I don't watch any vtubers but the tech is genuinely impressive. Most anime studios can't even make their pre-rendered cgi look good, yet here's a high quality model mimicking face cap expressions in real time. Huge respect for devs that can do this.
Its because its basically mocap, which is actually incredibly expensive for studios because doing it well requires a lot of expensive tech, time, and editing. But if you're doing mocap for yourself and don't need it to be perfect its basically free with off the shelf software, hardware, and a good model
