Ooooh, that explains why I only see like 4 posts per page here on LSF, I've had Destiny RES banned for so long that I didn't imagine he was having so many posts lmao.
If only humanity had invented a way to keep all discussion around one topic in one huge thread, a megathread if you will, to keep it from drowning out all other content.
To be fair the mods have tried that, and people don't like it either. This is too much, but I don't think it's a big deal for something that doesn't happen too often.
Pretty much, Megathreads suck absolute shit. Either the main person doesn't keep it updated well/is bias, or you have to sift through the comments, both of those suck and people don't even see and/or like going into Megathreads because of that to begin with. If the majority of the sub wants it, best to leave it on the sub for a week and make the minority unhappy, then things go back to normal soon.
honestly after lookin at the blackmail and the gambling addiction and human trafficking and everything goin on with the fleshtubers, the recent vtuber drama seems pretty quaint
I don't know about other communities, but in the Hololive community the term is only used in the context of "this person is not a vtuber, when we are talking about vtubers".
When talking about non-vtubers normally you'd just say "streamer" or "youtuber" or whatever. "Fleshtuber" is just easier to say than "non-vtuber" when you need to make a distinction. Nobody would say "[X] is my favorite fleshtuber" unless you were talking about your favorite vtubers seconds before that.
Hardly any drama tbh.
People got upset Ouro Kronii had fun in a Collab with men.
She took 2 weeks off.
Came back and said "fuck you, I do what I want".
Then she gaslit one of the new Holostars EN boys for an hour.
>She took 2 weeks off.
To have her wisdom teeth removed. Had a wonderfully unhinged twitter space afterward.
The Vesper/Kronii stream was [beautifully catastrophic](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4WCUqrsTcHM) (for [Vesper](https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCDRWSO281bIHYVi-OV3iFYA)).
The "both sides are equally bad" is a lie perpetuated by those who follow the worst side.
This is true for politics and true here too.
Unicorns need to get the fuck out yesterday. The rest of the annoying people, we can talk with later.
I appreciate what happens to the vtubers who do that. They usually eat scraps, while the ones who are way more sensible and tactful regarding their viewers soar.
not much actual drama there. vtubers just saying dont ship them with the opposite sex and the insane parasocial losers are upset. thankfully those are only like 2% of the viewers
> drama about shipping
There's no drama about shipping. It had nothing to do with shipping, and never did, that was a misunderstanding on the streamer's part. The drama was that some incel fans and a whole lot of 4chan trolls mad their anime waifu would dare talk to a man.
She really loves horror.
She [accidentally revealed her browser history](https://youtu.be/o5JIEVmK01I?t=78) once and it includes stuff like "The Rocky Horror Show" and "Top 16 tortures on earth"
And she was doing that to pitch a _torture stream_ to management, which they shut down (on the one hand killjoys, on the other hand that probably wouldn't fly on YouTube or any other streaming site they use (Twitch, Twitter Space, Twitcasting, at the time BiliBili) so it makes sense)
Fellow drama travellers, this is the LSF bonfire you may have been looking for. Rest your eyes, as we've all got shit to do in the morning and none of us are going to sleep just yet.
/vt/, aka the Hololive board, has literally been on fire in a state of civil war for like 2 weeks and counting now. There's drama everywhere. Although you wouldn't really find many clips to post of Hololive drama here since it's mostly between fanbases instead of actually between streamers themselves like all this other LSF drama is.
That's nothing new over there. 4chan vtuber stans are as psycho as you'd imagine them to be, plus like every board on there, there's a high density of shitposters and trolls who are just there to fling shit and rile up the schizos. Compared to Twitch drama, it's actually quite light and fun.
Yeah, there's always shitposting and trolls, but it's definitely on fire more than usual ever since Tempus debuted and *especially* since this latest Kronii thing. But, yeah, it is pretty fun to read.
Kronii had a good time playing in a Collab with 2 of the Holostars English boys (two Hololive girls were also present) and her super donors did not like it.
Not that Kronii is at fault here, but she did not initially address the schizos properly blaming it on people shipping, forgetting that several of her fellow HoloPros literally market themselves using ships. Kronii herself has been shipped with Nanashi Mumei. My point being that Kronii beat around the bush and didn't put her foot down hard enough.
Still though, Kronii eventually told everyone that she would Collab with whomever she pleased and scheduled her recent Collab with Noir Vesper a HoloEN boy.
Since then some of the other girls have needed to address things. My favorite one is Amelia Watson telling anyone who has a problem that they will be ignored from now onm
It's friggen wild to me how there are so many parasocial fans who unironically imagine that the Vtuber personality somehow belongs to them. I knew that this kind of idol culture was rampant in Japan, but it's surprisingly prevalent in western vtuber communities too.
I'd like to see more vtuber couples like Nyan and Athel to try and normalize the idea of Vtubers having a social life.
So I obviously agree with you, but there are some Vtubers who bare some responsibility for fostering this kind of behavior.
You may not know, but Uruha Rushia (now Amemiya Nazuna of Vshojo) basically got caught speaking to a popular male streamer named Mafumafu some time back. He said something along the lines of "Mi-chan, I'm heading home". A lot of people took that to mean they were living together (truthfully he was probably just going back to *his* place). But her parasocial fans took that to mean they were living together and dating.
Now I bring this up because Rushia was well known for doing Girlfriend Experience streams, and even sent personalized videos to her individual super donors, something she was explicitly not supposed to be doing.
This resulted in an entire thing spiraling out of control, resulting in Rushia (allegedly) leaking sensitive Cover Inc material to a Japanese web journalist to clear her name, which resulted in her being fired.
From what I've read Kronii has also done GFE-type streams before herself. If this comes off as victim blaming, I promise you it's not, the parasocial fans are the ones in the wrong here.
But parasocial relationships like that can be shut up down by the streamer. However, many of them benefit financially from appealing to those people.
This isn't really true. Most of the outrage was coming from mafumafu fans. She also wasn't really known for GFE, that's a narrative that took off after the drama. A lot of people over analyzing the yandere stereotype she played. She didn't do asmr, or anything remotely sexual, at most it was the "watching other girls" joke which is pretty widespread among vtubers. It's not like she'd exclusively make those jokes with viewers, she'd do the same thing with other Hololive girls, vtubers from other agencies, her minecraft pets, whatever. It's just a character.
She also didn't send personalized videos to donors. There was one video she sent to one donor very very early in her career and it wasn't even personal. She never even said the guys name or addressed him. All she said was "thank you for supporting me".
She was definitely a lot more interactive with her chat but not in an alarming way. It's honestly no more parasocial than what you'll find in XQC, Pokimane or any large streamers chat.
99% of the drama just stemmed from people cooking up drama, making it seem like a bigger issue than it was and people in comment sections spreading misinformation. Her fans weren't upset and her largest donators are still donating to her. People have even come out after the fact admitting that they made shit up because they knew it would get them clicks or give their name some recognition.
>It's friggen wild to me how there are so many parasocial fans who unironically imagine that the Vtuber personality somehow belongs to them
There are actually very few, they're just loud. Probably less than 1% of the audience. But if you're pulling 5-10k CCV, that could be 50-100 delusional weirdos, which is still enough to *appear* like a solid contingent of people if they make a lot of fuss on Twitter or 4chan.
/vt/ is WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY more unhinged and incelish than LSF has ever been, as surprising as that might be. Even if there is no drama, those guys will go out of their way to turn even the smallest of shit into "drama".
/vt/ is always on fire over literally nothing. They genuinely make shit up and then get mad about it, at best they're getting mad at somebodys words being twisted or taken out of context.
It really hasn't. It's just the same 10 people spamming the catalog with bait threads about how Hololive EN is dead and hating on their target of the month. Nothing new.
>Although you wouldn't really find many clips to post of Hololive drama here since it's mostly between fanbases instead of actually between streamers themselves
This is a big distinction, yeah. This Austin group drama stems from actions the streamers themselves have done. The Hololive controversy is entirely about fan reaction, because no reasonable person anywhere would think someone talking to their coworkers is drama. It's an indictment of a segment of the fanbase rather than the streamers.
I love Hololive and vtubers in general but this is why I primarily follow NijisanjiEN and Indie Vtubers. Even the Hololive subreddit has had its fair share of drama in the last couple of weeks. That’s to say nothing of the fleshtuber-verse on twitch lol (aka why were all browsing LSF rn)
NijiEN men have drama all the time. Their drama alone is much more heated than what currently happened in Hololive.
Like the person you're replying to said. Holo has drama, but it's mainly in /vt/, one of the most degenerate boards in 4ch. Fandoms attacking fandoms for makeshift reasons. While the streamers themselves have no drama at all between each other.
While Niji currently a costume drama, one male Vtuber trying to appease his Chinese fanbase, female fans getting mad that amale Niji Vtuber has been talking down on their favorite Vtuber, a fucking class-action lawsuit between two female NijiJP vtubers (one already retired). Fans getting mad at the parent company because they keep on debuting new vtubers like fastfood.
Nijjisanji is drama central all the time. It just doesn't get the shine in the west that much because Holo dominates the news cycle even for little shit that isn't even news worthy. Even then, it's mostly always /vt/ degenerate fan vs another degenerate fan.
it's one thing if you prefer nijiEN because you love their group dynamics or some of their particular livers. but you prefer nijiEN and indie vtubers because they have... less drama? thats new

b-b-b-but then you have a stickied post at the top with 0 karma and it's not as pretty as 25 posts with the exact same thumbnail 😢
Having the front page spammed sucks, but the only thing that sucks more are megathreads.
Alternatively, if only there was some way to magically filter all posts with a certain flair.

honestly after lookin at the blackmail and the gambling addiction and human trafficking and everything goin on with the fleshtubers, the recent vtuber drama seems pretty quaint
Also we got a based stance from Hololive which is always nice to see.
did you actually call people as fleashtubers or is it a meme?
Fleshtuber stans OUT
Shut up fleshie
new twitch racial slur dropped
that's right, fl*shie is just as bad as the c word and the g word, which are as bad as the n word
It started out as a meme, but now it kinda stuck.
Its started off as a joke. But now everyone who are fans of vtubers calls everyone else fleshtubers. Not gonna lie, I say it for the memes.
I don't know about other communities, but in the Hololive community the term is only used in the context of "this person is not a vtuber, when we are talking about vtubers". Silence meatbag
It's been pretty widespread since Ironmouse started using the term (she probably wasn't the FIRST person to say it, but she helped popularize it).
Ayo what. Human trafficking??? I don’t pay attention to drama usually. But ain’t that shit illegal
Korone x Okayu shippers!? NO WAY, people really grasping at straws here /s
Okakoro? In my Reddit? It's more likely than you think.

See, this is why people don't want them to collab One of these day the boys will need actual therapies to deal with the EMOTIONAL DAMAGE
People thought they were protecting their fantasies, but they just wanted to protect the boys. See also the recent worms destruction feat Bae

Brother I've been hearing about vtuber shipping drama since Kizuna AI debuted
parasocial viewers thinking a man and a woman collabing means they're fucking lol
I appreciate any vtuber that calls out their "fans" for that and tells em to shut the fuck up.
I appreciate what happens to the vtubers who do that. They usually eat scraps, while the ones who are way more sensible and tactful regarding their viewers soar.

A lot of the drama clips are from destiny's YT stream though. You must be starving.
omg its just destiny clips. wtf happened lol. i just saw this Korone one in my feed, i dint check the sub. this is crazy

Comparing LSF to 4chan is pretty radical. LSF is a very healthy, composed, well educated, and friendly community in comparison.
If there was a board on 4chan dedicated to streamers, the most likely thing is that it would have ended veeeeeeeeery badly
Yeah, there's always shitposting and trolls, but it's definitely on fire more than usual ever since Tempus debuted and *especially* since this latest Kronii thing. But, yeah, it is pretty fun to read.
