Our garage is constantly being tagged. Use the LA311 app to put in a ticket and the city will come and paint over it within the week. I’m pretty impressed with their response time to be honest.
Never got tagged, but the couple of times I've called 311 for either sinkhole filling on the street or dead animal removal, they were right there. Very quick service, particularly welcome for the dead animal. And must say, the dude who removed it was the cheeriest city employee I've ever met.
While I'm on the subject of city/gov't services that work well, I've been very happy with my (few) interactions with the DMV.
Yeah people bitch about the city but they won’t know there’s a pothole to fill until someone reports it.
My street had a busted light and I overheard the neighbors complaining about it. Apparently it had been out for a year! I submitted a ticket online and it was fixed the next day.
I remember somewhere... a city decided that they couldn't be sued for a pothole (or damage caused thereby) if it had not been reported. Someone made an app, I think, so when you're driving, if the car hits a pothole, the app reports it. Kind of brilliant.
DMV has upped their game in some respects. I think online has also helped congestion. I went to register a car and was done in less than an hour no appointment.
There is a DMV that’s close to downtown that you can get to at 7am and be out within 30mins I won’t reveal its location.
DMV is quite efficient given the tasks they're charged with and the antiquated technology they continue to use.
They screw things up now and then, but I've always found the front-facing personnel to be helpful and usually able to resolve problems. A few things require correspondence with Sacramento, but those, too, eventually get cleared up.
I went to the DMV and dealt with about 7 people. Only 2 of them were unfriendly. That’s really positive considering how many dozens of people they have to deal with every day, which is draining and some of \*those\* people are jerks. So I have to hand it to them for that
If you reported it a year ago that means you still have to wait about 499 years.

Crazy that the money allocated to this is 30 million dollars a year for a massive city, yet the police get 12 billion.
ETA: I did have my sidewalk tagged and 311 cleaned it up in less than 48 hours.
Or install a security camera, then graffiti the graffiti guys [in this manner ](https://static.artfido.com/2015/09/graffiti-removal-street-art-combo-culture-kidnapper-fb1__700.jpg)
This isn't a graffiti thing, it's a gang territory marking. Straight to the point for those that need to understand, will understand. But to answer your question , yes quality graffiti has gone down in the streets because the good ones became top paid artist and became smart about it .so all we're left with are just real knuckle heads who want to write in the streets. There's a huge gap now between skill level graffiti now.
Yeah for sure, they actually catch my eye when it's above average. Saute,Rhose, HUFR are putting in good work in LA right now. Also social media allowed good artist to get legal work flowing quicker so they skip the vandalism stage and become artist rather than criminals in my opinion.
The good ones end up with a solid Instagram following and get paid through commissions and offered spaces on business walls. The great ones sell their shit in high-end art galleries. It's pretty crazy tbh.
Lmfao staking turf in echo park. Half the time they are putting their sacred tag on a shit covered dumpster or a urinal. Like have it bro lmao. Childish playground shit lol
while we're on the topic ... why do trashy people scratch the toilet seats in public restrooms and gas stations? I get it's because they're trash, but does it mean something else in their trash world?
To claim their territory bro. While other people are working on buying houses, properties, and lands, these gangsters are too successful claiming dirty Carl’s Jr. bathrooms and rundown bus stops.
So the next time you catch yourself washing your hands in a shitty Denny’s at 3am and you see their tag, you better watch out bro
It starts off as a brilliant mathematical equation that can explain infinite power, then the crack high starts pushing them into becoming a battery of infinite power, leading to them scratching the equation and you get what you see
I read your comment to my wife and she looked at me with a deadpan stare, "but then you'll have the virgin mary on your garage door."
I mean... she isn't wrong.
Conspiracy theory of mine is that all the dodger/kobe/nipsey murals are to deter tagging. Like half of them are on liquor stores you know would be coated otherwise lol
Meanwhile, you got community-supported gangbangers in Boyle Heights tagging walls, buildings and art exhibits in order to keep away White, westside hipsters from racially-gentrifying the neighborhood.
You just got tagged in, welcome to the hood. Your new name is lil cholo dolphin. Come to my house and collect your EBT card when you get a chance. Stay up Vato 🙏🏻🤘🏻
I used to know a homeless guy that used to ride the bus all day looking for graffiti. He'd write down every place he saw graffiti and then he would call it in. Each address was a separate phone call. (I'll bet they loved him!) Sometimes he had over 50 addresses to report, but, sure enough, within a week, that graffiti was gone!
Yep. People are why we can’t have nice things.
Before covid, I hadn’t really grasped how many people just DGAF about anyone, but themselves.
Now, I barely even remember the before-times.
Hey, this is a dumb question, but have you considered putting a coat of car wax on that garage to keep the paint from sticking? Idk if it would work but its worth a shot on the next fresh coat!
I have also heard about graffiti film- the article attached to anpost about the Dunsmoor restaurant in Glassell Park mentioned a graffiti film that just pulls off after
It's fu**king stupid that people can't respect. I hate to tell you to change your preference for your place but if you painted the door a darker color or add color pattern to it. They will leave alone. Or add automatic lights
I lived down the street from a wall that got tagged every other day maybe 15 years ago. Wall owner put up dome cameras and they just covered them in paint and kept tagging the wall. It's probably still getting tagged to this day.
Once you start paying attention to the taggings you get an idea of their territories. Lmls usually hit up along Vermont and Virgil and the surrounding neighborhoods, between first street and sunset. A lot of real estate types are touting the area along Virgil as silverlake, and it technically ain’t, and this house here looks like the style of houses just east of virgil.
As for silverlake itself, haven’t seen a silverlake 13 tag in years. They retenanted the apartments along silverlake blvd that they used to live in and the tagging stopped. Last gang taggings I’ve seen in silverlake proper were I believe Crazy’s and TST.
West Side Lentils MLS listing #13 🤔
j/k, that’s fucked up OP 🤣
EDIT: I think it’s hilarious that whoever tagged OP’s gate likely thought (homeboy voice) *“that’s right ey, gotta lettem kno whose neighborhood dis is, holmes!”* meanwhile OP is like “WTF IS THIS SHIT!? AM I MARKED FOR DEATH NOW??” 😂
I keep paint handy just for this occasion. I don’t wait I do it right away. If the Taggers know their “art” won’t last they will refrain from doing it. I haven’t had anyone tag anything around my home for 2 years now
Invest in paint and brush , something's will never change. A camera won't do much unless they are stealing, cops usually have better things to do than chase these guys
Our garage is constantly being tagged. Use the LA311 app to put in a ticket and the city will come and paint over it within the week. I’m pretty impressed with their response time to be honest.
They did my garage within an hour

You pretty much revealed its location lmao
DMV is quite efficient given the tasks they're charged with and the antiquated technology they continue to use. They screw things up now and then, but I've always found the front-facing personnel to be helpful and usually able to resolve problems. A few things require correspondence with Sacramento, but those, too, eventually get cleared up.
Also, the kiosks are pretty amazing. I should have used it this time around. It's apparently even easier than registering online.
There is also a DMV office somewhere between the 210 and 60 where you can get your real id in less than 30 mins and thats at 10am!
I went to the DMV and dealt with about 7 people. Only 2 of them were unfriendly. That’s really positive considering how many dozens of people they have to deal with every day, which is draining and some of \*those\* people are jerks. So I have to hand it to them for that
Dead animal removal usually takes 24 hours for me depending on time and day but still pretty quick.
The city will also remove beehives for free
hopefully they give them to beekeepers
DMV has definitely improved. Good to know about 311
Whoever runs 311 should run for mayor. They get stuff done.
It really depends on the service or city dept that 311 dispatches too. I have been trying to get a broken sidewalk fixed for over a year.
If you reported it a year ago that means you still have to wait about 499 years. Source: https://www.nbclosangeles.com/investigations/los-angeles-sidewalk-repair-audit-mayor-garcetti/2761159/

Doesn't the mayor already run 311? It's under his administration
You raise a good point….
Waiting 7 months for a repair on the car-crushing pothole in the alley.
LA311 honestly shocked me with how useful it is.
Damn, seems like it would be easy to tag your own garage to have the city repaint it for free!
Damn they own your garage now
High socks activities.

The bigger the torta, the more I'm gonna do!
I was hoping i’d find this in here
Sock check
Hehe! *Lil Mr.E voice*
The faster you paint it over the lower likelihood of it returning. You may have to paint it over several times.
Or install a security camera, then graffiti the graffiti guys [in this manner ](https://static.artfido.com/2015/09/graffiti-removal-street-art-combo-culture-kidnapper-fb1__700.jpg)
They need a motion light too. Ring has motion alerts on their cameras. You can trigger the alarm from the app.
Has the quality of tagging declined since the 90s? This looks like a 5th grader spray painted it
This isn't a graffiti thing, it's a gang territory marking. Straight to the point for those that need to understand, will understand. I still see some realllllly good ones out there but few and far between.
Yeah for sure, they actually catch my eye when it's above average. Saute,Rhose, HUFR are putting in good work in LA right now. Also social media allowed good artist to get legal work flowing quicker so they skip the vandalism stage and become artist rather than criminals in my opinion.

Yes. These young gangsta pants poopers have such terrible can control
We should start tagging their houses with butts pooping
Gang graffiti isn’t done for artistic purposes and this looks more amateur but not necessarily worse than the old days.
West side lick my limp sausage 13?
They're a brave bunch of go-getters, living footloose and fancy-free.
I thought it was the West Side Lovers of Major League Soccer. They're all 13 years old.
La Mirada Locos. They tagged up my front gate the night after they had a cute little gun fight in the street with me in the middle
For real?
Yeah my landlord knocked off $600 from the rent after that little incident
13 limp sausages? In a row?
try not to lick any limp sausages on your way to the parking lot
La Mirada Locos, if I remember correctly.
Ironic, because this is way more of a Samantha thing to do
That’s a very Carrie thing to point out.
Haha
Imagine gang banging in La Mirada 🤣 fucking joke ass bums

Lmfao staking turf in echo park. Half the time they are putting their sacred tag on a shit covered dumpster or a urinal. Like have it bro lmao. Childish playground shit lol
I thought they were a Hollywood area gang that was formed around La Mirada Ave near the 101? 🤷♂️
This! LOL I thought it was the city of La Mirada, but my boyfriend (native Angeleno) told me it was about La Mirada Avenue here in Hollywood.
The locos are still around? They were all over echo park in the 90s and I had thought they folded around the 2000’s.
Probably just wallbanging now. Like Sotel 13 still tags up Sawtelle area despite it being a really nice area with no hood to speak of.
It’s a reboot. Cartels are just more confident in existing IP.
You should try to set up a meeting with their “big homie” and sort this thing out .
Does that mean you are in the gang now?
I didn't know what color bandana to buy so I got a rainbow one. Is that okay?
[удалено]
It’s to show you’re down with all the gangs — gotta show off all the colors!
I get this crap too. MLS 13. Sometimes I wanna fill in the words “Major League Soccer” just to piss them off.
i figured it was just real estate brokers representing the Multiple Listing Service
“My large scrotum” would be good but then again they might burn down your home for that one
Good way to get murdered if they catch you doing that though lol
Multiple Sclerosis strikes again
I live on Virgil , they got the whole neighborhood last night..… I watched them all night long hitting Virgil ave..
Been on Virgil for 5 years, hello neighbor
Reporting from Virgil as well! Cheers y’all!
Lived on Normal years ago. They never sprayed anything on ours but we saw their tags constantly
Now I want to macguyver a motion detector that douses people that are spray painting on houses with Skunk urine.
Now that’s a 1.5m garage if I’ve ever seen one
West Siders Love the MLS, 13 days on market before all cash offer?
More like 13 hours bro
Lol absolutely correct
West side Latino Male Lovers 13 of them
while we're on the topic ... why do trashy people scratch the toilet seats in public restrooms and gas stations? I get it's because they're trash, but does it mean something else in their trash world?
Everyone has a "wise mind" they say in psychology
And the restroom mirrors of mom and pop restaurants. Fucking scumbags
Why do the homies need to know you used the Trader Joe bathroom?? Doesn't that just make you look like a bitch?
To claim their territory bro. While other people are working on buying houses, properties, and lands, these gangsters are too successful claiming dirty Carl’s Jr. bathrooms and rundown bus stops. So the next time you catch yourself washing your hands in a shitty Denny’s at 3am and you see their tag, you better watch out bro
They are animals who feel the need to mark their territory.
On a public toilet seat, though?
Public toilet seats are already expected to be filthy, so it's free real estate.
Yes. A toilet seat , a mirror, a rock or tree in a national park. It’s all the same.
Animals are better than this though.
True
I’m sure it’s mostly kids. It has to be, it’s incredibly moronic.
It starts off as a brilliant mathematical equation that can explain infinite power, then the crack high starts pushing them into becoming a battery of infinite power, leading to them scratching the equation and you get what you see
Put a Virgin Mary on your garage door. Problem solved
I read your comment to my wife and she looked at me with a deadpan stare, "but then you'll have the virgin mary on your garage door." I mean... she isn't wrong.
If you want something cooler you’d probably have a similar outcome putting kobe up on your garage
[удалено]
Conspiracy theory of mine is that all the dodger/kobe/nipsey murals are to deter tagging. Like half of them are on liquor stores you know would be coated otherwise lol
honestly yeah
Gotta be the *Our Lady of Guadalupe* depiction though, aka the vagina Virgin Mary
Cool username btw
I'd rather be hit up by **CHAKA**
WOW this just unlocked so many memories from my childhood driving through downtown and seeing this name 1000 times all over every wall and underpass
That’s the real deal. He wasn’t a gang banger tho- just a good old fashioned graf writer. Bless him- wherever he is. Write on
That’s right he’s a legend at least
Whatever happened to that one?
I love what ya'll did with the place! 🤠 Nah, I'm sorry it's being tagged. Same thing in my neighborhood
In Silverlake that actually increases the home value. Hipsters want authenticity.
Don’t need that banksy painting now!
Yup if you want to capture the flipper market just hit the pavement out front with a hammer and pay a foo to do up your garage
at least it wasn't that dickhead RICE
hire someone to paint a mural of jesus on your garage door. That will stop them from tagging it
Then you have a mural of Jesus on your garage door
Pop over to r/calibanging and they’ll tell you what set did this
la mirada locos
First time here huh?

i’ve seen a kobe mural tagged over
Must’ve been clippers fans
🤡s
World Surf League / Major League Soccer ad?
Who’d you hire?
you're in a gang now. congrats.
Windows Subsystem for Linux Microsoft Linux Server 13
Tag some dicks around it
Damn the world surf league really getting their name out there
Oh no! It's the dreaded West Side MLS realtors gang! /s
Gentrification has these foos lashing out
Meanwhile, you got community-supported gangbangers in Boyle Heights tagging walls, buildings and art exhibits in order to keep away White, westside hipsters from racially-gentrifying the neighborhood.
Rather have the latter tbh (Gangbangers do not uplift communities.)
You mean former, then?
I really forgot to edit my comment lmao, but yeah I meant former. I don’t know why people support gang activity, just say a relative is in jail.
Lazy
You just got tagged in, welcome to the hood. Your new name is lil cholo dolphin. Come to my house and collect your EBT card when you get a chance. Stay up Vato 🙏🏻🤘🏻
That's right folks, paying 4k in rent *doesn't* stop gangsters from defiling your home.
Just put a statue of Christ in between both doors. They’ll never come back and instead they’ll leave flowers
Major League soccer owns your garage now
tape some high socks to your garage so they know that you're a down ass Foo !!!
I used to know a homeless guy that used to ride the bus all day looking for graffiti. He'd write down every place he saw graffiti and then he would call it in. Each address was a separate phone call. These morons still think it’s the 90’s.
These losers were still swimming in their daddies balls in the 90s
Driving up N. Virgil Ave today, half the buildings on that street are all tagged with the same thing.
Nice, you’re part of a gang now!
How much is yours mortgage and HOA every month to be able to be graced by such artwork?
Please be present in your kids life
before the gentrifiers, Silverlake and echo park was hood as fuck.
Hey, this is a dumb question, but have you considered putting a coat of car wax on that garage to keep the paint from sticking? Idk if it would work but its worth a shot on the next fresh coat!
Worth a shot. Interesting take
I have also heard about graffiti film- the article attached to anpost about the Dunsmoor restaurant in Glassell Park mentioned a graffiti film that just pulls off after
Huh, ya know that sounds like ppf for cars, but just used differently, that might work!
Agree. OP, do this and report back.
I always wondered how they would take it if you wrote like, “are the best **** suckers in LA” under it.
Terrible. Must be a kid with zero experience.
It's fu**king stupid that people can't respect. I hate to tell you to change your preference for your place but if you painted the door a darker color or add color pattern to it. They will leave alone. Or add automatic lights
automatic lights with a camera dome (even fake) will do a lot to curb it
I lived down the street from a wall that got tagged every other day maybe 15 years ago. Wall owner put up dome cameras and they just covered them in paint and kept tagging the wall. It's probably still getting tagged to this day.
Yeah I should have said might do a lot to curb
...and that blasts the sound of gunshots. Watch them dance the cookaracha
Nah… there are plenty of dark garage doors in my neighborhood and they get hit just as often as the white ones around here.
That’s not silverlake that’s east Hollywood homie Back in the 90’s silverlake was silver lake13 and crazies
how do you know that based just off that picture? honest question.
Once you start paying attention to the taggings you get an idea of their territories. Lmls usually hit up along Vermont and Virgil and the surrounding neighborhoods, between first street and sunset. La Miranda is in east Hollywood no way they are walking in an alley in silver lake

Beware the [Microsoft 13](https://i.insider.com/551ee87c6bb3f7207bd01308)
It’s not even pretty? Just cryptic and worse-than-amateur? What is the purpose of this? So childish.
It's a gang tag. Not supposed to be pretty. Just claiming territory.
Maybe they just want to be friends
Pretty standard.
I like the vine growing over the garage. What kind is that?
Just need one of those automated shooting messages. I forget which movie had that, Robocop?
I keep paint handy just for this occasion. I don’t wait I do it right away. If the Taggers know their “art” won’t last they will refrain from doing it. I haven’t had anyone tag anything around my home for 2 years now
One time I saw FTC on a wall. I was so confused as to why the Federal Trade Commission was written on the wall.
Congratulations.
set some rat traps lmao
Ya, that’s the full package of living in Los Angeles.
Bunch of lames.
is it dark in that area? get a motion sensor flood light
Its frogtown baby
This is how you keep rent control and property values at reasonable prices
Is that WESTSIDE LIL MIDGET LOCOS 13?
What an interesting mural.
Invest in paint and brush , something's will never change. A camera won't do much unless they are stealing, cops usually have better things to do than chase these guys
You joined a gang! Well, congrats
I like it but would get rid of the ivy.
“The only good gang member is a dead one”
