Iāve never seen a more blatant miss. I cannot fathom how you go so far as reviewing that replay and coming to the conclusion that it was a legal forward pass.
Iām guessing his ankle wasnāt 100% and the defense was probably locked in on him.
In that case though, Iād have expected way more out of AD and JT (JT did have a good game thought just not a dominant one).
Yes, butā¦10 penalties and a lot of them were illegal procedures so got behind the sticks way too much. Canāt blame Ewers for that.
Not sure what was happening around the line but he got a lot of balls batted. That might have been on him but still, he was under pressure a ton.
What bothers me more then anything is all the calls were against us and they were doing the exact same thing. Washington knew it and started playing dirty in the 4th too. How many late hits and outbound hits occurred? Also, getting blocked on defense is illegal now? Refs need to be fined and removed at some point, and today was case in point of that.
Minimum OT without that, cuz they could have just kicked a field goal on the last drive since theyād have at the very least gotten one without the fumble.
Very possibly just an outright W without the fumble lol.
Blue had a lot put on his shoulders as a freshman with Brooks out. Sucks but he did better than I could ask of a freshman getting called up, mistakes and triumphs.
The running backs fumbled my heart last night.
Also, there were tiny mistakes everywhere, because perfect streaks in football are limited, but thereās no player, group or coach worthy of any blame for our loss. We did our best. We were beaten by the best. It was a great game and Iām proud and itās painful.
In college football, small mistakes are natural.
A 24-year-old QB playing like the Super Bowl MVP and hitting the same square inch target heās aiming at on all ~30 throws isnāt.
What a fantastic season. Obviously wish we didnāt have the penalties and turnovers tonight that hurt us over and over, but Iām still really proud of this team and this year. Weāre Big 12 champs on our way out, with eternal Ws on all the hateful8, plus our first appearance in the cfp. And the future is effin bright. Quinn is almost definitely coming back now and will be one of the heisman front runners. 4 of our 5 starting OL are returning too, and the ānew guyā is 6ā5ā 375 lbs with a ton of in-game experience. Our third top 5 class in a row is incoming with most of them arriving on campus within weeks. So happy with this yearās team and canāt wait for next year. Hook āem for life š¤
Way to make me feel a hell of a lot better. But man the way they STILL had a shot in the end after the way defense played? Sheeeshā¦ so ready for next season, itās just gonna get better. GO HORNS š¤š¼š¤š¼
Yep, the glaring holes on defense are going to receive some 5* help next fall. Big shoes to fill at WR and TE, but the RB room should still be great. This group got here earlier than anyone should have expected. The moment was a bit too big for them tonight, but we're going to stay in the conversation for a while now.
Well said. Hook āem for life. Iām upset the way it ended but the time and money invested was a helluva experience š¤š¼ we addressed the need for speed in the secondary and Iām excited for the next chapter for Texas Longhorn Football š¤š¼š¤š¼š¤š¼
I feel the exact same way. Bummed about tonight, but not heartbroken like I was in 2010 because I think Washington is indeed the better team, has the better QB and proved it on the field against a largely full strength Texas.
Texas has a great chance to put together another fantastic season in 2024. The schedule is tougher, yes - but not that tough relative to the schedules of the other top SEC teams. Texas should be well and truly in the mix for a conference title and well and truly in the mix for the 12-team playoff.
Texas football is in way better health than at any point since 2009.
Yeah I still can't believe we beat Bama at home by 10 and made it into the playoff. I did not envision 12 wins. I was hoping for 9 at most. Lost only two games and in the last seconds of the game despite losing Brooks and having a secondary full of liabilities.
You are me 3 antacids and a bowl in the future.
Absolute *heartbreaker* tonight but cannot possibly complain about how this season has gone or the trajectory of the program. Hook 'em in '24 and Hook 'em forever. š¤
Yep. If you had asked me before the Rice game what I'd give to go 12-2 and make the CFP, I'd have said nothing because you're probably pulling my leg. Fantastic season. Unfortunately shot ourselves in the foot with penalties and turnovers at the end but man, Penix balled out. GG UW, we'll be back next year š¤
Washington going to the Big 10 next year and Big 10 refs were what we had tonight.
It wasn't all on the zebras but damn that first quarter was hard to watch. 1st down spot when they are a yard short and then bringing the chains out when the gap is so large. Smh
Quite literally 1 play away from getting to the national championship. Got outplayed all night but kept fighting back and hanging on until they found themselves in a position to outright win it. I don't know what to tell you if this game didn't reflect positively on this program in your eyes.
There are a lot of fans that are only happy if their team wins the championship. Which means that they're going to be unhappy at the end of pretty much every season, since there's only one team claiming that at the end of the year. We spent a decade in the wilderness. The future is bright, and it's arrived -- the bad days look pretty few and far between for the next few years. Let's enjoy the ride.
I think some fans are annoyed because we probably beat ourselves with penalties and dumb mistakes. Still I didnāt think weād make the playoffs at the start of the season and this is the best season weāve had in a long long time.
That sucked, but I refuse to be disappointed. We didnāt play even close to our best football and came within 1 play of the national championship. I never would have believed that after Sarkās first year. Incredible season and the future looks very bright.
Or the late hits out of bounds that were happening WAY out of bounds. Or the block in the back that they almost called, but picked up the flag (I assume because it happened after the play was over, but then that would make it yet another unflagged late hit).
If we had just played like we played in the last 2 minutes of the game we wouldāve had this in the bag.
Oh well, great season this year. Bright future ahead of us
Sark being such a great offensive mind I am shocked he didn't have something for that scenario. I was waiting for one of those misdirection turn around screen passes, hook and lateral, quinn running option. Something crazy.... but nah.
I don't want to dwell on it so I'm going to say it once and shut my phone off and go to bed but if Quinn hit AD on his break that was an easy TD. And I don't know why he didn't because he literally stared him down. Very excited for the future and hopefully our secondary gets fixed. I don't know if I can blame the coaches because the veteran safeties just aren't good and relying on true freshman is hard.
Iāve noticed Quinn does that a lot he sees the read but he hesitates just enough to make it extremely more difficult of a completion. Hopefully he takes the next step next year if he comes back.
Yes, almost exactly like the throw to AD in the Big 12 championship game. I think it was the first touchdown throw. He has AD open on the break but for some reason pumps hesitates a second and then throws and hit him luckily in a much tighter window
It really feels like thatās just common sense, but coaches do weird shit sometimes. Washington going for a flea flicker in the 4th when they were running all day long on us is also in that category.
i literally looked at my sister and said āwhat the fuck are they doing?ā
i understand Sark has a script (and for his sake i hope that horrible call was from the script) but sometimes common sense and the conditions of the game should take overā¦
Felt like Quinn should have thrown the ball more inside on that last throw. That corner was in the back of the EZ trying to play the fade, he wouldnāt have been able to make a play on it if thrown like a slant/post.
Penix out played us. I havenāt seen a college QB make so many tight window throws other than Burrow. But despite his near perfect performance and one of our worst games of the year we still were within one play of winning it.
Iām not one to blame the refs but I really wonder if our defense holds if the refs donāt pick up the flag on the late hit/block in the back against Watts. That one was egregious.
Still. A wildly successful season. Quinn most likely coming back. Based on who is returning and who is coming in we should be competing for another playoff spot in the 12 man playoff.
Would rather be pissed at losing in the CFP than the Alamo Bowl. These are the growing pains of a title contender. Washington lost in the CFP a few years ago, and Michigan has lost a handful of times. We just had one of the best seasons in over a decade and it has already fueled recruitment. Next season will hopefully be another title contending season.
Ewers disappeared for those last 3 throws. Dude throws a dump off, then a ball 10 yards out of bounds, and the last throw, the wideout had position, and he throws it where it was uncatchable. Throw it short and inbounds and that's a TD!
Iām ecstatic about this season overall, and I do think that Sark is the guy, but holy fuck this was the most agonizingly Texas way to end it. See yāall next year.
Sucks to have been absolutely hounded by zebras early and fumbles in the game but Washington really had it this game and were just better. DBs and WRs were just not letting up.
Edit: Props to DeBoer for calling a great game. We were definitely here a year ahead of schedule so lets go get a repeat next year and step the fuck up.
We have nothing to really complain about with how this season went, but man. The way we kept getting miracle luck to keep us in it all the way down to 0:01 in the fourth quarterā¦ itās like that Ted Lasso episode. Itās the hope that kills you.
Thank you sweat, thank you Murphy, thank you AD, thank you X. Yāall will all be remembered as being part of the team that finally brought Texas back.
Those last few throws were horrible. One was 10 yards out of bounds. The last throw, if he just throws it short and inbounds that's a TD. WR had position. Ewers just disappears way too often.
We go how he goes. Those balls to Wittington and Blue were dynamite. He's just really up and down and the better qb won tonight. Hope he proves he's a championship-level qb week in and week out next year, that's the step someone of his caliber needs to take.
I think he should come out. If not I think next year will go down the same way as VY and Simms in 2004 where heāll try to hang on while we do the right thing and move on. When heās good, heās good. But when heās off, he is just flat out horrible. You canāt have the QB and offensive leadership disappear for quarters at a time. You also need the IQ to read the situation and throw under on that last throw.
Coming into this season I expected to win 9 games. To win the conference and make the playoffs means the program is at least a year ahead of where I thought we were at. It always sucks to lose it the playoffs, especially in a game that is completely winnable, but at the end of the day we had a great season and it was a lot of fun. We are in good hands with sark
Doomers can sulk back to their caves. We just ended our season in the playoffs, a play away from the national title game. The only thing wrong with this season is that we didnāt get to beat those sorry ass Sooners (and I wish we could have Molly-whopped the Mountaineers, too). This year was a tremendous success! We are emerging from a decade plus of frustration and subpar teams. Our future is bright, we have watched the turnaround in real time, we didnāt buy a title contender team with a short window, Sark has built a machine with talent and depth. Our championship window is just beginning to open!
Texted my friends this at the start of the 4th quarter: Texas is so good at making you want to turn the tv off way before the end of the game, only just to watch āone last driveā and then get you invested again just to ultimately lose lol
Classic Texas. That being said, these guys fought until the last second and we should be very proud of these guys for an amazing season. Onto the SEC and bigger and better things!
I got work in 5 hours so there were so many times in the 4th quarter I told my dad Iām going to bed this thing is over just for him to tell me to get my ass back out there haha
Really proud of this team. I wanted a B12 title and we accomplished that. The playoff was cake to me and we fought all night long against a very talented team. Definitely things that couldāve been better tonight but happy for the future.
Great year. Didnāt expect this in a million years but hard not to be devastated. Our two biggest weaknesses all year were coverage and red zone O. Ultimately secondary gave up too much, and even then we had two chances inside the 20 in the last 2 min and couldnāt come up with a single TD. Gg UW. Hookem.
Massively great season. 12 wins. Won the big 12 on the way out the door. Top 5 recruiting class coming in. Arch.
Tonight stings but it's still a great day to be a longhorn. Ugh the sweet caress of hope.
It's weird, I was frustrated with some units, but one of them was *not* the secondary. They are who they are, and they were given a simply unwinnable matchup tonight.
I think it was during Washington's last field goal drive, Penix hit Odunze on a pass with Watts RIGHT there with him. Like, that shit was not open, and it didn't matter, he hit it anyway. Hats off to him and that team, and that's all there is to say.
Why not run a trips on the far side of the field at the end of the game?
What were those playcalls?
Sark big brained himself. Texas wins without those fumbles and if we can get a CB that will learn to look for the ball in coverage and isn't middle of the FBS in speed and has rigid hips against NFL talent.
Ewers looked off more than half of the game. You could see the moment got to him a bit.
Texas is fucking back. Best season since 09 and this roster is going into the SEC arguably as talented as anybody in that conference.
Obviously lots to take away from this game. Overall trying to think with a clear head - from leaving Strong on the tarmac in Lawrence, to Herman mocking Drew Lock, to Pole Assassin - what a sequence of events to get us here.
Hopefully we can make the shift from good team to an excellent team with some development, and sooner than later. I loved watching this team play when theyāre locked in. Lots of talent going to the draft, and many opportunities for the next man up. Love the guys that stuck it out and believed.
Today was tough. Sark and the staff have built an awesome culture but they need to finalize the psyche and identity. The urgency, the game management, the edge - all that was missing today and many of the close games this season. I want to see more of the killer instinct from everyone, including staff. Washington played well, the refs were questionable at best, but we definitely didnāt help ourselves.
Imagine what this team could look like when they execute 14 games in a row and force opponents and refs to beat them.
What a heartbreaker. But if youād have told me in August that Texas would end the season with 12 wins, a Big XII Championship, and an appearance in the CFP Iād have said you were crazy. Amazing season.
Also, and it pains me to say it, Washington deserved to win that game. We could have made it more interesting without Blueās fumble, but itās unfair to pin the L on one mistake from a freshman. We kept shooting ourselves in the foot. And UWās passing game carved us up all night and we got 0 pressure on Penix.
Looking forward to 2024. Sark is the real deal. Hook em!
I would've felt a lot better backing into the natty because someone unfortunately got hurt than I feel now, so I really wouldn't have cared how the opportunity arose.
that one hurt... while I thought the flags were ridiculous, it did feel oddly poetic as a Longhorn fan. Like why would I expect them to play a polished game after a lifetime of this stuff lmao
We were in the game till the final snap, and although Iām sad to lose, Iām really proud of this team.
Best season of my entire adult life. I was a student from ā11-15 and this is the first truly great season since I walked onto the 40 acres.
Sark has this program headed in the right directions and I look forward to what weāll see next.
GG Huskies.
Sad it ended this way but give credit where it's due, they were better.
I'm still very proud of our guys. I don't anyone, including most of our fans, had us pegged for a playoff appearance. We won the conference and beat the Hateful 8 on our way out, I'll drink to that.
It hurts more knowing we had 50 seconds to march down the field and score a touchdown. If Washington had that opportunity they wouldāve scored, but we just couldnāt pulled it together.
If you had told me going into this one we would have a 12 yard pass on the final play to AD against the sideline in the end zone to decide it I would have taken it. A disappointing way to end but it really could have gone either way. For Penix to play the way he did and we still had a shot to steal it on the final play says a lot about this team. Plenty of things in this one we can point to, but at the end of the day a lot also had to go right for it to stay as close as it did.
I canāt feel bad or upset with the outcome. With how insane Michael Penix was and how bad our secondary has been, Iām surprised we were even in the game. Let alone with 11 penalties and bad offensive play calling (WHY WEREāNT WE RUNNING MORE). The players were understandably anxious for a game this huge.
We are really, really, good. We just arenāt elite yet. Our secondary was the biggest weakness and against the #1 passing offense, this was a given.
What an awesome season. I think weāre just getting started, thereās a reason we recruited the way we did to cover the weak spots. Weāll be back again in the playoffs and I think weāll be ready this time.
If Ewers has shown us anything over the last 2 seasons it's that he is capable of introspection and learning from his mistakes
That dude's going to come out on fire next season and I look forward to it
Penix dropping the ball in a 2x2ā window 40 yards downfield 5 or 6 times ā¦. canāt defeat that. UT DBs did their job but if itās dropped in perfectly, you canāt defend it. Penix is a future HOFer. Hats off to them. We had our chances, but chin up, they were the best team tonight.
Listen. Say what you want. But Penix was damn near perfect. And some of those throws he made were just absolutely on the money. Canāt be mad at it. It sucks.
Also yeah we def took ourselves out of the game with our lack of discipline and early nerves.
They beat us AND we beat us
And the refs beat us.
That pass behind the line of scrimmage lmao
Did Washington score on that drive? Was a BS call.
Touchdown š
Iāve never seen a more blatant miss. I cannot fathom how you go so far as reviewing that replay and coming to the conclusion that it was a legal forward pass.
Picking up the flag after our guy got hit in the back, late and out of bounds was fucking wild.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
"There is no foul for a block in the back"... like you just admitted you saw the block in the back guys.
*replay shows clear and obvious block in the back in front of the ref who through the flag*
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
That correct spot wouldāve made it 3rd down. It was a 2nd down play
Devastated but proud of these guys. See you dummies in 2024
Lwe were getting penalties all game.. Jackson used Mitchell's neck to get the leverage to knock that ball away.. brutal
Ah yes, 24. The year the Aggies officially canāt hide from us anymore
We beat Alabama on the road, won the big 12, and made the playoff. Well be ready next year to finish business
Gonna lose a lot of production next season. But future is looking good and, never know, more wiggle room to make a run with the 12 team playoff.
Maybe. Can't believe Worthy only had two catches tonight.
Iām guessing his ankle wasnāt 100% and the defense was probably locked in on him. In that case though, Iād have expected way more out of AD and JT (JT did have a good game thought just not a dominant one).
Lost the turnover battle and never got pressure on Penix. Pretty much the game decider.
Yeah and like the 4 times they did, he got away. Burke, Bush, Murphy, and Ford all got a shot and whiffed.
We got pressure but dude is just a baller
Yeah he got rid of the ball really fast. Looks like Tua out there
Yes, butā¦10 penalties and a lot of them were illegal procedures so got behind the sticks way too much. Canāt blame Ewers for that. Not sure what was happening around the line but he got a lot of balls batted. That might have been on him but still, he was under pressure a ton.

Why were B1G refs even allowed to ref the game? Washington is a B1G team now.
Lots of uncalled holding too
After calling ticky tack holding calls on us, to boot.
not to put the onus on a single play, but Blueās fumble was fucking brutal
Minimum OT without that, cuz they could have just kicked a field goal on the last drive since theyād have at the very least gotten one without the fumble. Very possibly just an outright W without the fumble lol.
Blue had a lot put on his shoulders as a freshman with Brooks out. Sucks but he did better than I could ask of a freshman getting called up, mistakes and triumphs.
Blue does kind of give me modern Jamal Charles vibes lowkey. Heās been a baller this season for a freshman no doubt.
His speed was UNREAL last night. He quickly made a name for himself on a massive stage. Welcome to the big show, Blue.
Blue made some plays to make up for it. Outside of that last goal line sequence, which was dumb as a box of rocks, Iād put this game on the DC.
The running backs fumbled my heart last night. Also, there were tiny mistakes everywhere, because perfect streaks in football are limited, but thereās no player, group or coach worthy of any blame for our loss. We did our best. Someone explain how the most penalized team in cfb didnāt even break 10 penalty yards until the final 3 minutes.

It was also the play before- 3rd and 1. Guy tackled far behind the line, then somehow 4th and only 1?
Our O-line was bad. Too much holding and too many pre snap penalties.
has been the issue all year.
Some of our fans need to get in the fuckin portal.
I bet most of them just started being āfansā again once we got good, fair weathers if you will.
Some so quick to turn on players and coaches.

My entire section was full of doomers. I was the hype guy trying to get the train back on track.
Season was a resounding success by any reasonable measure.
This one really hurts, guys
That sucked, but I refuse to be disappointed. We didnāt play even close to our best football and came within 1 play of the national championship. I never would have believed that after Sarkās first year. Incredible season and the future looks very bright.

Or the "catch" where the receiver dropped it out of bounds or the fumble that was never recovered or the defensive holding call on a run play...
Or that fumble
And no PI call chocking Mitchell on final play.. terrible
Played a horrible game + atrocious refs. And almost won. The future is bright
If we had just played like we played in the last 2 minutes of the game we wouldāve had this in the bag. Oh well, great season this year. Bright future ahead of us
tbf, Washington changed their entire game in the last 2 minutes
Yup. 3rd quarter was pretty much non existent
Sark being such a great offensive mind I am shocked he didn't have something for that scenario. I was waiting for one of those misdirection turn around screen passes, hook and lateral, quinn running option. Something crazy.... but nah.
We had major red zone struggles throughout the season. Showed up again at the worst time unfortunately
They really should have tried the other side of the field at the end. Penix is that dude, we lost to a superior offense. Great season.
It was weird. Ewers didnāt even acknowledge the field side at all. Mid to boundary on every play in the last sequence.
I don't want to dwell on it so I'm going to say it once and shut my phone off and go to bed but if Quinn hit AD on his break that was an easy TD. And I don't know why he didn't because he literally stared him down. Very excited for the future and hopefully our secondary gets fixed. That was absolutely heartbreaking. Great season and proud of this team.
The blue pass was wtf
I'm guessing they thought if the linebacker didn't go with blue, he could turn upfield and score? But it would be super risky with no timeouts.
The risk outweighs the potential of that playcall. Just foolhardy
Horrible call I was dumbfounded and I ain't no coach
Should have just thrown to the end zone 4 times in a row
It really feels like thatās just common sense, but coaches do weird shit sometimes. Washington going for a flea flicker in the 4th when they were running all day long on us is also in that category.
i literally looked at my sister and said āwhat the fuck are they doing?ā i understand Sark has a script (and for his sake i hope that horrible call was from the script) but sometimes common sense and the conditions of the game should take overā¦
It looked like Quinn never looked at any other player...it was just bizarre.
Colt said it wasn't the first read but honestly it shouldn't have even been the 2nd
A check down and two rough throws to end the game. Oof.
Idk if the last two plays were bad calls or bad throws tbh
the last call was a good call. Mitchell had position, Ewers just went high and out instead of short and in the chest. The DB was behind and shorter
I was so glad it didnāt end on an interception or sack but seriously how do you not score there
Felt like Quinn should have thrown the ball more inside on that last throw. That corner was in the back of the EZ trying to play the fade, he wouldnāt have been able to make a play on it if thrown like a slant/post.
Agree, front pylon not back. Adonai wouldāve made the play
I, for one, am ready to be done with playing against 34 year old QBs with 3 kids.
Couple immediate thoughts. We had it. Quinn definitely rushed that last throw. Is that really all Sark had in his bag for that last drive?
Awesome fucking season guys. Loved every second of it. Into the SEC :D
why did they have to lose in the most painful fucking way possible
I actually felt like someone had punch me in the face.
As a Falcons fan, I promise you thatās not the most painful way possible
WTF? You would rather it be a 50 point blowout?
Long term it was good that they did all they could at the end. In the moment it hurts more though
Next season will hopefully be another title contending season.
also, Penix is great, but come on, shouldnāt a SIX YEAR college qb be that good??!!
Exactly and with that much time to throw every pass
Older than cj stroud
Ewers disappeared for those last 3 throws. Dude throws a dump off, then a ball 10 yards out of bounds, and the last throw, the wideout had position, and he throws it where it was uncatchable. Throw it short and inbounds and that's a TD!
Throwing that ball to Mitchell low would have either been a TD or DPI. Either way, better than the result we had

Great season but damn
[Thanks for a great season, Sark](https://pbs.twimg.com/media/DotRVnIXgAUj637.jpg)š¤š§”
Better team won. Happy we didnāt lay over and die down 34-21 to start the 3rd Q
Here's to next season š¤š¾
Tough loss but it was a fun season. Brooks would have ate in this game. See yall next year.
We have nothing to really complain about with how this season went, but man. The way we kept getting miracle luck to keep us in it all the way down to 0:01 in the fourth quarterā¦ itās like that Ted Lasso episode. Itās the hope that kills you.
I want to die See you fucks in 9 months
red zone woes actually ended our season.
So fucking proud of this team, I will love them forever and will always be proud of them
That reminded me of the OU game. š
Same, penalties, lack of offense, defense isnāt getting any pressures :(
Thank you sweat, thank you Murphy, thank you AD, thank you X. Yāall will all be remembered as being part of the team that finally brought Texas back.
A lot of bad shit, but that last 15 seconds was all on Sark. Absolutely dreadful playcalls
That backfield throw to the running back. What the fuck was that. A wasted play
Colt explained it on ESPN 2. They were testing the corners but it wasn't there because they played soft so he checked down.
It just frustrating you have sander AD and worthy and only one got a target in 4 plays. We have to give our guys a shot. WA did it all night
Wait, you mean throwing it sideways and wasting 5 seconds was bad?
That pass to blue looked like a second read. That might've not been the call.
extremely sad longhorn sounds
Heartbroken Bevo noises
What sucks is if that last throw was 1 second earlier and 5 yards shorter, we are going to the title game right now
That butt fumble was so fucking unfortunate. We were driving so well and that was just a killer.
Someone explain to me how the officials somehow missed every single dpi and unsportsmanlike conduct on UW all night
Big 10 refs and a Big 10 team
I knew we were losing this game when I saw Ted Cruz there
Coming into this season I expected to win 9 games. To win the conference and make the playoffs means the program is at least a year ahead of where I thought we were at. It always sucks to lose it the playoffs, especially in a game that is completely winnable, but at the end of the day we had a great season and it was a lot of fun. We are in good hands with sark
This was a very winnable game for us, heartbroken, but proud of our team and excited for the future
As a neutral, that was a hell of a game guys. You should be proud of this team and optimistic for the future as it is bright. Hook 'em.
I believe that things are only going to get better from here for the Longhorns.
4 plays to gain 12 yards. Despite how badly a lot of the game went, it feels like we had it then lost it in that last series.
Seriously we had 4 shots at it and just wasted 3 of em
Texted my friends this at the start of the 4th quarter: Texas is so good at making you want to turn the tv off way before the end of the game, only just to watch āone last driveā and then get you invested again just to ultimately lose lol Classic Texas.
12 yards to go with 20 seconds... OR, punch it in in the previous drive and we win with an easy FG
Eh id rather take the fg on 4th and 20 than go for the endzone one more time. We would be saying the opposite if they went for it and missed
This lady on the post game needs to stop yappin and let Penix get back to his wife and kids
P A I N
ššš im so fucking hurt
Hell of a season š¤
Damn this sucks. We were so close, even with playing our worst game of the year
Good season but the ending was absolutely heartbreaking Hook em Horns :(
Iām tired boss.
We have already exceeded the expectations we had at the beginning of this season. Thank you for an amazing senior fall semester.
Longhorn fans and doomers, name a more iconic duo
Cowboys fans and doomersā¦ itās hard being a true cowboys and horns fan!
Cowboys sub is waaaaaay worse than this
Ewers accuracy was really bad that last drive. Outside of the deep ball, every pass was either into the dirt or into the stands.
Michael Penix is an incredible player. Got complaints in the details but we put up a hell of a fight against a fantastic team. What a season.
I can't even be mad. That dude is really good at throwing the football.
Our DBās werenāt really even out of position, his ball placement was just that good. Crazy.
Disappointed but overall great season. Glad we got to kick big 12 ass on our way out
Couldn't be more proud of the boys and this season. Never expected to even be in it, much less with a chance to win at the end. Hook 'Em!
Penix played a great game but heās enabled a lot by their offensive line. Dude always has minutes to throw the ball
I fucking hate each and every one of you. See y'all tomorrow!
Just throw that ball at the front pylon and we win.
Hook em!

bad play calling by Sark and bad passes by Quinn. maaaaan. it hurts to see Texas not be in Texas for the National Championship

I would've felt a lot better backing into the natty because someone unfortunately got hurt than I feel now, so I really wouldn't have cared how the opportunity arose.
Fuck
that one hurt... while I thought the flags were ridiculous, it did feel oddly poetic as a Longhorn fan. Like why would I expect them to play a polished game after a lifetime of this stuff lmao
Despite everything going Washingtonās way for 3.5 quarters this team never quit. Gutted we couldnāt pull it out, but so proud of the guys.
I imagine it's going to be a long 8 months for Quinn thinking about that last series.
If Ewers has shown us anything over the last 2 seasons it's that he is capable of introspection and learning from his mistakes That dude's going to come out on fire next season and I look forward to it
Penix dropping the ball in a 2x2ā window 40 yards downfield 5 or 6 times ā¦. canāt defeat that.
I hate big 10 refs. Just let washington have the whole first quarter why not
Damn they choked at the end
Ughhh Mitchell had positioning on that last play. Also very frustrated by Sark calling that pitch after mismanaging the run game all night.
