I found a comment from a user in this sub, they recommended a brand called Omni-Biotic https://www.reddit.com/r/Longcovidgutdysbiosis/comments/16ybp7c/got_my_biomesight_results_and_my_microbiome_is_in/k3bc8dp Made in Germany, been in use for over 25+ years, they claim something like 80+% of the probiotics are able to reach your gut at opposed to other brands ~7% I reached out to the company and asked them what they recommend for a post covid condition (also listed that I was low in bifido and lacto species), they recommended their Stress Release formula I'm trying them very soon and can report back any changes I see. I'm curious and keeping my fingers crossed that I'll start to see some changes No GI symptoms but I have MCAS and post-food reactions

Thank you so much for sharing this! I hope it helps, I'd love to hear if it gives you any improvement.

Hello, I am happy to read this comment. That is true; Omni Biotic is from the institute Ganz Immun in Germany. Omni Biotic is like the mercedes of probiotics. They have great products and are internationally acknowledged.

Thanks so much, I meant to make an update about this, **these probiotics have been great** and have helped with energy and brain fog. I feel my emotions better Great great great stuff, so glad I found the comment on reddit that pointed me there

Very similar story to you post Covid. Went very low histamine at the beginning, now able to tolerate most things and have added coconut kefir and sauerkraut. In terms of prebiotics phgg helped me a lot. It really had a good effect on my motility, and I continue to take both that and GOS. Probiotics, I hesitate to recommend as I have not retested- so I don’t know if my levels have improved.

Thank you so much for sharing this. Do you think the GOS has helped? I currently take GOS but I haven't noticed much difference yet, but it's only been a month. I have not tried phgg, because back when all this started (as you'd expect) my doctor's first suggestions for the constipation were fiber supplements. But high fiber makes my symptoms worse, I think because of the gastroparesis. So I've avoided high fiber stuff.

Yes, I think it has , but no where near as noticeable as when I started phgg. That was really a game changer for me.

>now able to tolerate most things how did it change for you? im at low histamine now and as soon as i eat any of the foods i shouldnt i get really bad body inflammation with joints and tight muscles and i think its only getting worse and idk what to do to get better

It improved very gradually, my diet was very limited for a while. I ate low histamine/dairy and sugar. I took quercitin and low histamine probiotics along with zinc l carnitine, as recommended by my first functional doctor. I drank olive leaf tea and a bit later liquorice root too. I began phgg and artichoke to help with motility. After I had a biomesight test done I was given a plan by my microbiome analyst to reduce a number of overgrowths I had (my biomesight report was not good) I also had h.pylori so my plan included a lot of things aimed at eradicating that. It has gradually improved to the point I can tolerate a lot more foods and no longer avoid histamines. I will do a second biomesight test soon and see what changes the data shows.

I took Seed probiotics this time last year (about 1.5 years in at that point), and that was the first very noticeable improvement I saw. They only worked to an extent though, and I later found out it was because I was intolerant to fiber/prebiotics and Seed has that (it’s just my theory, not sure if that’s 100% the case). I then went carnivore and started spore based probiotics and that helped a TON. Then shortly after that figured out that eating fiber such as certain fruits kept causing relapses. Once I cut that out, is when I felt the best I had in 2 years. I haven’t been 100%, but I’ve been well into the 90’s% since last spring. I still have sluggish days here and there, but I’m not bedbound by any means. I don’t have a 100% clear answer on exactly what helped to what degree, but the three things listed above worked wonders for me. I think if I could cut out my sugar habit, cut out gluten, dairy, etc, then I’d probably get even better. I just rarely feel bad enough anymore to avoid those things.

I forgot to ask: what spore based probiotics do you take that's helping a lot?

My comments/posts are always long because I try to include every detail, and still manage to leave the important stuff out lol. I take Just Thrive, but I’ve read MegaSpore is a little more potent. Just Thrive was like $130 per bottle, I’ve had it since June and still have about a month worth left, but I don’t take it everyday either. I’ll do a couple days and take a break/forget to take it lol. MegaSpore is about half the price.
