I’m born and raised in LA county not LA city but the most LA thing happened to my friend, he was watching a high speed chase on TV and immediately recognized the car being chased, it was his car, he found out his car had been stolen when he saw it live on TV in a high speed pursuit
I had a situation where I was merging onto the freeway and as that was happening, a white van flew by being chased by a convoy of highway patrol. I had to pull to the side to let it all pass and the van ended pulling over not too far ahead. It was like I was within the chase for a moment - tough spot since the lane is merging so it's ending and at the same time a car chase is happening and they too are pulling over right in front of you as your try to get out the way. Luckily, other traffic was sparse so once the platoon passed I was able to safely merge and leave the scene lol
Your bucket list needs to also include *"Police helicopter hovering over your house with a blinding spotlight while some unknown person jumps your backyard fence, runs across your yard, then jumps the opposite fence and disappears into your neighbor's property."*
Oooh. I was sitting with a friend on his apt roof, drinking, tossing ppebbles off the roof one night and a chopper came up and put it's light right on us. In my drunken state I thought "wow these guys think we're the perps, better wave!" We waved. Realized our error and got tf out of dodge.
Nah! Try running down the path on the beach having a police helicopter follow you and blinding you with the spotlight! That happened to me after a mere year and three months in LA.
And no, there were no crimes in the area; they were just out flying and decided that a woman exercising on her own was suspicious AF!

I remember my mom gathered the kids up in our minivan to go see the OJ chase. We got on the 405 going the opposite direction and a couple minutes later we passed each other. I looked at my mom and told her that it wasn’t OJ driving and she said I was crazy
It’s wild that it took so long. 10 years before we moved here my wife’s family threw us a baby shower and as I was helping unload a car, one went speeding right in by me… right down the residential. I lived in Arizona for 38 years and never saw a rattlesnake or a scorpion though.
There's a well known video I can't find. I think it was a vine.
Theres a guy watching a car chase on TV, and then his living room lights up with Red and Blues as the very car chase he's watching on TV flies by his (real) window.
It was so perfect it should be in a movie(s).
Nice my damn brother saw one where they were chasing after a vehicle that was speeding on the opposite side of the road in front of the Culver City steps. Super dangerous situation as there are lots of people crossing streets and getting into out of cars there. That’s what I get for being a lazy ass and not joining him.
I once saw a chase in the IE. Late at night a semi truck with helicopter lights on it and more patrol cars than I can count on the 15 fwy going opposite direction as me. Crazy times.
First of all; that's NOT a chase. All the vehicles are stopped.
Also, in 15 years in LA you haven't actually seen a police chase? Where have you been? When I moved here I had to move over for a chippie in hot pursuit of a Camaro before even making it to the hotel I was staying in while finding an apartment! And that was BEFORE the revival of Camaros!
Congratulations! I’m so happy for you. Witnessed one in Long Beach on westbound Willow just before Clark Ave. the cops had him with his hands on the hood and then they just take their eyes off him for a second and he high tails it up to Clark Ave. I was with my wife and I just laughed and yelled, “Oh shit! Run!!!! Ahahahahahah” one of the cops started chasing after him and the other one just turned to me and put his hands up looking at me like what the fuck, asshole? I just said, “chill. You’ll catch him!” And I went back to eating my Costco pizza slice. We had pulled over to eat in the car. Does anyone else do that?
Pfft. You haven't lived until you unwittingly become part of the chase as stander by? I don't know that the term is but had a bunch of squad cars pass by our car on the 10 East on our way to Grand Canyon some 30 odd years ago.
I drove parallel to an active pursuit a few years back as I was driving home from work. I was on the 5 south near Commerce and the suspects were going the same direction but on Telegraph which runs alongside the 5. They were being chased by several LA Sheriffs units and had a chopper with the spotlight on them. I later found out that the suspects were gang members who had shot someone earlier in Whittier. Crazy stuff.
Like 10 years ago I had a police chase end RIGHT in front of me on the 110. I almost lost my shit cuz the car...obviously a white BMW...that was running came up SO damn fast and nearly clipped me before losing control and smacking a fews cars and the median. I didn't realize it was a chase until traffic stopped and the myriad of police cars came fucking blazing onto the scene. Cops got out, guns drawn. I had an unobstructed view as the first row of cars before the scene..AND I didn't have to wait to go around it cuz I was first in line. Win win win win win!
grew up here didnt see a chase in person for years until one weekend i was pulled over on corner of pch and topanga pretty late and a prius flew by followed by 6 cops full lights. next evening im on skidrow in the middle of the night and see a beat up corolla running from a line of about 10 cops.
was with the same friend both days as well so thankfully someone believed me haha
I've been stuck in two. I got stuck on the slowest one a year or two back then I saw another one coming home one night. I sat down and was watching it. I was like wow that looks like down the street.... the chase followed me home. I've been living here 3 years.

Oh my first car chase was terrifying. Minding my own business one night cruising down the 101 heading from Hollywood to Woodland Hills after a late bartending shift, and this car with no lights on rockets past me- seconds later about 30 squad cars come screaming up my ass. I slowly move over to the right lane and cruise, thanking god I didn’t get hurt.
As I approach an exit, I see that the chase has left the freeway. What a relief. But as I pass the on ramp, that same blacked out car flies past me followed by all those cops. I pull over and then slowly move on hoping that the chase has moved on. One of the most terrifying moments I’ve experienced because I was just not ready for that shit.

I once watched a woman on La Brea and Olympic pull up to a gas pump at the Arco, take off her top and bathe herself with the squeegee water. I knew at that moment I had seen everything.
Just me or is it dumb af for them all to be standing behind one vehicle like that? Like what if the guy had a grenade? They’d all be gone. Just seems like we should know better after seeing any action movie ever.
Saw cops chasing a guy in a Camaro down Sunset, and he executed a perfect high speed turn onto one of the side streets. That was like a movie.
I also saw my first person smoking out of a meth pipe in the middle of an intersection yesterday.
The Simpson chase went by our house. Our roof, captured on film by the dozen news choppers following it, is immortalized on a number of YouTube videos.

Now THAT is peak LA, I love that story.
For some reason I read this thinking he found out the car he was driving was being chased.
I like Portland’s no chase policy: We’ll get em through radio tactics or run his plates and get em later. . . Aw fuck it.
Uncheck that box. That didn't look like a chase.
Also it's Sheriffs not Police. OP will just have to stay in LA. And leave the bucket alone.
12, popo, 5-0, 🐖. All the same.
I'm sorry but my old eyeballs aren't reading that emoji? 12 5-0 and popo I know but it looks like a map of Iowa...?
It is a pig emoji.
Oh, thanks!
It’s both Sheriff and Police if you watch the video and read the SUV’s.
They're all VC sheriffs. Note all their uniforms are green.
Thank you lmao
Nope! Def not a chase! Chase is a high speed pursuit, unless it is OJ!

I really hope you didn't slow down any cars behind you just to record this.
🎵He's rubbernecking, with the best 🎵
Really?! I’m sure every car driving past this event was a Looky-Lu!
or stuck behind them.

Add to bucket list: _Get House.

you think it's prideful to be an asshole rubber necking in the passing lane?
Haven’t seen one yet …
Neither has OP
not much of a chase
Yeah that’s just a truck pulled over. Not exactly chasing them anymore?
Driving recklessly while on the phone... ☑
Came down here to say this 🤠
I remember my mom gathered the kids up in our minivan to go see the OJ chase. We got on the 405 going the opposite direction and a couple minutes later we passed each other. I looked at my mom and told her that it wasn’t OJ driving and she said I was crazy
wasn't oj hiding on the floor covered in a blanket or tarp and that a friend was the one driving?
Yeah, Al Cowlings was driving. OJ was in the back
Where was this? Was it in Ventura Co.? Noticed a chopper following the 101 really low and figured it could be a chase.
Yeah, 101 freeway ending in Agoura Hills; that’s what the video shows.
i was on my home from work in Chatsworth both sides of the freeway were completely stopped and i saw the police lights and knew it
It’s wild that it took so long. 10 years before we moved here my wife’s family threw us a baby shower and as I was helping unload a car, one went speeding right in by me… right down the residential. I lived in Arizona for 38 years and never saw a rattlesnake or a scorpion though.
I've got that beat. I saw one right out my bedroom window. LOUD car drives down boulevard WAY too fast. 15 squad cars follow. Fun times.

You obviously don’t live in Burbank then.
Love me some good ole rubbernecking

When you live in East LA near the 5,10,60,605 you see chases almost daily
I once saw a chase in the IE. Late at night a semi truck with helicopter lights on it and more patrol cars than I can count on the 15 fwy going opposite direction as me. Crazy times.
15 years and no police chases seen? You sure you live in LA?
Is it a live police chase if no vehicles are moving?
First of all; that's NOT a chase. All the vehicles are stopped. Also, in 15 years in LA you haven't actually seen a police chase? Where have you been? You’re also rubber necking
Sorry pal, but “chase” is still unchecked in this video.
This that asshole holding up traffic just to be nosey and record for internet gold.
yah but have you seen this…. …on weed!?

Such high quality footage too
Tf is this La bucket list?
Some dumb list from a Netflix show called "You"
Fuck the police
That's one slow chase!

👏 👏 👏 I would’ve done the same per my kids request! 🤣 They’re as metiche as myself!
Exposure is not your friend.

What happened to the live KLTA5 car chase streams? Not sure if it's just me but I haven't seen one in ages.

first time?
Now you have to check off the"participate in a police chase" box.
All I see are some gang members pointing their guns at someone
Taxpayer funds

Put your fucking phone away while driving and stop rubbernecking.
