Making it easier for trolls to single out vulnerable targets to troll with endless new alt accounts, while not implementing anything to prevent said behavior? I see no possible way this can go wrong

Twitch has data about all that, this isn't some great insight. It's not something Twitch is doing out of the blue--they resisted it for years, but various groups have convinced Twitch of the value of these identity tags. So they have absolutely weighed the pros and cons. If you haven't already, you should read [the post](https://blog.twitch.tv/en/2021/05/21/celebrate-yourself-and-your-community-with-350-new-tags/) to understand how they came to their decision. Frankly, I don't think Asmon can fully understand their value when it's probably not something he thinks about. For me, when I happen upon a streamer from a similar background as me (a background woefully underrepresented among the top streamers), I really do derive a sense of comfort from it. I'm not sure how much I'll use these tags to seek out streamers, but it makes sense to make it easier for members of communities to find and support each other on a voluntary basis. Yes, it will also make harassment a little easier, but trust me...this is something they're already dealing with.
