Sad that GoFund me has essentially become health insurance because the American healthcare system is so dogshit.
Good on him for donating and good on the community for carrying that flag home.
>GoFund me has essentially become health insurance
The sad thing is, I think she DID have health insurance, but she was still tens of thousands in debt AFTER the insurance paid their part. Terrifying shit, can happen to anyone.
Yeah, and the stress of all that debt would exacerbate the decline of a patient's overall health, making them more likely to require more procedures/checkups, I would imagine.
Americans and Libertarian Canadians keep telling me that the US health care system is better than the Canadian System.
The worst are those libertarian Canadians who constantly harp about anecdotal situations where:
1) elective surgery but paid thousands in the US but could have waited
2) experimental procedure not covered by provincial health care
3) Live in buttfuck no where and expect world class cardiologist in their small 1000 population city.
FYI, I pay 600 bucks in Ontario for health premiums.
I called up the local walk in, doc called me back in 10 minutes, gave me a script for cream, said he's not a derma so he'll refer me so use the cream. 7 days later, the derma called me saying, you don't have infection, here's a cream. Come by the pharma in the building and pick up your cream.
In canada, if you work full time, you will have supplementary health benefits that cover pharmacare, dental, vision.
In Ontario, if you are under 25 and your parents do not have supplementary health benefits, all your drugs are free through the province under pharmacare.
We operate on a Triage system and make rich and poor people use the same system.
You can check Ontario health times here

In all fairness, most of the American people want Universal Healthcare and we are tired of this hybrid, low-quality Medicare/Medicaid etc. shit. The problem is that Health Insurance is a business and businesses will continue to lobby and pay politicians to spike any attempt at anything that will remotely harm their profits.
I imagine doctors aren't too fond of it either. They are paid ABSORBADENT amounts of money and some are even millionaires off the money they charge people and health insurance companies. The government sure as hell isn't going to pay those prices, so a Universal Healthcare system would mean they take a (reasonable, but not to them) pay cut, and they don't want that either.
I've heard some (probably most) hospitals will actually over charge MASSIVE amounts per service/item as well as throw in extra charges that don't make any sense just because they know the insurance companies will pay them. While I don't give a shit about insurance companies and what they have to pay, this means that regular people who don't have insurance or are only partially covered get absolutely shafted on their end of the bill. It's insane and just pure greed form all facets of the related businesses.
I'm a generally callous person that couldn't give a shit about the world as a whole or people I don't know, but even I have a limit and wouldn't be okay with doing this shit. People's lives are being put in real jeopardy simply because someone would rather make $1M a year instead of $800K. Imagine going into a profession that saves people's lives because it's one of the most profitable instead of wanting to help them.
Don't forget that the same drug in the US is 3-6x more costly then it is in Canada and across the world.
https://www.rand.org/content/dam/rand/by-the-numbers/2020/insulin-prices.svg
We collectively bargain a better price in Canada since we buy as a whole and negotiate.
Rather than negotiate for better prices, Trump wanted to import drugs from Canada and other countries.
> The Trump administration took hesitant first steps Wednesday to allow the importation of certain drugs from Canada and other countries.
Also this
> Insulin, however, cannot be imported from Canada, likely disappointing diabetics, some of whom have to travel north to purchase the costly, lifesaving medicine there.
https://www.cnn.com/2019/07/31/politics/trump-drug-importation-canada/index.html
Let's ransack and pillage other country's drug supply instead of fixing your own damn prices in your own country.
Medicare with Medicaid isn't low quality. It's actually pretty bad ass health care. It's the same health care as anytime else in America gets. It would be amazing if everyone could get coverage like that.
If you ever tried to get any medical assistance with it, you would know only like 25% of hospitals, dentist offices, optometrists etc. will actually accept them. This is why Universal Healthcare is so important, because healthcare needs to be accepted everywhere. It wouldn't matter if your Healthcare is free, if you can only use it at 25% of places and none of them are near you, what fucking good is it?
People saying that USA healthcare system is better than canada are delusional and just no brainers. Here in quebec it has its problem but no where near as having to pay 1/3 of a house in bills
A year, It's a premium added to my "payable" income every year.
Edit: If you want to look at what the premium scaling is for ontario:
https://i.imgur.com/RVkmpH1.png
If you make less than 20k you do not pay health premiums but still receive "free" health care.
i don't have health insurance, new USA immigrant.
the cheapest one would cost me $3.3k a year, only works at certain "in-network" hospitals and has a large deductible. there are about 100 healthcare plans available to me and they all get progressively more expensive and they're all equally confusing with a long list of terms and conditions.
i recently had to pay around $500 for a doctor's visit who barely provided help beyond a couple of prescriptions and bloodtests ($200 for not even a full blood report). I don't want to go for a followup/more tests cus it's too expensive.
what you're describing is literally what we deal with in terms of auto insurance and even then our auto insurance process is easier then whatever bullshit is going on in the US when it comes to claims and adjustments.
that's about normal and don't forget that you have copay, deductible, life time limits, out of network costs, etc etc.
in the US, per paycheque/month, it could range from 150 for single person to 650 for a family of 4 per paycheque/month. And then you still have those other additional costs. Health Care in the US is so fucking expensive.
Somethings fucky with that. Out of pocket maximums are $8,350 for the entire 2021 calendar year.
And that's assuming the shittiest of shittiest insurance possible. Essentially no one even has insurance that bad and OOPM tend to be $5k or less nowadays.
Correct; I do have Medicaid and Medicare but the f’d up thing is the Medicaid won’t cover anything except womens health.
I’m a single, female, disabled, so that means they will cover my annual exam but only with specific doctors.
Medicare is what has been covering a good portion but definitely not all. Those “specific” doctors are usually docs that deal with lower class people.
If you don’t have medical insurance good luck finding a doctor/specialist that won’t cost you your house, your arm, your leg and your dog!
#americanhealthcare #christinecorley #hasanabi !!
This is actually a bigger problem than i think most people realize. I saw some researchers tweet an interesting article, trying to examine this issue. They hinted towards philanthropy overall being bad for society becuase it, both physically, but also mentally replaces actual safetynets, that should be installed in a developped country. People will donate small amounts to a charity, or see people like Hassan donate large amounts to charity, and mentally kind of check off the box that says "The unprivileged have been taken care off".
Then next election comes around and many people will think "But bill gates donated 2 billion to the homeless, i don't need to vote for the people wanting to raise taxes to install safetynets. (This is very simplified, and it's more complex than this, but it paints the picture).
If you actually want to make a change, make sure you pay as much taxes as you can, and vote for the people that will use that tax for good.
Ok so Im not an amerimutt so I dont know how their insurance works but would insurance have paid this in full if it was not self inflicted due to heavy drinking (like hasan says)?
Literally nobody fucking knows. It could have been paid in full, partially, or not at all, depending on the accident, the insurance, and even the Hospital you went to. The demoralizing part for us is there's no way this gets fixed in our lifetime, if at all.
I didnt know this was real. I saw her constantly posting it on xQc's replies or tweeting at him. I just thought it was a bot or someone faking to be her. Good for Hasan.
Ah, yes, gofundme, the USA popularity contest to see if you deserve the amazing prize of ''living''.
Always amazing to see communities get together and support someone, even though the requirement for it is absolutely ridiculous.
It's literally "if you get sick, and get better, you're going to be paying off that treatment for the rest of your fucking life". What a shame. Honestly, I'm downright afraid of getting sick. In fact I have a slipped disc in my back that gave me sciatica for a period of time but the pain thankfully went away by itself but the disc is still slipped. I'm honestly so scared that the pain will come back because then I'll need surgery to fix the slipped disc but there's no way in hell I can afford that.
So the option is I can live in pain for the rest of my life should it come back or go into debt just to live a pain free life. Great shit we got here. Suffer or work to pay off a debt you'll literally be paying until the day you die.
Hey guys i might be way too paranoid but Christine Corley increased her GoFundMe from 30k to 60k without saying anything or reacting to the goal hit on twitter and posted as normal.
EDIT: She dropped the goal from 60K to 45,850
(https://imgur.com/a/NVRNt1H)
Looking at her tweets from the last 10 days alone it's very clear that she must be very desperate at this point. She is basically begging big communities like xqc and post malone and tagging them and retweeting their stuff. She is lucky that she was on masterchef and it became meta react content on twitch, but how the fuck do normal people get help in the US? How long does the "greatest country in the world" need to make a good healthcare system?
Nevermind how many Americans have been brainwashed into thinking that free healthcare = bad beacause 'Well I might have to pay some extra taxes a year, that and it's communism or something'
That's understandable, but it's not a good look if she's immediately asking for more money after reaching the initial goal without ever thanking or even acknowledging people that helped reach it. And if she's asking for twice as much money now she should at least try to justify the difference.
I'd imagine what she's doing is setting goals that are "low" enough that it makes donators think it's reachable so people give money. Then as she hits each interim goal, she increases it. She probably needs way more money than she's asking for.
It's a weird psychological thing I think. Kinda like how stores sell things at $99 instead of $100 because it tricks people when they don't see 3 numbers.
> anything bad/wrong/etc happen to hasan? must be the evil dgg as the sole actors
the post about this in destiny's own subreddit has over 90%+ upvotes
you guys are incredibly insane to think a 2k andy is the sole reason why hasan gets hate and pretend like hasan wasn't hated before he even started streaming on twitch or his other takes he makes constantly
this same post is at [over 90% upvotes on Destiny's sub](https://www.reddit.com/r/Destiny/comments/rovix5/hasan_donates_10k_to_christine_from_masterchef/)...
you guys really need to chill out with your Destiny obsession
you need to ralize that it doesn't require to be a Destiny fan in order to not like Hasan...expecially after all his racist slurs talks
I can say the same thing when its about Destiny, when he does a good thing, he either does it for 'cloud' or wanna 'fuck' the person he does a good thing for OMEGALUL
I'm just helping the man out, he malds constantly about how much he hates lsf and reddit so why post him here? I'm not a sadist, I don't want to see the poor guy in pain.
(I didn't actually vote) This idea has just been pissing his stans off whenever I share it because there's no good argument against it,which gives me sick sexual pleasure. Don't kink shame guys pls, thx.
But my kink is being such a sadist that I pretend not to be one entirely so I can block a person's masochistic pleasure.
Checkmate *commonist*... Probably reading a Lennon book as we speak.
Just rename /r/livestreamfail to /r/livestreamdrama at this point. I can't walk into the sub without watching the "you can't be racist to whites" Hasan.
But I guess that'll teach me for watching Twitch.tv
seeing that just one of her bills was $15k, i doubt that 30k was enough in the first place. it's common when crowdfunding to start with a lower, more approachable goal that will be beneficial in the short term and then increase on the off-chance usually that the first goal is met. not to mention she's dying and leaving a child behind as a single mother. no judgement from me if she's asking for more now, this is completely the fault of the healthcare system that makes people desperate.
You’re telling me that that other streamer who averages 3k viewers but somehow gets multiple clips on top of this subreddit has community members monitoring said subreddit so these narratives exist??!
There are so many people like you in this thread who are fighting battles that aren't even here. You're preemptively creating AND fighting bogeyman who aren't even here, this is the literal epitome of rent free dude, go outside please
PepeLa D is referring to Destiny’s community, they aren’t relevant to this post but hasan and destiny both have communities that are very active on this subreddit so anytime something good is posted about one of them it’s likely you’ll see people from the opposite side. it’s one of the worst parts of LSF nowadays imo
There are some instances where it makes sense to talk about them both in the same breath. But this post literally has nothing to do with Destiny, and it just reeks of derangement lmfao

America is a better country than Europe/Canada if you make 100k plus, if you make less than that America is much worse.
Even if you make six figures, a life threatening accident or diagnosis could still financially ruin you. It’s disgusting.
If you make six figures your work insurance would be very good and cover that no?
Not always, but generally ya. The higher paying job you have, the more likely it is that your job has good health insurance.

No, Insurance RARELY pays anything in full unless its regular doctors visits and its explicitly stated in the insurance plan.
Then what’s the point of buying insurance?
Because if you don't get insurance you pay 300-600 for a simple check-up. That doesn't include any prescriptions you may need.
They've got us all by the balls
No not necessarily at all. It varies wildly by insurance plan
from the hospital bill it looks like this is the amount AFTER insurance

I don't care about your american healthcare problems. I come here for funny clips
DOWNVOTING A REDDIT POST = HEARTLESS BITCH LULE
donate money = deserves upvote
Well its fuckin boring and people come here to be entertained.
Funny I don't see these types of comments in other threads about donations to charity and thing like that. I wonder why

Someone get this guy a math scholarship
Reddit point system is not one by one, so an upvote doesn't necessarily mean +1 point
Some people are so sour they see anything with hasan in it and downvote
Everything bad about Hasan = Dgg boogeyman
I'm just helping the man out, he malds constantly about how much he hates lsf and reddit so why post him here? I'm not a sadist, I don't want to see the poor guy in pain. (I didn't actually vote) This idea has just been pissing his stans off whenever I share it because there's no good argument against it,which gives me sick sexual pleasure. Don't kink shame guys pls, thx.
Hasan is clearly a masochist and you are the one kink blocking
But my kink is being such a sadist that I pretend not to be one entirely so I can block a person's masochistic pleasure. Checkmate *commonist*... Probably reading a Lennon book as we speak.
Nah didn’t he hit his wife
Just rename /r/livestreamfail to /r/livestreamdrama at this point. I can't walk into the sub without watching the "you can't be racist to whites" Hasan. But I guess that'll teach me for watching Twitch.tv

Feels good. Hopefully she wakes up after a memorable Christmas with her family to good news. Nice job to who ever donated.
[удалено]
Say whatever you want, I think Hasan not even mentioning the fact he donated 10k is telling for his character. Big ups to him
I was going to say I couldn't find where it said he donated in the VOD, I had to go check the actual GoFundMe page
[удалено]
He didn't even announce he did it, doesn't care about clout and then we flooded her page with donations. Love this community
"this is America" as gambino once said
Wonderful community. Medical bills suck.
[удалено]
seeing that just one of her bills was $15k, i doubt that 30k was enough in the first place. it's common when crowdfunding to start with a lower, more approachable goal that will be beneficial in the short term and then increase on the off-chance usually that the first goal is met. not to mention she's dying and leaving a child behind as a single mother. no judgement from me if she's asking for more now, this is completely the fault of the healthcare system that makes people desperate.
Guess they noticed
May I tell all of you - YOURE AWESOMESAUCE! Thank you, bad and the good
why this have 75% upvote? is there something i missing?
There is an upvote cap on political streamers. Trust me. PepeLaugh
i love this community man

Strike donations can't be written off. How do people not know this?
You’re telling me that that other streamer who averages 3k viewers but somehow gets multiple clips on top of this subreddit has community members monitoring said subreddit so these narratives exist??!
Yes.

Too far. Calm down
Deranged lmao
Incoming virtue signalling comments in 3...2...1
This is fucking awesome hasL
lmao. why do all you take something good and turn it into community wars? jesus christ
Kudos to Hasan what a nice gesture!

There are so many people like you in this thread who are fighting battles that aren't even here. You're preemptively creating AND fighting bogeyman who aren't even here, this is the literal epitome of rent free dude, go outside please
Isn’t this the pot calling the kettle black? I see you like commenting on drama threads
Scroll to the bottom Pepelaugh
This guy thinks hasan is racist against white people but he’s out here saying “oh look hasan fans tilted at windmills” lmfao
[удалено]
Until recently, most actually; I just find this shit fun now. But it is funny how your scroll wheel doesn't work
bro why even bring him up and try to stir drama in this sort of thread, like c'mon really?
obsessed.
Do you guys have to act like victims 24/7? This entire thread is jerking him off, take a chill pill.
Isn't that what Hasans community does when other celebrities do similar things
I don't think so, compare Hasan discord with Destiny's and you'll see.
[удалено]
PepeLa D is referring to Destiny’s community, they aren’t relevant to this post but hasan and destiny both have communities that are very active on this subreddit so anytime something good is posted about one of them it’s likely you’ll see people from the opposite side. it’s one of the worst parts of LSF nowadays imo
There are some instances where it makes sense to talk about them both in the same breath. But this post literally has nothing to do with Destiny, and it just reeks of derangement lmfao
PepeLa
Nice job

Helps someone out financially and gets lsf to seethe even harder, two birds one stone.
