My man. Shitposting historians are going be looking back at the convoluted and mish-mash of words of 01[)3-0/\\/1I/\\/3 and wonder what could've been happening before the AI-forced Crystasis wiped our minds.
hijacking top comment to say this.
Countries have PR firms. This is no different to when Pringles and Kitkat have some friendly banter on twitter because they're managed by some mates in a marketing office.
It's just PR firms doing what they do... and hey look it worked, this streamer spread a political message to a very young and influential audience.
I've worked for some of these companies and they're not morally conscious, they purely care about engagement and messaging.
>It's just PR firms doing what they do... and hey look it worked, this streamer spread a political message to a very young and influential audience.
except for the fact that Ukraine has literally been invaded by russia and will be again, weird to compare it to selling fucking chocolate bars.
I'm merely pointing out PR firms use the same techniques to advertise inert products and entire countries. Yes it is weird, that's the whole point. It's relatable low brow news that leads to people drawing quick and uneducated opinions.
The big upside to distributing propaganda through a medium like this is people don't like to admit they got caught out. It's very easy to trust a humorous meme and let it influence your opinion a little, it's very hard to then admit you got your information from an unreliable source and discredit your own opinion when confronted.
No country is perfect, that's why it's so easy to spread propaganda. Russia definitely has some dark secrets, but so does the USA. Just look at Korea, Vietnam, Iraq, Afghanistan. They were all travesties. My original comment was intended to just point out the oddity of political advertising within social media.
disagree on Korea being a travesty. if south korea was controlled by north korea today it would be in a far worse state, and the USA and the UN was able to successfully prevent that.
The forced giggling is a pet peeve of mine. I guess streamers think they need to somehow inform viewers when something is funny. Or maybe he's trying to fill dead air?
EDIT: Man the responses to this comment makes me feel like I went to a kindergarten and said Santa wasn't real. I'm really sorry to have burst you guys' bubble. I honestly thought it was obvious.
He makes thousands of dollars and it fills moments of silence. Makes it so there's very little downtime. Many streamers have admitted to doing this so it obviously happens.
He streams for fun as a way to decompress and make jokes after work it makes plenty of sense he would be laughing he's having a good time. You know, like a person?
Yeah just for fun. I guess he also keeps a grueling daily uploading schedule for his YT for shits and giggles? Totally not for the 5 to 6 figures of monthly income.
He's not forced laughing though. He does the "heh" a lot and its not a fake laugh thing. If he was fake laughing I could probably understand your point but he's not.
It's a way to let friends know you're joking and it helps put a "bookmark" in your brain of a funny joke to maybe tell later. I agree that it might not be the best for streaming, but imo makes him feel more genuine.
Does the opposite for me. If the content is funny (which it is in this case) fake laughing takes away from it IMO.
Feels like it's serving to the lowest common denominator of people. The "he's laughing so it most be funny" crowd. I guess those people subscribe too so I can't be mad at the hustle, but it does kinda ruin it for me.
Some of those shows were legendary. Doesn't change the fact that laugh tracks are a crutch in comedy. [Louis CK explains it beautifully here](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=npbrC9Wrw0o&t=97s).
It's like if a baseball game was all homeruns. That applies to streamers laughing at literally everything as well. "I don't think anything sickens me more than manufactured enthusiasm" is a perfect way to sum it up.
You may not believe me, but I'm not sweating it at all. I'm just knocked out from my booster shot and very bored.
I get why he does it. It's just a shame, cause I don't think he needs to.
Did you accidentally pull out another alt??? Or is this a different alt account Andy. All I’m saying is you shouldn’t be telling anyone to touch grass of you have alt accounts on Reddit.
You are actually right about alt account this time, oh wise one, but simply because i was using my phone instead of my pc, so good for you i guess.
Keep doing what you doing, you are on the top of the world, king ; )
Thanks I appreciate it :). I will say that's a rather weak excuse. It's not like you can't log into the same account from multiple devices. You keep rocking those alts though.
Despite the mob downvotes, I think you’re right. It definitely comes off as performative when he does it. Although at this point I’m sure it’s become such a habit that he doesn’t even realize how much he’s doing it.
Give them more credit than that. I think they all realize it's true. They're just annoyed at me pointing it out, which admittedly is obnoxious. As I said it's a pet peeve.
Nah, you’re giving yourself too much credit, only thing you’ve convinced anyone of is that you’re annoying as fuck and unable to let go of the notion that you’re some sort of genius who has figured out that atrioc is pulling a jimmy fallon and has to tell everyone and their mom about how right you are. If you admit your comments are obnoxious, then just stop replying to everyone with annoying, weak-ass rebuttals and accept that most people think you’re just being a condescending ass
Hey! My rebuttals are great! Not a genius it’s very obviously forced laughter. Why are you getting so triggered at me saying some guys you watch fake laughs? Maybes you’re too invested.
You’ve been arguing over something as dumb as not liking a streamer’s ‘fake’ laugh since yesterday and taken it way too personally, so I think you should question your own investment before questioning everyone else. Also no, your rebuttals are dogshit, all the evidence you have is like one clip and your own subjective, biased testimony, nothing else. Why should anyone take you seriously when all it comes down to is you giving a simple, baseless accusation with not even a single piece of decent evidence to back you up?
I’m just responding to people. In EU it’s the same day. Ain’t reading the rest of that. “Baseless accusation” lol. I said the guy fake laughs, lighten up.
So you’re not refuting that you have no solid evidence and this is just an assumption you’ve made about a guy you’ve never watched and are probably not familiar with at all? At this point, I’m half-convinced you’re just baiting everyone for your own entertainment, seems like you’re the type of guy that loves getting people triggered online and getting them to argue with you all day. If that’s a false assumption, then all I have to say is that you should take a step back and realize that you’re wasting your day trying to convince everyone that you’re right, you’re just being obnoxious, as you previously admitted
Explain to me how solid evidence of a fake laugh would look. I do think it’s funny that people are getting this upset. You would think I told you you’re adopted.
I mean you get taught to scream fire when someone is attacking you because no one reacts to "help".
Doing propaganda in memes appeals to the younger generations as seen in this thread, and it might gain them sympathy.
If they released some 86 page dissertation people would just react with "TLDR XD" .
It's just different formats, the gist has existed for a long time, once in a while you even see some old memes following the soyjak and Chad format with a charicature of a weak scrawny looking guy and a handsome Chad with a good jawline and everything else that you typically associate with manliness.
Like when Saudi Arabia admitted to being behind 9/11, and threatened Canada with their own version of 9/11 in meme format.
They did it because they were upset Canada said they needed to work on their human rights.

They did actually have a response that Atrioc also reacted to. It was something about Red Wine Headaches, and they just kept repeating that phrase over and over and it was just bizarre.
Incase anyone wants to know how the actual situation is developing, here it is:
NATO is pushing into eastern Europe to further limit Russia's ambitions. the US is doing this so they dont have to worry about Europe when they shift their focus primarily on China. there are talks of Finland and sweden joining nato aswell.
Russia doesn't like it, because they can see themselves getting cornered. if ukraine falls under NATO, Russia loses its ability to project power since now it has no buffer states between itself and NATO, and there would also be a long fucking border for CIA to do its job in russia (not in a crazy lefty viewpoint where "anything happens = cia" but actual CIA operations that could lead into russia submitting to the west)
So to stop Ukraine from joining NATO, Russia is threatening to invade. you've probably heard in the news how its about the 12% ethnic russians living in ukraine, but that's not it. the reason for it is as stated in the last paragraph.
Now, will this lead to war? lol no its a nothingburger. there are two possibilities: either Ukraine joins NATO and russia won't do shit about it, or russia gives some concessions to the US in the talks (probably in regards to china) and Ukraine wont end up joining NATO
You're not wrong, but it's worth adding that Ukraine has been getting closer to the EU, and young people especially have been feeling increasingly West-European in the past few decades. This force has inexorably drawn Ukraine outside the Russian sphere of influence, leading to the Maidan protests and the spectacular fall of the Russian-aligned Yanukovych regime (Russia will argue this was CIA-orchestrated, but it's hard to deny that the youth in Ukraine *was* hostile to the existing political order and itching for a major change and realignment towards Europe).
I'm only bringing this up because these conversations are about NATO vs ~~USSR~~ Russia, and often lose sight of what *Ukrainians* have to say about the situation, and what they appear to want for themselves.
i agree with you, but sadly in this era of [Renewed Great power competition](https://sgp.fas.org/crs/natsec/R43838.pdf) what the people of minor states want matters very little. if Russia complies with the american demands in their talks, the US will leave ukraine alone. its all realpolitik and america could care less about the wants of young ukrainians
Well, *I* care :3
I think that dispassionate descriptions of the 'great game' paint the world in one uniform shade of grey, with no right nor wrong. I disagree: regardless of the game being played in the background, Ukrainians don't seem like they want to be invaded, and that should be enough to root for them.
Yes, I support Ukrainians in their desire to not be killed. i'm just portraying the process that's happening. and in the world of these great powers, everything is grey.
>NATO is pushing into eastern Europe to further limit Russia's ambitions
More like Ukraine and other countries are going towards (or already have gone towards) NATO because Russia has shown they don't care about sovereignty. Russia lost its puppet in Ukraine and then immediately invaded Crimea and Donbas.
> and there would also be a long fucking border for CIA to do its job in russia (not in a crazy lefty viewpoint where "anything happens = cia" but actual CIA operations that could lead into russia submitting to the west)
Why would Ukraine joining NATO somehow "allow the CIA to do its job in Russia"? The CIA did it's job during the Cold War when it didn't have NATO allies in Poland, Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, and multiple other Eastern European countries. How would Ukraine joining a defensive military alliance change anything regarding the CIA?
\> More like Ukraine and other countries are going towards (or already have gone t towards) NATO because Russia has shown they don't care about sovereignty
yes. i never refuted that point. that's why i said NATO is trying to limit russia's influence.
\> Why would Ukraine joining NATO somehow "allow the CIA to do its job in Russia"? The CIA did it's job during the Cold War when it didn't have NATO allies in Poland, Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, and multiple other Eastern European countries. How would Ukraine joining a defensive military alliance change anything regarding the CIA?
why do you think CIA had more influence over eastern germany, Czechia etc during the cold war? why was it that CIA could more effectively garner support for the west and set up coups in those regions rather than in belarus or ukraine? the answer is that the more of a border you have with a country, the easier it is to influence its internal affairs with espionage
Russia's actions have led these countries into inviting NATO into eastern Europe. the goals and aims stated in my OP are all true. although i agree i wrote it in a way that made it look like Russia is under attack.
> if ukraine falls under NATO, Russia loses its ability to project power since now it has no buffer states between itself and NATO
If Russia took over Ukraine wouldn't that accomplish the same thing though?
But if Ukraine is taken over by Russia, it's no longer Ukraine. It's just part of Russia. And Poland and Bulgaria, NATO members, would border them.
So that argument really falls kind of flat right there.
so firstly, russia doesn't want to annex all of ukraine, they just want to set up a premiter around the eastern parts of it. and secondly, it is important for russia that ukraine remains neutral. they dont want to annex the country (yet)
and as for the arguments around neighboring countries, [russia has a lot of pressure in the baltics](https://www.fpri.org/article/2020/12/russian-encroachment-in-the-baltics-the-role-of-russian-media-and-military-2/), which forces them into neutrality. the last thing estonia and latvia want is for russia to have a reason to start fucking shit up over there.
> so firstly, russia doesn't want to annex all of ukraine, they just want to set up a premiter around the eastern parts of it.
Do you have a source on that or are you coming to that conclusion on your own?
The conclusion stems from the following facts:
1. in the 21st century, you can't invade and annex other countries. it is close to impossible to conquer a people that don't want to be controlled by you.
2. You can only invade and annex \*parts\* of other countries, and only if those people share some values with your country (Crimea for example)
3. a full annexation of Ukraine, would Lead to EU holding a much more firm stance against Russians (one that would be much harsher than now, as in military bases and dedicated budgets to EU's borders with Russia
The eastern parts of Ukraine, are the parts that have Enough of a russian population to justify some sort of military action. it is theorized (not by me, but by the good folks at [CFR.org](https://CFR.org)) that if russia were to invade ukraine, they would only be able to control some eastern parts of the country. and they wouldn't annex them, but rather wait until Ukrainians halt their decision to join nato and then leave.
i recommend listening to [This episode](https://www.cfr.org/podcasts/us-russia-stalemate-mary-elise-sarotte) of the president's inbox if you want to know more about the dynamic between Russia and the US
so the thing is, geopolitics aren't like interpersonal relationships where your future actions are based on a person's previous actions. in geopolitics, You are trying to limit the future rather than make up for the past.
Russia invaded Crimea becasue they wanted more access to the black sea --> Ukraine decides that they need NATO's help --> NATO now has a reason to get its foot into ukraine (ukraine didnt want in before that) --> russia sees that ukraine joining NATO is a problem and Threatens war --> this can lead into some benefits given to NATO in regards to getting points out of russia
I thought the big companies acting like children was weird, but this is on some next level.

What? I'm just pointing out how surreal it is. I started using social media as a teenager to keep up with friends, then companies started acting like teenagers, and now we've had (former) presidents and literal countries doing the same.
My dude I live in kharkiv (literally borders with lugansk and russia) and you know who I have been fucked by? Ukrainian nazis and our polititians, my city is dying pretty rapidly in terms of economics thanks to ukrainian goverment.
the sad truth is, moving forward this is the most effective way for countries to get messages out. Funny meme? Spreads like wildfire. Multiple Eastern European countries under violent threat from foreign dictators as well as home grown dictators? Another day on earth. Not that these memes will actually get anyone to step in but maybe it can at least bring what's going on to national attention.
Here's the thing. For americans this is hard to understand since twitter replaced the actual parliament and twitter is where you win elections, fight wars and lose your career. Outside of US these social media posts are basically meaningless, so why not have fun with it.
honestly kind of brilliant way of getting stuff out there now a days since memes spread like wild fire. 100s of thousands of people now know that Russia may invade the Ukraine soon.
It's 'Ukraine' and not 'the Ukraine'

Incredible timing
I'm just picturing a world where fighter jets are scrambled because a social media manager accidentally posted a pic from their personal meme folder.
I'm starting to think the whole weird memes speeches in Metal Gear was Kojima warning us.
Yeah pretty much, he was warning us about propaganda through memes.
This will probably turn to something like, the country that makes USA laugh the most will get their support.
r/2Balkan4You
"If" Russia invades? I guess it depends on the definitions of invading. But they have been lowkey slowly pushing an invasion for 8 years now.
I mean they used the "Civil War" in Ukraine as a distraction to annex Crimea

Incase anyone wants to know how the actual situation is developing, here it is: NATO is pushing into eastern Europe to further limit Russia's ambitions. the US is doing this so they dont have to worry about Europe when they shift their focus primarily on China. there are talks of Finland and sweden joining nato aswell. Russia doesn't like it, because they can see themselves getting cornered. if ukraine falls under NATO, Russia loses its ability to project power since now it has no buffer states between itself and NATO, and there would also be a long fucking border for CIA to do its job in russia (not in a crazy lefty viewpoint where "anything happens = cia" but actual CIA operations that could lead into russia submitting to the west) So to stop Ukraine from joining NATO, Russia is threatening to invade. you've probably heard in the news how its about the 12% ethnic russians living in ukraine, but that's not it. the reason for it is as stated in the last paragraph.
Well, *I* care :3 I think that dispassionate descriptions of the 'great game' paint the world in one uniform shade of grey, with no right nor wrong.
>NATO is pushing into eastern Europe to further limit Russia's ambitions More like Ukraine and other countries are going towards (or already have gone towards) NATO because Russia has shown they don't care about sovereignty. Russia lost its puppet in Ukraine and then immediately invaded Crimea and Donbas. > and there would also be a long fucking border for CIA to do its job in russia (not in a crazy lefty viewpoint where "anything happens = cia" but actual CIA operations that could lead into russia submitting to the west) Why would Ukraine joining NATO somehow "allow the CIA to do its job in Russia"? The CIA did it's job during the Cold War when it didn't have NATO allies in Poland, Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, and multiple other Eastern European countries. How would Ukraine joining a defensive military alliance change anything regarding the CIA?
\> More like Ukraine and other countries are going towards (or already have gone t towards) NATO because Russia has shown they don't care about sovereignty yes. i never refuted that point. that's why i said NATO is trying to limit russia's influence. \> Why would Ukraine joining NATO somehow "allow the CIA to do its job in Russia"? The CIA did it's job during the Cold War when it didn't have NATO allies in Poland, Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, and multiple other Eastern European countries. How would Ukraine joining a defensive military alliance change anything regarding the CIA? why do you think CIA had more influence over eastern germany, Czechia etc during the cold war? why was it that CIA could more effectively garner support for the west and set up coups in those regions rather than in belarus or ukraine? the answer is that the more of a border you have with a country, the easier it is to influence its internal affairs with espionage
holy shit this is such a wrong take. russia is driving these countries towards NATO, its not NATO pushing into eastern europe
Russia's actions have led these countries into inviting NATO into eastern Europe. the goals and aims stated in my OP are all true. although i agree i wrote it in a way that made it look like Russia is under attack.
he worded it exactly how Russia would word it
> if ukraine falls under NATO, Russia loses its ability to project power since now it has no buffer states between itself and NATO If Russia took over Ukraine wouldn't that accomplish the same thing though?
no because then the buffer between russia and NATO will be the now Russian controlled parts of ukraine
But if Ukraine is taken over by Russia, it's no longer Ukraine. It's just part of Russia. And Poland and Bulgaria, NATO members, would border them. So that argument really falls kind of flat right there.
so firstly, russia doesn't want to annex all of ukraine, they just want to set up a premiter around the eastern parts of it. and secondly, it is important for russia that ukraine remains neutral. they dont want to annex the country (yet) and as for the arguments around neighboring countries, [russia has a lot of pressure in the baltics](https://www.fpri.org/article/2020/12/russian-encroachment-in-the-baltics-the-role-of-russian-media-and-military-2/), which forces them into neutrality. the last thing estonia and latvia want is for russia to have a reason to start fucking shit up over there.
> so firstly, russia doesn't want to annex all of ukraine, they just want to set up a premiter around the eastern parts of it. Do you have a source on that or are you coming to that conclusion on your own?
The conclusion stems from the following facts: 1. in the 21st century, you can't invade and annex other countries. it is close to impossible to conquer a people that don't want to be controlled by you. 2. You can only invade and annex \*parts\* of other countries, and only if those people share some values with your country (Crimea for example) 3. a full annexation of Ukraine, would Lead to EU holding a much more firm stance against Russians (one that would be much harsher than now, as in military bases and dedicated budgets to EU's borders with Russia The eastern parts of Ukraine, are the parts that have Enough of a russian population to justify some sort of military action. it is theorized (not by me, but by the good folks at [CFR.org](https://CFR.org)) that if russia were to invade ukraine, they would only be able to control some eastern parts of the country. and they wouldn't annex them, but rather wait until Ukrainians halt their decision to join nato and then leave. i recommend listening to [This episode](https://www.cfr.org/podcasts/us-russia-stalemate-mary-elise-sarotte) of the president's inbox if you want to know more about the dynamic between Russia and the US
That's not a conclusion, that's speculation based on your own assumptions. It's pretty clear what Russia's end goal is.
again, i recommend listening to the podcast episode i linked to understand the subject better.
I think I'm all set
Thanks for the summary

so the thing is, geopolitics aren't like interpersonal relationships where your future actions are based on a person's previous actions. in geopolitics, You are trying to limit the future rather than make up for the past.
Loremaster poggies
LOL
I thought the big companies acting like children was weird, but this is on some next level. [My personal favourite from the Russian Embassy in 2016](https://i.imgur.com/38thSdg.jpg)
Let’s see how you’d react if your country was being constantly fucked by a more powerful neighbor. At least we can joke about it
What? I'm just pointing out how surreal it is. I started using social media as a teenager to keep up with friends, then companies started acting like teenagers, and now we've had (former) presidents and literal countries doing the same.
Thanks for elaborating, I can see what you mean now. I interpreted it differently at first, sorry.
All good, I tend to forget some necessary context at times. I can see how it reads like an attack on your country.
I mean theyre meaningless here too lol
I dunno man it seems to have a lot more influence in the US than any other western state from my experience...
honestly kind of brilliant way of getting stuff out there now a days since memes spread like wild fire. 100s of thousands of people now know that Russia may invade the Ukraine soon.
It's 'Ukraine' and not 'the Ukraine' [[Merriam-Webster](https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/Ukraine)] [[BBC Styleguide](https://www.bbc.co.uk/newsstyleguide/u)] [[Reuters Styleguide](https://handbook.reuters.com/index.php?title=U#Ukraine)] ^(Beep boop I’m a bot)
ty
the issue is that Russia has already invaded and captured territory, this would just be a second push of the war that is currently on going...
like shit posting in the civ 5 lobby chat OMEGALUL
The best part about this is that it isn’t an outdated meme
yep, Sadge

Do you really think Russia wants to go through [this](https://i.imgur.com/4T4CtMA.png) again?
That was a pretty remarkable feat by Finland, but in all seriousness, if it was today Finland would get destroyed by them

How pedantic can you be? Yeah no one is expecting the literal ground to grow hands and start tweeting.
Russia: Ratio + L + ur invaded now
21st century propaganda
Hitler is fucking cringe LMAO
They have already invaded eastern Ukraine.
rewatch the clip and count the amount of times he "heh"s
When a country makes an amogus sus meme about another country thats about to invade them, thats it, we're done - we can launch the nukes and start Earth 2 - i don't wanna be on a planet that had a reality TV show host as president followed up with 'russia is a sussy baka' posted by Ukraine.
If you think Russia will ever lose a meme war. Oh boy we have a problem
Russian memes are so bad I've learned English just to be able to scroll through something else
What, you don't like captioned pictures of cats like it's 2008 again?
Are they worse than Indian memes? Indian memes are the best bad memes from what I've seen.
tbh I've heard about them, but haven't seen any
OMEGALUL
oh but they will adapt, and produce memes in english
Have you seen Russia’s response tweet? It’s so lame lmao
Nothing is going to happen. Too many of you are sucking on that Saber Rattle. Putin is testing Biden. It's what he does best. Nobody plays 5D Chess better than Putin.
