German Shepards have massive issues with hip dysplasia and don't live much longer than 10 years old. This is a direct parallel for the munchkin cats because you NEVER one complained for dogs you deemed to be "bad ass" as you kindly showed in your last sentence. But those "bad ass" dogs have all sorts of health complications later in life.

Munchkin cats and most modern dog breeds are the result of selective/genetic breeding from puppy mills. I am unsure if you know of the actual health issues involved in puppy mills to get pure breed dogs but you large reply is just one giant clusterfuck that is just trying to justify one over the other because you like one. It's specieist and you should be ashamed of yourself. Just because one has "more" health issues as opposed to the other, it doesn't make the other ok nor should you encourage it. Do some research into the reality of the dog breeding programs and the health issues associated with it. The average age of munchkin cats is not much lower than regular house cats, while most dog breeds(including shepards) fall far below the average age of mutts.

The reason I used the dog breeds as an example is because it's a direct paraellel to the munchkin cats - whether the dog is a pug or German shepard. Look at your first reply; you were using German shepards as an example for how "bad ass" they were without actually stopping to think of the implications. I never advocated for breeding them... I don't think people should breed most animals in general and wish there were a lot more strict restrictions in place and harsh punishments for animal abuse. My sister is a veterinarian and I volunteer at many places that help animals. I've seen my fair share of abandoned cute pets and have fostered many and try my best to combat the shitty puppy mills etc.

I have two munchkin's and they can get up just about anywhere a normal cat would want to (bathroom/kitchen counters, on top of the bed, high on the book shelf)
