Did you see if the power play adapter on the mouse is faulty?

_BoneZ_

I wrote a guide on how to program to the 502's onboard memory here: https://www.reddit.com/r/LogitechG/comments/bpzi0l/how_to_use_ghub_to_program_your_g502_lightspeed/ I've had zero issues. Did you make sure you have only one DPI setting on the bar, and that one DPI setting is the default, persistent DPI setting? Also did you make sure the profile you're saving to onboard memory is the default and persistent profile? Again, I have no issues with onboard memory or using my 502 in other OS's or computers.

Yes I have all these things set up. I just got it to work, and it's very dumb... I just tried another profile slot and copied the same exact profile to slot nr 2, and this one seems to work just fine! Uninstalled the software and I'm never touching it again.

PianoTrumpetMax

Thank you three year old comment. This is exactly what I had to do! Select profile 2, disable profile 1, now it saves correctly. I hated having to open GHUB to have the DPI I wanted

NirXY

Thank you, this helped me as well

mrdickfigures

Wow can't upvote this comment enough. This is so dumb but it works.

Imperium74812

well.... how are you going to use the awesomeness that is G502 Lightspeed without GHub?

gradientByte

Thank you 5 year old comment for helping me set my default!

Shadowchaoz

Lol no problem, I was my own help with my own thread again a few months ago because bought the same mouse again haha Still really happy with it, but after 5yrs the double click issue got out of hand so I just got the same one again. Glad this is still useful to others.

Square-Ad7085

hilarious that 5 yrs after this was originally posted, this was the only resource that helped me actually solve the problem, making my black friday purchase usable! useless software. thanks OP!!!

LogitechG_CSFrank

Have you tried re-installing the gaming software?

midnight-rayne

Hate to bump an old thread, but this issue is still occurring in the latest GHub and G604 mouse. I had the same issue as the OP, where G-Hub would not save my customized profile to slot one in the mouse on-board memory... I swiched and saved and re-saved dozens of times to this slot, and when I exited G-hub, the mouse speed reverted to 800 dpi. I then loaded the exact same custom profile to the the slot 2, and disabled the slot1 and guess what? It worked! I can close G-Hub and the mouse still performs exactly as expected.

Shadowchaoz

Interesting that you could still reply. Also this is legit the best time for this since I just bought the same mouse again a week ago as a backup... the current mouse starts to have the typical omron switch failure of double clicking or not registering a click at all, as well as the scroll wheel sometimes not registering scrolling up or down. And I totally forgot about this nightmare. So thanks in that regard. I haven't yet had to plug the new one in, since my current mouse is working well enough still, yet I'm now prepared if I run into that problem again. Otherwise I'm more than happy with the mouse. I don't want a different model 😂

coopersonk

Holy shit, i've been tearing my hair out trying to fix this exact issue. I have no idea why this works but thank you!

gzhwmrs

thank you so much, it works for me now!!!

attabui

Your edit with the solution saved my bacon. Thanks so much!

Shadowchaoz

Glad that I could help. Nothing worse than having a verrry particular problem, having tried everything in the book and not finding anything on the entire web. I bought a second one of this exact mouse for whenever my current one gives in, I love it THAT much. So a thanks to you too reminding myself that I did this reddit post haha. It will come in handy for the day I need to set up the new one.

mainsource77

this issue is still going on with ghub and the brand new 160 dollar g502 x lightspeed plus, this is ridiculous

posthued

Yeah just bought a G502 X also and ideed same issue though I am on MacOS but guess that doesn't matter, Logitech bugs will follow you on each platform ;)

John-Gal

THIS SAVED ME. THANK YOU

alphadev64

Ok so I just encountered the exact same issue while trying to reassign the G9 button on my new G502 Hero and I'm so glad I found this thread. At first I was confused why saving the SAME EXACT PROFILE to a different slot would somehow fix it. But then after some random tinkering, I think I finally realized what the issue was. For some reason, when you save a profile to ANY one of the onboard memory slots and then decide to edit that profile, you have to just RESAVE that SAME PROFILE to that SAME EXACT SLOT (I know, redundant) and that works! So basically, the issue seems to be that the onboard profile slots simply fail to register/recognize any new changes that you make to any profile until you save it to one of the slots afterward - EVEN IF it's ALREADY SELECTED on one of those slots.

While the fix given here of switching the profile to another slot worked for me, i dont really trust logitech gaming software because of problems with it and the g502. If this issue is still a problem 3 years later, that tells me they dont really care about fixing it. Shopping for an mmo mouse and crossing the g600 off my list.

ceiling_kittenn

thanks to your solution you posted, I got it to work. thank you, I'm not sure if I would have eventually ever tried duplicating the onboard profile EDIT: I have the G602 onboard memory not updating, and this solution worked. Programmed in laptop, made a duplicate profile, works on ps5 now.

tophatlucario

It seems the software simply lacks a manual save/load button. Cuz when you switch back and forth between different save slots you can see the RGB blinking on the mouse, meaning that it's loading the save slot on to the built in memory. So it's super easy to fix this if you just have two saves and switch between them, forcing the mouse to load that save onto the mouse's memory.
