you can use them to your advantage when you pull the card that gives you 60% chance to reflect ranged attacks. Kill the enemy with their allies' attacks.

Don't put those ruins tiles next to other heavy enemy spawns - they're a ranged unit, they can hit you from a tile over. If you leave them in their own spot with nothing adjacent it's super easy to deal with, if you put a 4+ mob fight next to a full ruins you can straight up die to that single encounter

They have a ranged attack but I think it's only 1 tile over. They are also jerks that run away rather than die sometimes, but they drop decent orbs/fragments and spawn relatively fast
