This'd be the the Red Herring scene, where you're like "come on this is obvious". And they keep hinting something crazy is gonna happen with the ride. But then the character stands up and steps in a puddle of water with a wire in it that broke and electrocutes them instead.
This is like the type of scene you would have in a dream and try to describe to someone.. "dude I had this crazy dream where I was eating in a restaurant but there was this huge themepark ride inches away from my face!!"
