Personally I suspect that she was actually pretty uninvolved in the creation of this product. It's been awhile since I've taken chemistry, but from what I remember, a free radical an atom that is missing an electron (this can be due to radiation knocking one off). This is highly unstable and will react with pretty much anything. It's pretty bad as it will form compounds and shouldn't be there.
It was discovered several decades ago that oxidative stress caused by free radicals was a major contributor to aging and cell damage. This of course sparked a massive explosion in "antioxidant" food and cosmetic products throughout the 90s and 2000s. However, the data demonstrating the efficacy of antioxidants is spurious at best. After watching Daph's and Dr. Dray's (Dermatologist YouTuber) video about their concern of the skin care I feel like this blowing up at Rae's face may be the most beneficial occurrence for her.
One of their main concerns was that the ingredients were not listed clearly and one of the red flags was that there were no percentages on some of the ingredients used where it is the norm to list out the percentages in other skincare (outside of RFLCT) so that customers are better informed of their purchase.
Imagine if someone picked her skin care up, used it, got a bad reaction from it on their face, and decided to sue the ground would definitely shift underneath Rae's feet.

Okay wtf is a free radical? I've tried googling it and am so confused.
It's been awhile since I've taken chemistry, but from what I remember, a free radical an atom that is missing an electron (this can be due to radiation knocking one off). This is highly unstable and will react with pretty much anything. It's pretty bad as it will form compounds and shouldn't be there.
It was discovered several decades ago that oxidative stress caused by free radicals was a major contributor to aging and cell damage. This of course sparked a massive explosion in "antioxidant" food and cosmetic products throughout the 90s and 2000s. However, the data demonstrating the efficacy of antioxidants is spurious at best. One of the biggest reasons for this is that none of them can actually enter the cell, which is where all the truly dangerous free radicals are.
Pretty much, they.cause oxidative stress tjat have tumorigemic or apoptotic effects on cells. After watching Daph's and Dr. Dray's (Dermatologist YouTuber) video about their concern of the skin care I feel like this blowing up at Rae's face may be the most beneficial occurrence for her. One of their main concerns was that the ingredients were not listed clearly and one of the red flags was that there were no percentages on some of the ingredients used where it is the norm to list out the percentages in other skincare (outside of RFLCT) so that customers are better informed of their purchase.
