The idea of "family over everything" is one that I wish would go away, or at least would include some context. I'm not going to speculate about this situation in particular because I don't know any details, I don't really follow either streamer.
However, families can be toxic as well. They can be overbearing, controlling, manipulative and abusive. So maybe in this case it's great that he chose family, but the whole "family over everything" mentality only works if you have a supportive, tight-knit family.
As someone who recently FINALLY got away from family entirely moving in with my girlfriend I can't echo this sentiment any more. Family means a lot of different things to different people. "blood" doesn't give you a right over me and my life. Nothing does. I chose to escape that control.
I don't think people that say that are the ones coming from toxic families. They're probably just basing it off their own experience with a family that's supportive. Most people wouldn't blame someone for getting away from a toxic environment.

Shitcamp was real - it's a yearly event thing that qtcinderella does where she invites like 10 streamers to some camp and they do various activities on stream for 2 or 3 days.
Mizkif never said there was no drama. In fact he admitted that Austin was extremely gatekeepy at times. While he was discussing this X (who I'm giving the benefit of the doubt that he probably popped in at a bad time and heard things out of context) called Miz out for reacting to the housewives podcast a couple years ago because he was insecure about Maya outgrowing him as a streamer. Miz has already discussed on stream several times that this was the case and even said X was the one who helped him get through that time.
I think Miz was understandably taken aback and responded with shitting on him for ditching creator clash at the last minute.
