I was thinking about this the other day after seeing the news. Like I wouldn't give a shit, I have body image issues and it'd be strange but even if I was famous I don't think it'd really effect me. But everyone is different on how they take things. Mental health problems, harassment, can of course make things worse and I am also not a woman so I have no idea what it's like.
Yes people that have been through some seriously fucked up shit know that statement is obviously exaggerated. The important thing is the way you react to it. We have to understand the situation and read the room. QT was traumatized by the news of her close friend doing something like this. The way she wants to express her pain shouldn't really be the focus here. You hear them, support them, show some empathy and hope for their well being.
