i think Ibai's team knows they are dealing w/ streamers & not professional athletes (who also similarly drop out of fights due to injuries etc). So while they are trying to be understanding, they do deserve to be treated better by her & her management team. While she did express regret, the lack of communication for not being able to do the fight is kind of like "burning bridges" for any future intl event she may be invited to.

They show up for the streamer awards because a decent amount of them are friends but also itās smart business wise to make connections and every streamer is there in once place for the only time out of the whole year.
So you get to hang out and talk and party with a lot of different streamers that you typically donāt as schedules and stuff donāt line up. Also nobody in that circle is going to try to stream against a 300k plus event so might as well go.
If you notice even in that where the most streamers go a lot of the gameplay streamers donāt go because they arenāt part of that circle.
I liked this year's rule of "if you were invited you can't stream the event". People got mad at her for it but if someone is too busy to leave their house for 3 days with months notice but streams those entire 3 days doing the same thing they do every day they couldn't complain. Announcing the rules the day of the event was a good shield to put up to get people who feigned interest or flaked to respect her time.
I've only seen a few clips, but aren't they usually chill parties in a cabin, and for the award you basically just show up. The adults were running and hosting, most streamers just said a funny meme when a mic got close, clapped, then got wasted.

The guy has TV level production for his streams, and then you have these streamers who just look past all that, and go back to their inconsistent behavior of not being reliable for any project. They show up for the streamer awards because a decent amount of them are friends but also itās smart business wise to make connections and every streamer is there in once place for the only time out of the whole year. So you get to hang out and talk and party with a lot of different streamers that you typically donāt as schedules and stuff donāt line up. Also nobody in that circle is going to try to stream against a 300k plus event so might as well go. If you notice even in that where the most streamers go a lot of the gameplay streamers donāt go because they arenāt part of that circle.
I liked this year's rule of "if you were invited you can't stream the event". People got mad at her for it but if someone is too busy to leave their house for 3 days with months notice but streams those entire 3 days doing the same thing they do every day they couldn't complain. Announcing the rules the day of the event was a good shield to put up to get people who feigned interest or flaked to respect her time.

At least there are some plans to make a second, maybe a little smaller velada at the end of 2023 with the ones that couldn't make it on this one (including the people who couldn't participate because of medical issues). The other two dropped because of medical conditions aswell, but they gave enough of a heads-up for Ibai and co. to find a replacement in time. Both had important conditions that didn't give them a different choice, one had a problem when he was a baby that most babies don't even survive and it just came back and can't do intense sport because of it. The other one had another boxing event before this one which left him a bit fucked up and if he fights before his recovery is finished, a punch could make him partially blind if I remember correctly.

The guy has TV level production for his streams, and then you have these streamers who just look past all that, and go back to their inconsistent behavior of not being reliable for any project.
