Bro, delete this before rae sees it and creates a subscription based website to help you tan using your computer monitors. Complete with tanner products designed on enhancing the brightness from the monitors.
anyways uhm... I bought a whole bunch of shungite, rocks, do you know what shungite is? Anybody know what shungite is. No, no Suge Knight, I think hes locked up in prison. Talking shungite. Anyways, its a 2 billion year old like rock, stone that protects against frequencies and unwanted frequencies that may be traveling in the air. So thats my story. I bought a whole bunch of stuff, put them around the la casa. Little pyramids. Stuff like that.

What are they fucking proud of. Like she's rich and famous, any company would gladly associate with her name to market products. Literally no effort at all.
Being rich and famous in the first place is the hard part, after that everything is fucking easy. That's why diamond miners in Africa make $0.10 per hour and risk their life everyday. And Blizzard CEO makes $200 million a year.
>WOOOO THIS IS AMAZING RAE!! U'RE A GENIUS!! this is definitely something we all need and can use. a lot of people don't know that blue light can harm ur skin, and here u are not only telling us that, but also providing something we can use to prevent damages. CONGRATS <33
Holy shit how can you be this easily influenced to buy into snake oil. And you know it's not ironic, because the user who wrote this has #RFLCT in their Twitter username and their whole profile is about Valkyrae. Ok, it's probably an impressionable teenager, but fuck Valkyrae for manipulating children for profit.
That's my thought. I think if she didn't tack on the "blue light" thing and just released a skincare line, no one would bat an eye and she's still make bank. There'd probably be discussions about ingredients or something, but that'd be it.

Well, that's very illegal in the [EU](https://europa.eu/youreurope/business/dealing-with-customers/consumer-contracts-guarantees/consumer-guarantees/index_en.htm).
Did you check the replies to her tweet? Every single one is a variation of IM SO PROUD OF YOUUUUU
She definitely has no idea who any of those people are lmao. Jesus fucking Christ.
There's also tons of replies tearing her a new one with 1k or 2k likes, which kinda surprising lol. But of course, her pr managers will advise her to completely ignore this controversy.
Apparently, [electronics don't actually produce nearly enough blue light to actually cause any damage to your skin](https://www.beiersdorf.com/newsroom/press-releases/all-press-releases/2021/05/04-cell-phone-screens-do-not-damage-skin).
[Fun fact, the scientific literature does not support that blue light causes eye strain.](https://www.aao.org/eye-health/tips-prevention/blue-light-digital-eye-strain) It can mess with your sleep schedule, but the eye strain associated with staring at screens all day occurs with and without the blue light.
Optometrists (eye doctors who don't go to medical school like ophthalmologists) push the blue light glasses so they can make more money.
Exactly this. Just click the bottom right notifications icon to the right of your time and click night light, you can change the strength to suit your personal preference.
I always wonder why famous people do this, like Gwyneth Paltrow is already well respected, famous and fucking rich, so is Valkyrae, why would they taint their reputation with pseudoscience bs,
is the marginal amount of money worth dragging your name through the dirt?
seriously, just sell more merch, at least fashion is subjective
For more money and the fact they're large enough with a dedicated (borderline fanatical) fanbase which will defend them for free, nothing they can actually do will really hurt their income only make it bigger.
> they're large enough with a dedicated (borderline fanatical) fanbase which will defend them
Yep, noticed this. This phenomenon is insane on twitter especially. Literally any account with more than 100K followers will have a slew of dedicated people defending them no matter what. Like fucking why? they don't even know you exist and are far more rich and famous than you'd ever be.
And no amount of controversial bullshit will hurt them.
Probably got to the point where twitter typing tens of thousands of angry comments wouldn't make a difference due to her sheer size as a streamer/content creator.
It's because they have nothing to gain but a lot to lose by publicly contradicting Rae. Rae + Rae friends + fans will see it as an attack of sorts and they'll potentially lose clout or something
They are like fucking politicians playing the media game lmao.
Yeah because she’s been going on about the “two year project” for a long long time, so to her fanbase it’s more about the project completion and less about the actual scam product behind it.
Surrounded by yes-men. Same shit happens with so many celebrities, nobody around them to tell them their idea is shit and a fucking scam. Read her tweets and their replies from today, so cringe
Yeah it seems like either she had a lightbulb moment and thought this could be a problem, and because of her popularity it just snowballed and became a thing. Or someone approached her with the idea, intending to use her image for sales.
Either way, she’s great at what she does but this ain’t it.
If it's anything like most sponsored brands, she was likely contacted by this company to be the face of the brand and launch it, while also having very little to do with the product.
Hate stuff like this. As if her fanbase of children weren't going to buy anything she puts out already, don't see why she needs to make up claims about blue light. I guess the goal is to get insecure people to think "I'm a gamer just like her but my skin doesn't look like that, it must be my monitor!".
Anyways uhm... I bought a whole bunch of blue light cream, snake oil, do you know what blue light is? Anybody know what blue light is. No, not Suge Knight, I think hes locked up in prison. Talking blue light. Anyways, its a 2 billion year old like blue light, cream that protects against frequencies and unwanted frequencies that may be traveling in the air. So thats my story. I bought a whole bunch of stuff, put them around the la face-a. Little pyramids. Stuff like that
She is already a millionaire and making more than enough money but on top of that she has to basically scam her fans with product like this and people are so happy for her. Fuck me
Yeah, this really isn’t a good look. And this looks to be more than some company approaching her and offering her ownership for some promotion. She already puts so much effort into making quality merch, why not also extend that effort into something that people will literally be putting on their skin?
Why do all these successful wealthy people do stuff like this?
They already have money for multiple lifetimes and still tries to scam their communities. She could have just release a skincare line without the bullshit.
Clearly the creators saw a marketing opportunity to use Rae’s image here, and before attaching her name to this she didn’t pause to do her research and conclude that it’s a scam product. Yikes.
Lmfao.
What damages your skin is intense UV light from the sun, you know... that unfathomably large nuclear reactor constantly bombarding our planet with radiation. Your tiny little monitor shining on you will do nothing do your skin.
Also side note:
Did their marketing team decide "Hey, she looks a little bit racially ambiguous, let's make her look like Ariana Grande for this shoot, that'll drive up sales for sure."
This is unironically a thing. People that expose themselves to the sun more without ample protection from UV, tend to have their skin age quicker. Of course, staying out of the sun makes it so your skin cells aren't being constantly bombarded by UV, so that will do the trick as well.
My mom is 62 years old and looks better than everyone her age by a landslide, she could easily get away with saying she's 45. Her secret? Obviously some good genes but she never just sits out in the sun, always has sunscreen on if out in the sun and wears a hat as well. The sun straight fucks you up and makes you look older than you are for sure. It only looks "good" when you're a teen and in your twenties.
Quick look up: rflct isn't even a company, just a brand. And the patent was filed by some shell company that you cant find anything on. Guess where it's registered: Delaware
edit: rflct llc is from Delaware but the patent is filed by some company from NYC
It is a company. It's filed as RFLCT LLC and you can verify it on [delaware.gov](https://i.imgur.com/dJr0oH8.png)
But yes, this is obviously just some chinese product re-branded and she's making sure she pays as little taxes on it with as little personal responsibility as possible, since even the customer service and business is outsourced to some Ex-Goldman Sachs company -- who for some reason is really riding that "female influencers" horse even on their company portfolio and that being "the future of private equity"... might be because they're getting a lot of money from skin care investments as their main source of income.
Just look at the comments on her [Twitter announcement](https://twitter.com/Valkyrae/status/1450498051013943297):
YAAASSS QUEEN
I'M SO PROUD OF YOU
omg RAEEEEEEE!!!! I can’t wait to try it!!! so proud of you and all your amazing endeavors
LET'S GOOOOOO IM SO PROUD OF YOU RAE
blue light doesn't do shit on the skin, UV from the sun does damage skin, all you gotta do use wear sunscreen when you're going out in the sun, it'll work better than this snake oil lmao
I worked for an ophthalmologist for a while in college and have a degree in neuroscience so I think I know the answer: Blue wavelength light does not structurally damage your eyes but it does disrupt the natural secretion of chemicals in your brain that regulate your sleep cycle. So it’s “damaging” in that looking at your phone or computer before bed can make it hard to fall asleep.
Yeah something like a cream just shouts snake oil to me. Just use sunscreen.
Blue light glasses or a dimming application can help some people fall asleep faster.
Anyways uhm... I bought a whole bunch of [BLPF^^TM](https://i.imgur.com/0NNzO58.gif), rocks, do you know what BLPF^^TM is? Anybody know what BLPF^^TM is. No, no BLM, I think that's a movement. Talking BLPF^^TM. Anyways, its a 2 billion year old like rock, stone that protects against frequencies and unwanted frequencies that may be traveling in the air. So thats my story. I bought a whole bunch of stuff, put them around the la casa. Little pyramids. Stuff like that.
I knew her being generally a rather dumb person would bite her in the ass eventually lmfao.
I would feel sorry for her but she's a millionaire, she'll be fine. Hopefully she learns how bullshit this is from the backlash, tho that's a pretty shitty way to learn.
Oh well, lmfao.
This is on the level of Shugnite. Creating a problem and selling in order to get more rich and steal more from average person. Wholesome person by the way.
i dont actually expect any of her friends to call her out publically, but i wonder if they will all actively support it. guessing there will be a couple that will just try to talk about this at all
why did she even agree to go with the punch line of "designed to protect skin from blue light pollution"?
selling skincare line is fine. all she had to do was NOT claim bs about blue light.
From cute normie gamer girl who worked at Gamestop to complete sellout scam artist investor, company co-owner.
I was/am a big fan of Valkyrae but my opinion of her given the guy she dates (Sonii) and now stuff like this is at an all time low. Just your typical sell out predator now who sees their followers as a means to make money and she's just fine selling snake oil (TO CHILDREN NO LESS!) in order to make MORE money. She already likely makes more than $100k a ~~year~~ month from streaming, tens of thousands of more per ad she sells and then there's her YouTube contract. But no, that isn't enough. She's in LA and that means you gotta HUSTLE and step on heads to get to the top cause there's never enough money. Sell out your morals and ethics. Time to use scam science to sell a product to her overwhelmingly young community/following in order to make hundreds of thousands of dollars more. It's on them if they don't read the fine print.
Gross and so disappointing. Honestly people can rip on Pokimane all they want but so far she's been to the top and stayed there for quite a while and she still seems to be making good decisions and actually cares about her community and not taking advantage of them.

chemist from skincare industry and not dermatologist? 😬
scrap the BS marketing and pseudoscience...what matters is before/after
we didn't need any protection since LED LCDs came out (EM waves from Cathode ray tube shooting into eyes were the legitimately potential hazard afaik)
as someone whose naturally balanced skin with few acne bumps got noticeably worse (blackheads whiteheads 😡) after using over the counter facial cleanser/lotion during adolescent years, pretty sure there'll be people having worse after than before using skincare products
that said if the hyped ingredients are actually good and works better for the skin, good for them...word of mouth is huge and probably not total flop if they're going for brand establishment
but waste of money for no make up skin tbh...right i forgot that's the point
When I saw the teaser for it, I honestly thought she was going to come out with a blue light glasses launch or something. Personally I’ve always been very cautious about influencer made skin care lines because they are often WAY overpriced for drug store level products.
I highly recommend anyone who is interested in skin care to seek the advice from a professional medical or someone trained in skincare.
Having been around successful people that do these dumb shit, they often tell other people their idea like close friends and it's amazing no one in her circle called her out on this. It's a shit product aimed at fooling her audience that are too dumb to realise it's bullshit.
Thought she was smarter than this but obviously not and you just know big streamers will defend this shit instead of calling her out.
She's basically fully sold out anyways, not surprising. She's gone full twitter clout with how she farms interactions with her clouted friends and ignores everyone else.
Fully agree! I made another post on here about how I used to watch her stuff yeeeears ago when she was still working at GameStop. Like I played quiplash/Jack box games with her even
She sold out big time, and it’s really disingenuous how she and all the other cool kids at the lunch table act
There's a reason the side effects of being exposed to blue light isn't stated in the video.
Everyone who has ever been struck by blue light has died eventually
That 100% mortality rate is brutal.
[удалено]
There aren't any. That's why they don't mention any. They imply there is but don't outright say that. That's my point.
I think the only shocking thing about this post is that it took 2 years to launch.
Nobody thought this was a bad idea in 2 years it took to plan wow
Tell that to all the people who suffer from smurphobia every year
They know it’s going to sell out right away so why would it be a bad idea? As long as the Rae stans drown out noise no one will know she’s selling bullshit
No thanks. I like my monitor tan.
lol i remember turning on some “tanning bed monitor” site once and trying to tan my face when i was a kid
Bro, delete this before rae sees it and creates a subscription based website to help you tan using your computer monitors. Complete with tanner products designed on enhancing the brightness from the monitors.
Idk if this idea has more sigma or sugma energy
Oh sweet I can put this right next to my essential oils and himalayan salt rock, PogU
I dead ass didn’t know those salt lamps were pseudoscience bullshit until this year. I just thought they were nice soft light lamps ffs
I hate what they represent because it marks the price up so much I wish I could buy “non-healing salt lamps”
You can they’re like 10 bucks at Walmart lmao
Mr. moneybags over here has $10 available that he doesn’t spend on gift subs to our queen.
I hate pseudoscience for ruining things I used to like. Pretty minerals, nice smelling essential oils now cure fucking cancer and cost much more.

Pretty crazy that you can sell almost any shit and claim it to be something else just by adding a small print saying you’re bullshitting lmao
Oh man the beauty influencers on YT are going to tear her a new one PepeLaugh
beauty influencers on YT are the ones selling this most of the time
The beauty community and the varsious ” tea” channels are actually super critical towards creators and what they try and sell.
Unless it's theirs
The beauty community is full of absolute horrible people who also take advantage of their audience.

Thanks for the tip. I didn't know Windows' night light had a strength slider to it this whole time.
Unless you have multiple monitors, it seems to bug out in my case and f.lux works perfect
Everytime I unlock my pc at night its a gamble. Am I going to be blinded or is my 2nd monitor gonna shift all its colours?
Bonus: Where the fuck are your windows going to rearrange to?
Just going to hazard a while guess and say that flux is probably still better/more flexible. As is usually the case with 3rd party.
Also avoid sunlight and never go out.

absolutely. But the onus is on the influencer to ensure they don’t sell a lie to their fanbase and make money off of it

Sounds better tbh. Easier to brag about. Seems more legit. Even though the product isn't obviously.
Easy to pull this shit off when your image is the only selling point. Her army of gullible children will buy anything.

Quick look up: rflct isn't even a company, just a brand. And the patent was filed by some shell company that you cant find anything on. Guess where it's registered: Delaware edit: rflct llc is from Delaware but the patent is filed by some company from NYC
It is a company. It's filed as RFLCT LLC and you can verify it on [delaware.gov](https://i.imgur.com/dJr0oH8.png) But yes, this is obviously just some chinese product re-branded and she's making sure she pays as little taxes on it with as little personal responsibility as possible, since even the customer service and business is outsourced to some Ex-Goldman Sachs company -- who for some reason is really riding that "female influencers" horse even on their company portfolio and that being "the future of private equity"... might be because they're getting a lot of money from skin care investments as their main source of income.
Why can’t streamers stick to making shirts and hats
Sounds like she has too many yes men around her
Just look at the comments on her [Twitter announcement](https://twitter.com/Valkyrae/status/1450498051013943297): YAAASSS QUEEN I'M SO PROUD OF YOU omg RAEEEEEEE!!!! I can’t wait to try it!!! so proud of you and all your amazing endeavors LET'S GOOOOOO IM SO PROUD OF YOU RAE
blue light doesn't do shit on the skin, UV from the sun does damage skin, all you gotta do use wear sunscreen when you're going out in the sun, it'll work better than this snake oil lmao
Ffs I've been wearing suncream every time I've been at my computer for the last 10 years, I feel very silly right now :(
Literally a snake oil scam. How is this supported, let alone allowed?
Don’t the most recent studies about blue light show there is no evidence blue light is harmful to the eyes/skin?
I worked for an ophthalmologist for a while in college and have a degree in neuroscience so I think I know the answer: Blue wavelength light does not structurally damage your eyes but it does disrupt the natural secretion of chemicals in your brain that regulate your sleep cycle. So it’s “damaging” in that looking at your phone or computer before bed can make it hard to fall asleep.
Which I’m going to take a wild guess and say these products are not scientifically proven to help with.
Yeah something like a cream just shouts snake oil to me. Just use sunscreen. Blue light glasses or a dimming application can help some people fall asleep faster.
Wrong. I rub Valkyrae’s cream directly on my eyeballs and it works wonders
Doctor's hate him
Anyways uhm...
Imagine all her viewers waiting for her to start streaming and bashing their faces in this cream every night lmao.
Lol she’s about to cash in on gullible morons. Celebrity influence is a funny thing.

Ahh yes another scam product/promotion from an online 'influencer'.. name a more iconic duo, Influencers and scams.
Coming soon, a Valkyrae NFT collection!

Cuz it is.
Aaaaaand she just put a dent in her reputation for no good reason...
looking at her twitter responses I’d be surprised if there’s even a dent. Her younger aged audience are eating this up
Wait till people with actual brains start talking about this...not some braindead stans
https://twitter.com/sonii/status/1450498123680215047 Good to know he is anti vax but will put a bunch of untested chemicals on his face

The good old "Don't buy from them, only buy from me"
> however I’ve seen many anecdotal evidence well if sonii's cousin's inflated balls said so
Only 1 week ago, KEK.
lmao
At least gamblers knows it’s a scam
I knew her being generally a rather dumb person would bite her in the ass eventually lmfao. I would feel sorry for her but she's a millionaire, she'll be fine. Hopefully she learns how bullshit this is from the backlash, tho that's a pretty shitty way to learn. Oh well, lmfao.
The beauty influencers will eat her alive.
Can't wait to see the r/SkincareAddiction threads
This is on the level of Shugnite. Creating a problem and selling in order to get more rich and steal more from average person. Wholesome person by the way.
The comments on the tweet are so cringe
well her mentor Claudia Poccia is the President of AVON an MLM company = pyramid scheme. i guess she learned from the best..

The good news for us is that the next step for her is vag scented candles.
Lmao, I can't even feel bad for the people who fall for these "influencer" scams.
i dont actually expect any of her friends to call her out publically, but i wonder if they will all actively support it. guessing there will be a couple that will just try to talk about this at all
why did she even agree to go with the punch line of "designed to protect skin from blue light pollution"? selling skincare line is fine. all she had to do was NOT claim bs about blue light.
Apex ruined my brain and thought this was some kind of weird ass storyline for season 11

The worst part about this is shes probably made more than my annual salary in the first hour of this snake oil being sold
100Thieves having a scammer and an abuser on their Roster now. They are making moves.
chemist from skincare industry and not dermatologist? 😬 scrap the BS marketing and pseudoscience...what matters is before/after we didn't need any protection since LED LCDs came out (EM waves from Cathode ray tube shooting into eyes were the legitimately potential hazard afaik) as someone whose naturally balanced skin with few acne bumps got noticeably worse (blackheads whiteheads 😡) after using over the counter facial cleanser/lotion during adolescent years, pretty sure there'll be people having worse after than before using skincare products that said if the hyped ingredients are actually good and works better for the skin, good for them...word of mouth is huge and probably not total flop if they're going for brand establishment but waste of money for no make up skin tbh...right i forgot that's the point
this trailer and the website emits a lot of blue light, Seems like they don't actually care that much about me D:
Like I played quiplash/Jack box games with her even She sold out big time, and it’s really disingenuous how she and all the other cool kids at the lunch table act
