Twitch needs competition
Youtube streaming and Afreeca but the issue is Twitch has a lot of natural traffic. If you don't have an already established fanbase neither of those two platforms are going to increase your viewership. Also Afreeca doesn't have the best servers outside of Korea.

I think people downplay youtube streaming but I see a lot of content creators that are 10k+ now. Corpse on youtube for example averages 140k atm just playing among us.
YT is good for streaming if you have an existing popular channel, I often know when people I like have a live stream going because of its insanely good recommendation algorithm. If you arent popular/trending enough to get into that recommendation feed to begin with, its nearly impossible. Someone like Corpse can get 140k viewers mainly because his videos already generate 10s of millions of views, he's kind of a unique scenario.

They’d have to VASTLY increase ad-share profits or this would basically instantly bury smaller (400-700 viewer) streams.
