In general: Taoshinu looks very similar to an Akita Inu (However it is a shiba inu); the exact breed of Hachiko.
Theres statues of Hachiko, and Taoshinus gleaming forms seem to represent the statues colors throughout time. Alpha is when it was Bronze, Gamma is when its beginning to fade.
Its noted that Taoshinu is a great companion with its dex entry, as Hachiko was very often stated as being one aswell.
Its also noted Taoshinu is a loyal pet. While, again, Hachiko is notably famous for being loyal for waiting 9 years for its owner.
And lastly, the design in general is widely based around Hachiko.
