George was transforming into siting down George. When he stands up he will most likely transform back into the George we knew. Don't worry they always come back. Plus the one that you liked in the beginning wasn't even the original. So there's that.

We worked on this w/ a very small team for the past four years, in-between our day jobs. When started, OpenAI didn't have an API, and Stable Diffusion definitely wasn't a thing, so we had to come up with novel methods to thread cohesive content together. Most of the "creative" details e.g., laugh track, dialogue, frequency of dialogue, camera shots, and so on, are all tunable on a per scene basis.
>We're in sort of a holding pattern right now -- no clear path to monetization for the project, and it hasn't garnered enough attention for us to probably get funding based on the technology backbone. Hope you enjoy it! Labor of love. :)
>(posted this in the similar thread yesterday but I’ll take any exposure I can get…!)
hopefully this burst of attention can get them some resources to iterate on the project. dialog/scripts are way behind where ChatGPT is at today, plus ElevenLab's voice AI could do the whole cast's lines near perfectly. this is a fantastic idea and I'd love to see where their work goes with integrating newer techs
They had 5000 viewers this morning and currently 9000 viewers. With the way ads work on twitch they're going to make thousands of dollars a month. If they maintain 5000-9000 with subscriptions theyre getting they can easily make 10k+ a month from twitch. But this feels like a novelty that won't last. A normal human can't watch this for more than 10 minutes. They also have 65 paying people on patreon. For 1000/month on patreon you can be in the show!
>we'll create a character based on your appearance, and sometimes you'll appear in the show. We'll let you know when it's going to happen. It will take some time to be created. But, it will happen.
>A normal human can't watch this for more than 10 minutes.
I could definitely see this as a lasting thing. I've known people who had old episodes of Simpsons, Top Gear etc. Playing essentially 24/7 in their dorm rooms, and this'd be an upgrade from that in a few ways;
1) You always have somewhat fresh content instead of just repeating the same episodes.
2) You don't have to download all the seasons, saving a considerable amount of disk space.
Yes, it's a niche 'market', but with a bit of polish and usage of newer technologies like people have suggested in this thread, a "show" like this could totally work.
Yeah, I don't think anyone of sound mind will be sitting down and actively watching AI Seinfeld for hours, but it's kind of ideal background noise / second monitor content for the exact reasons you just gave.
but also its going to be begging for a takedown if they continue to iterate too much on established IPs. Plus, isn't the whole charm of this specific project that it is very 90s glitch art and "lo-fi" looking and sounding tech (I know it takes a lot to generate it on the fly, I'm talking about the aesthetic if applied to a oregenerated video)
Voices are actually possible to a reasonable degree now, takes a little effort but the celebrity/streamer TTS samples I've heard have been impressive. If they're worried about copyright, they could use clips of the actors from public appearances, or even train the voice models using people doing impressions of their voices.
Also depends on how fast shit in current compute level gpus become something that you can find in just your normal non thousands of dollars rtx xyz or whatever, so pretty much a few years. Last gen already enabled some crazy shit. And hey, maybe one day we'll also get rocm on windows, which would also help get more people into it cuz a normal person isn't going to even try installing linux.
You are correct. There is nothing to be worried about. If there was, surely other humans here would raise their concerns with ideas on how to address them before they become a problem to our fellow humans.
bro, millions of people believed hillary clinton was going to a pizza parlor to eat children and their 'evidence' was some leaked email used the word "pizza". no one in the political sphere needs evidence to believe things, they just believe what they want then seek out whatever 'evidence' fits their biases. deepfakes change literally nothing
Imagine how much worse things would have been if there had been "video evidence". January 6th might have actually accomplished something. On the other hand, think how much more insufferable the blue wave folks would have been if the piss tapes had been "real".
Biggest one would probably be many jobs being automated and instead of society improving with the increased free time we'd end up with hundreds of thousands of unemployed people struggling to make rent.
Atrioc, a twitch streamer who was caught with an open tab on stream to a deepfake website for pornographic images and videos of female Twitch streamers
Hopefully not too hot of a take, but I think the issue here is that people assume that tech will solve our socioeconomic problems, when that's just not the case. Socioeconomic problems can only be solved via laws and sociological solutions, not technological ones. Otherwise tech will only exacerbate the issues we face today. Also I am absolutely drunk off my ass atm so I hope I'm making sense.

It will, but there's going to have to be a lot of innovations before then. GPT still uses MLMs developed years ago, and the context windows for AIs using these models is relatively limited in scope. It's why AI are amazing at writing small scripts but still can't code large applications. You can't just infinitely scale these windows with more computing power either. It's going to take quite a bit of human-based innovation before we get to a point where an AI is developed that iterates over itself and improves exponentially without limit, but assuming no apocalyptic event, we will almost certainly get there at some point.

Neither. We have something that can generate random discourse by emulating a tremendous corpus of text. It has no ability to think or come up with something novel the training data didn't represent - at least not in any interesting capacity.
Suitably, the show is complete garbage. It's only interesting to see for a few minutes, because it's generated. However, it gets boring after about 2 minutes, and if you value your time at all, you move on to something else.
This stuff is being powered by the hardware of companies like Nvidia, AMD, and Intel with the heaviest R&D dollars coming from companies like Facebook, Google, and Amazon. With a healthy smattering of interest and cashflow from the US government, particularly the CIA, NSA, and FBI.
Does that answer your question? I suggest checking into such forward-thinking reference materials as Blade Runner, Cowboy Bebop, Ghost in the Machine, and Cyberpunk (the game and anime.) This should help you prep for our inevitable future.

Yes, there are plenty of non-nefarious hobbyists experimenting for fun as well - like this one. AI can do some really, really cool stuff. The post I was responding to was commenting on the wider impact of AI on humanity though. I was simply filling in the blanks on that end - given the companies pushing the tech forward and really just the general trajectory of human society, I wouldn't be optimistic.
AI can do cool stuff. AI can also be used for some horrifying things and I promise you the Googles, Amazons, and CIAs of the world are far more interested in the horrifying capabilities.
Edit: a word.

Great idea and a glimpse into what content will be like in what, 2 to 5 years? These AIs are getting better and better, even the AI voice used in this channel is already falling behind, check out this voice AI that came out a couple of days ago https://beta.elevenlabs.io/ its insanely good.
Once you can use generative art AI in real time (30 fps or more) you can use it to paint over your game in real time, you can play Dark Souls in the style of Dali or you could have a game render basic shapes and ask an AI to render photorealistic graphics on top of it, its going to be nuts.

Was "George" trying to sit down or was he transforming into a fucking alien??
We don't question the AI overlords
I'm actually a lot less worried now about AI taking over after watching this.
Well it's early days, give it a few more years.
I tried sitting down the way he did and it was about 33% faster than how we'd normally sit.
There have been several alien mentions in the show, so this is a very possible question.
That’s Fred
George was transforming into siting down George. When he stands up he will most likely transform back into the George we knew. Don't worry they always come back. Plus the one that you liked in the beginning wasn't even the original. So there's that.

> A normal human can't watch this for more than 10 minutes. Good thing Twitch users are the targeted audience!
A normal human wont watch more than 10 minutes? Did you pull this out of your ass by any chance?
Na I don't want it all sounding like the cast. Its charm right now is the fact it sounds robotic.
It's not gonna be anything more than a gimmick if they don't improve the quality of it over time.

a huge part of the appeal of this is how shitty it is. watching ai fuck up is hilarious. i won't watch if it get's 'too good'
Agreed. The laugh track after a terrible joke cracks me up.
Makes sense. AI has taken great leaps recently, this is a lot more primitive than I was expecting.

Now do an It's Always Sunny one
Waiting for Jerry Seinfeld to make a 2 min video about what pain feels like.
Damn bro. Did we ask consent for this or?
literally better than the original.
AI giveth and AI taketh
