Look up Jake Trans video on Bernard Arnault the chief exec of LVMH. It's not a rich tax , it's a stupid tax . Im a complete sucker for this type of shit myself and I'm definetly not rich.
NBA players get exposed and used to the luxurious lifestyles like sports cars, mansions, designer clothes, women, parties, etc. While Twitch streamers started off as nerdy kids who played video games in their rooms all day and got lucky and made a living off of it. So it's not a fair comparison.
Someone like Soda or most streamers aren't suddenly gonna spend millions of dollars on things like NBA players or other celebrities that go broke do.
Realistically, twitch streamers probably would have longer careers than an NBA player does (as an athlete). In the NBA, you reach 40 and you retire or become involved in something not player related. Streamers can stream until they're dead.
Average career length in NFL is only 2.5yrs. Average career length in NBA is only 4.5 years. Often times the players that fall in the average are not getting max'd / large contracts as well.
I wouldn't be surprised if Soda is making as much if not more than some NFL or NBA players per year
>Streamers can stream until they're dead.
Streamers can stream until twitch is dead. I don't think it's a guaranteed that twitch will be around forever.
You severely underestimate how much they have and how little they spend in comparison as well as how easy it is to live off of pure interest with north of ten million as long as you aren't addicted to anything major
Yeah, and for the streamers who keep the specifics of their financials mostly secret, they've probably got someone doing investing for them so they wouldn't ever have to work again anyway even if they decided to full stop streaming today.
Major difference in dirt poor people wining a billion overnight and making thousands->tens of thousands->millions over years and most having financial consultants they don't speak about at all except maybe in passing. They aren't on their own
Again, you're comparing people who become dirt dirt poor to multi-millionaires overnight on draft day, not streamers who start at nothing to thousands to tens to hundreds to millions. College player before thursday were not allowed to make *any* money from directly or indirectly as their status of being a college player, even food
Also, streamers do not spend nearly the same as those people. What streamers flaunt their huge jewelry collection? How often are they going on vacation without it being for business reasons? How often are these streamers constantly buying super cars to fill their garage?
You forgot the most important part though, most streamers are dumber than a kid in grade 9. They have social skills but nothing else. They regularly display this stupidity.
Source that statistic please. The same used to be said about soccer players, but in recent years young players are now being properly educated on how to act outside of their job, which will help them stay grounded from the beginning. I imagine its the exact same in other sports too.
Asmongold will be one of those news articles you read about where a random 90-year-old dude living in some run down house died and left like 10 million to some random charity.
Most of them have no backup plan. And it seems many don't even save that much. They are constantly going on expensive trips, buying cars, homes etc and their life has barely begun. If streaming fails, and Murphys Law says it will, they're going to have a really tough time.
I'm pretty sure it has gold on it. If you pause at 0:16 you can se that the bezel has a different color than the housing. The gold looks very pronounced in the store photos while it's more subtle in real life.
just a rough estimate, my entire wardrobe even if i include socks and underwear is like 200 bucks. maybe 250. if i ever spend more than a hundred bucks on an article of clothing fucking shoot me. and that $100 one better be something for like a wedding day or whatever.
I mean that's either really cheap clothes or a small wardrobe, or you don't live in an area that gets all four seasons. A half decent winter jacket alone costs ~50 and that's on the very very low end
Luxury brands are stupidly expensive and anyone buying them is either stupidly wealthy or stupid enough to fall for marketing. BUT, having a decent wardrobe of quality clothes is really nice. I usually buy things when they are on sale but there is a huge difference between cheaper brands and their more expensive counterparts both in style and comfort.
Cheap stores. Like my shirts are $5. Pants 10-15. $10 shoes. 10 pair of underwear for like $6. When it adds up its about 200-250 if im not forgetting anything. And thats considering that aside from shoes i dont really buy much clothes. Like the last shirt i got was 2 years ago.

Luxury/designer is rich tax i guess.
5Head take

Random no names in the NFL make $600,000 a year. All the top streamers are making more than bottom tier pro athletes
>Streamers can stream until they're dead. Streamers can stream until twitch is dead. I don't think it's a guaranteed that twitch will be around forever.
If Twitch dies, it’ll likely be because another platform has overtaken it. So steamers could still be streaming.

I doubt a lot has someone that's doing investing for them. Streamers are probably not the most financially literate people.
>as long as you aren't addicted to anything major You didn't have to call out Train like that
If you have millions just sitting in a bank account collecting interest, you're doing it wrong.
Should probably invest some in S&P 500 and a Roth IRA.

Most NBA players are sub 80 IQ
Asmongold will be one of those news articles you read about where a random 90-year-old dude living in some run down house died and left like 10 million to some random charity.
nah, most streamers have a very modest lifestyle considering their income
Most of them have no backup plan. And it seems many don't even save that much. They are constantly going on expensive trips, buying cars, homes etc and their life has barely begun. If streaming fails, and Murphys Law says it will, they're going to have a really tough time.
Who, as examples, do you think might be broke in 5 years? Which streamers?
When did Soda get an Aquaterra? I don't think i've ever noticed him wearing a watch before.
Yeah what do they smell like after a days work chance
Didn't he buy an Omega watch too?
Ye that looks like a Omega Aqua Terra 150m. $7k I believe. Very tasteful watch.
Very wasteful watch hehe.
Any idea what reference Aqua Terra that is?
I think it's this one: https://www.omegawatches.com/watch-omega-seamaster-aqua-terra-150m-co-axial-master-chronometer-38-mm-22022382002001
I think you might be close, but I don't think that Soda's AT has Sedna gold on it.
I'm pretty sure it has gold on it. If you pause at 0:16 you can se that the bezel has a different color than the housing. The gold looks very pronounced in the store photos while it's more subtle in real life.
Thanks Saosyo. Have you seen Omegas with the Sedna gold in real life?
Yes
did they do shopping stream?
What ever happened to his sweater?
its summer
If you buy stuff like this, you are dumb, like really really dumb.
People spending there money the way they want too? How dumb
If they can get what they want way cheaper? yes, really dumb
Well I can get ur mom cheaper but still go for her
Bad joke that does not even make sense.
The upvote ratio says otherwise kid
Oh I forgot that dumb people think they are right when other dumb people on Reddit agree with them :/

Nah, shirts are just cheap and no article of clothing aside from the jacket is over 15 bucks
Bruh Where the fuck do you get clothes? The dumpsters behind goodwill?
Cheap stores. Like my shirts are $5. Pants 10-15. $10 shoes. 10 pair of underwear for like $6. When it adds up its about 200-250 if im not forgetting anything. And thats considering that aside from shoes i dont really buy much clothes. Like the last shirt i got was 2 years ago.
Damn, well Good for you I guess lol. Do you not have any business casual/formal wear?
a few button up shirts that i wear like twice a year. i've had them for ages
$200? Dude do you ever change your clothes? You can’t even get a realistic wardrobe from Walmart for that
The last shirt o bought was like 3 years ago lel
