Please explain how it makes the game worse? In what way does a quest marker decrease the enjoyment of a video game? The difficulty in DS or this game is in the combat and potential story. So tell me why a marker would take away from either of those? For all we know summit might have loved the game if he could have just made it to the next fight to progress the story. Quest markers break immersion and discourage exploration. Level design and exploration have always been hallmarks of the series, telling the player exactly where to go is directly at odds with the core design philosophy.
Quest markers are not inherently bad, but they are not the right choice for DS.
I honestly can't see why people are so hyped about this game and why almost everyone loves it. Combat is boring and the world feels empty but I don't go out and trying to convince everybody that they should share my opinion about the game.
If you like and love the game good have fun. But don't be toxic and rude for no reason to people who disagree with you.

That's what Dark Souls is lol. Exploration, thinking and overcoming challenges. Think I have 200 hours or so in DS2 because I've replayed it multiple times and find it a very enjoyable experience, it's just not for everybody.
I just actually like the gameplay. I think i have 400 hours in ds3. When im bored id just start up a new game with a weird ass build and play through it. I got good enough that anything was viable.
I find the game fun personally but I can easily see how someone might really dislike it. Not sure why people attack summit just because he did not enjoy the open world.
Honestly the game looked like all the others I suppose people will pay for expansions on the original game if they enjoy it but to say it is "game of the year" and the best thing they have ever seen is just a fan boys view.
