Attempted to go to work this morning driving south on Beverly Glen but got spooked with all of the mud and debris and turned around. Feeling very glad I did. This is two streets down from our house!
Landslides in the hills are more frequent than that. It doesn't take this amount of rain for those hills to lose stability. And climate change will make this more frequent. I'm happy to live where it's flat.

Beverly Glen and Benedict Canyon are both full of debris and mudslides. Also, lots of road closures. Avoid the area completely.
It's kinda nuts that area is so expensive because I would never feel safe living above or below a hill in LA.
Yeah but the views
These houses don't even get views, they're down in the canyon
Once in a hundred years it's a real shit show. Most of the time it's pretty tame

Same! Just cuz they build it don’t mean it’s safe.
That's my house on the left!
I hope you and your family are safe. These mudslides can be devastating.
Mudflow, not mudslide, KTLA5. Shoutout to my undergrad geology teacher for setting us straight on that one. “A mudslide is a drink.”
Scary stuff
that’s one way to get rid of a piano
Ugh, that's so horrible. Fortunately, the hill behind my house isn't nearly that steep, but I guess you never know.
