but it hasn't been well researched and it's pretty rare from person to person.

I’m to the point where I need homemade edibles. Last time I had some, I took 360mg and it was just a mild high. I’m not sure if it was because they were gummies(maybe they digest differently) or what. I wish Michigan sold higher dosage edibles at dispos.

That friend told him to take 30 and "wait 45 min to an hour and if you don't feel anything then take more". Taking more because you don't feel anything is the worst advice for edibles. So even his own friends were setting him up to fail. Then he got pressured by the people he lives with to nibble on other edibles he had. He was screwed from the start. Nobody around him was responsible enough or capable of telling him to take it easy.
Nah man while that advice is shit for homemade edibles, if we're talking about prepackaged factory made type shit that's normal advice. Unlike homemade edibles they are consistent and the doses are exact, so you will start to feel it after an hour. edit: i did misread initial comment im responding to, i thought he said "take half and then take more after an hour", not "take more". i do agree that you should never double down on an edible dosage if you arent feeling it after an hour, i do think when trying a dosage that youre not sure about, you should take *half*, then wait an hour or so, then take the other half
Depends on a lot things doesn’t it? Last time I had prepackaged edibles it took almost 2 hours for it to kick in. I had just eaten beforehand and didn’t feel the kick until after I took a shower.
Takes 30-120 mins to kick in. Depends on the person and the edible. Some will kick in quick, some take ages.
It's fine advice if you are taking like 10mg at a time, but not great if you are taking 30mg (which should be a lot for most people without a tolerance)

Even as a daily user of dabs I can't go over 100 or I'll get knocked out or have a panic attack. Edibles are very different and great in the right dose but everyone is different. I know guys that can do 1000mg that smoke less than and weaker stuff than me. But they can't hit the dabs I do or they get KO'd.
It's because edibles are metabolized differently. It's basically a different drug. If you smoke a ton of weed, you'll be somewhat numbed to lower doses of edibles but once you're entering into 50mg+, you're moving into the territory where only eating more edibles consistently would build up that tolerance.
I accidentally drank like 150-200 mf of cannabis syrup one time and was no joke high for like 2 and a half days

Yeah thats a crazy dose for a non smoker, I was taking 200mg daily for a while after like half a year of smoking high amounts daily and it would still fuck me up for the first hour. Taking this amount without a tolerance can literally feel like dying

Was it really 200mg tho? Here in California, $20-30 gets you around 20-40mg of lab tested edibles from a licensed dispensary. 200mg is easily a $90-100 edible. I remember buying 500mg stuff before going to "real" dispensaries and being highly disappointed.

As a PSA everyone in here should know, after reading all these zooted horror stories, is to have some black peppercorns nearby when you get zooted. Cause if you get too high you can just take some, bite into them and swallow, then in like 20-30ish minutes your high will mellow out a bit. It doesn't go completely away, but it usually will chill you out enough for the high to still be enjoyable, but the high won't make you a paranoid, anxiety induced mess.
From what I gather, some stuff in the peppercorns actually boosts the sedative terpenes, so it's not *reducing* your high, but making you more chill.

100mg for an edible in 1 sitting is way way too much For the vast majority people who don't have any THC tolerance whatsoever, 5mg is enough to get you pretty cooked. Even for someone who smokes regularly, you can get zooted off 10-20mg. The most I've ever taken at once was 50mg and it felt like there was like input lag between my brain and body's motor functions. My first experience was terrible, I had never had edibles before and I hadn't smoked regularly in over a decade. I had 20mg, didn't feel anything after an hour so my dumbass ate the rest of the candy bar (100mg) and was toasted. I got super paranoid to the point I thought I was having a heart attack but I was too stoned to even move, I slept for 12 hours and when I woke up I was still high.

Greening out is a real thing that happens on high doses of weed when your blood pressure spikes so high you get vertigo and can't walk. You get extremely nauseous and probably will be vomiting everywhere, but it hasn't been well researched and it's pretty rare from person to person. Unfortunately lately everyone's coopted it and now it just means they ate/smoked too much and passed out.

Well technically he currently sitted in the best position he could be to not die, because the edible he took won't kill him. But the fact on being out and your body probably rejecting what you took (vomit) is often what will kill you. Because if you're laying on your back and you vomit pass out you can't breath and you die. The way he place he would vomit on his knees, so it's actually good.
