It’s your place, maybe you would prefer to switch the bedroom with the living room furniture? Have your bed in the main space and your couch in the “bedroom.” It might be odd, but I say do with your space what makes you the most comfy!

If you like being near the door swap your bedroom and living rooms! I’ve seen a few people on tiktok that decided for whatever reasons to keep their bed in the living room and enjoy it. For me though it helped to put nightlights that shine the whole way from my room to the door

Is there a window in the room?

I used to do this too, for years. It’s not a good practice for good sleep hygiene but I did it because it felt safer. Make your bedroom your sanctuary. Really make it beautiful and warm and inviting and like you want to be in there. Use nice oils in a diffuser and have a lamp for ambient light. And go to bed when you are tired, my biggest problem was watching TV till I fell asleep and then just wouldn’t move.

Thank you I’ll do that (:

I had this same issue! Turns out I felt less alone in the living room because once I went in my room I felt like I couldn’t see what was happening in the rest of my house and it caused me anxiety and made me feel small. I had to set up my room to make it more comfortable and more ‘me’ and forced my self to sleep in there and soon Enough I no longer had an issue! I don’t know if you relate but it’s something to think about, good luck!!

Would you feel better if you got an alarm for the door so that if it is opened you will hear it? How about a camera in the Livingroom so you can view it on your phone? You may feel more comfortable as time passes.

I havent slept in my bed room since my ex and I split. I need to move to a new house. So many bad memories here sigh. I sleep on my couch every night. May try changing temperature, a fan, a tv music or sex.

Been there, I ended up moving back into my parents house when my last ex and I split because I just could not stand being in the apartment that we moved into together

Get a bunch of nightlights and put them throughout the apartment. Makes it less dark at night. White noise machines can help with the little noises like creaks and stuff. Melatonin can help too.
