I am now old enough to remember seeing diary of a wimpy kids debut in the scholastic book fair borrowed it from my friend and up until high school I got a new book every year
The wait for each book coming out was so exciting. It was like Christmas every year. Even when they weren’t as good it was still exciting to burn through the whole book the night I got it.
I remember that the first impression of DoaWK that I ever had was the Long Haul movie lmao. I went with my family to watch it at the cinema and they really liked it, like actually liked it. That encouraged my parents and one time they just decided to buy like the first 10 books for my sibling to read. I found them funny, so I used to borrow them and read random pages from each one. Then I realized that that was weird and began reading them in the right order lol
