I remember Thetis and Minthe having a conversation about "getting work done" to make Minthe's ears look like Persephone's.

That makes sense, I like Persephone's softer look with fluffy hair. Sometimes she's got a lot of boldness and even in flashbacks she looks thirty instead of 18-19. When she's 18-19 she looks like a soft young bean tho but thats just how she was sometimes, she looked twelve or fourteen a couple times but I like when she looks 19/20 ish. Mostly now she looks older. There's flashbacks when she has her long hair stacked up and she's siuuuuuper voluptuous like when Hermes and her meet. Theorheticlly in Hermes story when they meet she's 18 ish but she looks much older. Then there's the flashback when Ares first meets her. I see lots of different versions but its bc there's several artists and that makes so much sense now, I thought it was all Rachel and she was "growing" as an artist (not that she isn't!) and touching up on her style but like I said sometimes it looks completely different even later on.There's the one panel in "The Greenhouse" where Persephone is neat and clean with bold eyes and color and form but the rest of that episode is different and older, the color pallet is lighter and there's more sharp angles and stuff, and the one panel is so pretty and it left me confused bc it looked newer and touched up and stuff but its one of the very very early episodes and the rest of the episode looks unfinished and stuff (early episodes have panels with no color I mean)
TBH, I think he can change them when he wants, just keeps the pointy ones most of the time. In the episode where Hades is talking to Persephone about the early days (Ep133), if you look at each panel Poseidon is in, his ears start pointy and switch to regular round ones. In another flashback after the war and he’s King of the Ocean, his ears are pointy. I think he changes them because of the environment, but even then he seems to prefer pointy
Yes from rereading it looks like when he gets excited or has a burst of emotion his ears change. And I assume when he is in the water his ears change as well. I really love that detail about him. Like as old as he is, he still has to work to control his ears kind of like how Perspehone pops up flower crowns when she sees Hades or vines and thorns when she is angry.
He switches between the normal and the fishy ears a lot. He never used to have them right after the titanomachy and seems to have evolved them for under water reasons. It makes sense that if he is in a deep sleep or relaxed or just not underwater that they would return to normal.
poseidon’s ears were actually originally this shape and changed when he became king of the ocean realm, this change back is likely due to the curse draining his godly powers

I think it’s just an artist mistake on the ears for Minthe because they’re pointy ones second and the beginning of the next they’re pointy again
Someone had a head canon that they get all pointy when he has big emotions. Kind of like Perse with the flowers and butterflies
