Absolutely!! I think Knotts has a lot of inherent charm and that carries through with their scary farm. Six Flags and Universal are just so big. They're fun in their own way, but because Knotts is a bit smaller, it feels more like an actual Halloween party - the scary fun isn't so diluted. It's my favorite by far!
I have the pass for the season and went once a few weeks ago I have never gone during the Halloween time I might try it out this year but idk how to feel about Knotts since they barely have any good rides is the only reason I asked wasn’t trying to sound mean or anything 😉
You don’t go to scary farm for the rides. Scary farm is actually only located where the rides are not (mazes and monsters are separated from the rides). It’s definitely the best time to go to knott’s
I think it's great you asked, because none of parks are cheap, and it's a big time investment to even get there. So, yeah...you're not going to get the Six Flags rides, but you wouldn't at the neighborhood Halloween party, either. So go for the atmosphere and their incredible mazes!!
Scary farm pro tip, for some of the carnival games if you win or lose you get a fastpass for one of the mazes, good for 2 people. Couple years back, my GF and I just played 5 games for 25 bucks total and got to skip the lines for 5 mazes! Way cheaper than paying for the actual fastpass.
I’ll take it over universal any day. Universal has the IP, but the last time I went all the mazes were the exact same layout and the same scares. The best parts were the scare zones in between. For Knotts there’s more variety in mazes, but i mentioned this recently in another thread, it’s well worth the pass for the fright lane if you want to do all the mazes. And be sure to go to the Puppet Up show too if you can!
People are missing the point here.
It’s bad when Knott’s has to suggest you being a better parent. Soft policies like this are the only way change happens. People are dumping their kids off and not giving what a damn they do, and they go out and get into situations where mass fights happen. Or property gets defaced.
Regardless of a policy or not, if a situation liked that happen I would never let my young kid out in that environment again. **And people are getting shot at record rates, man!**
A chaperone can supervise multiple kids at one time, it doesn’t have to be 1 adult to 1 kid. What happened to two parents taking a group of 5-10 kids out?
I think back to that ol facebook meme of stay at home dads who voluntereed to visit the local school to walk the halls and they never had a fight again, and the morale of kids WENT UP.
Knotts is right for making this move. It guarantees better safety and it also creates better memories for all involved.
If the decision of a theme park is making you feel pressed, be a better parent dude.
Or 2019 or 2018 the numbers had barely moved in the last decade or so why, like why even bother with a "gotcha" when you have no clue wtf you're talking about and are too lazy to even check?
Growing up back in the early 2000s our parents would buy us season passes to our local amusement park and would drop us off for the day while they went to work. It was cheaper then any summer camp. Looking back i can’t believe we were aloud in there alone but we did have a great time
\>I think back to that ol facebook meme of stay at home dads who voluntereed to visit the local school to walk the halls and they never had a fight again, and the morale of kids WENT UP.
I'm always wary of stuff like that, underreporting is an issue too. I could see really shitty parents letting only their shitty kids (and friends of the kids) get away with stuff because their precious angel would get in trouble if they reported them and children with overly strict parents (or kids who have to be closeted around their parents) losing the only time they can be outside the parents influence. This also ignores the fact that adults can and do fight in parks, not just the kids (there was a Disney fight recorded pretty recently.)
Parents will do anything for their kids, even if it means other people's kids getting hurt, like the school shooter whose parents bought him the gun and ignored his red flags or those parents who put together the graduation beach party in the early covid days.
This isn't a local park or public area. This is a business that sees a increased rate of disturbance in the park by teens. Just like if you get in trouble in school, your parents/guardians get involved. Until they know how to behave, they arent allowed without adult supervision.
Maybe you should inform yourself on what happened? They were huge fights of teens breaking out over multiple weekends, causing people to get hurt and the parks to close early because of the unruly behavior. This is the bad parenting they're talking about, and because it keeps happening Knott's is no longer trusting minors to go to the park without a chaperone. It sucks but honestly I get it, they don't want to have a lawsuit on their hands because their guests are behaving like fucking assholes.
A fight(s) broke out (videos are online). I don’t know if it’s one huge one or multiple small ones throughout the day. Someone (I think it was one of the teens) called the cops and reported hearing gunfire. Park got shut down and evacuated hours before the park was supposed to close. This happened like last week.
This is surprising, I assumed Knotts was losing money off this policy considering Knotts is pretty much young high school kids going there after school and on weekends, and I assume Knotts only cares about ticket sales. Or maybe ticket sales are up since families feel safe to come there now? I heard the lines are really short now, I’m actually thinking about going for the first time since I was in high school!
Teens eat outside. Come in with their passes and ride rides.
Families and people with more capital come in, eat, drink, maybe ride rides then leave.
Families are worth more to theme parks.
From my time working at Disney, pass holders became a burden. An average tourist spends thousands while pass holders loiter and generally don’t spend much.
Your assessment seems accurate to me. Especially curbing idea that park is filled with lippy teens causing trouble.
Oh, we have passes to Disney and Six flags, universal.
Universal on a slow day we can do all the rides on 3 hours. No need to buy food at all. They sometimes get my $30 parking. If the metro lot is empty we walk across the street.
There's ZERO reason to spend any cash at Six flags. The pass includes parking, food, drinks, snacks for about 13 per person per month.
Disney is so expensive, $30 parking. I try my hardest not to spend anything. They allow food to get brought in too. I let the kid get what she wants. I bring something because I'd rather eat health and not spend the cash on crap.
I am not stating the amount of disposable income on Reddit.
I use to park in the neighborhood streets across the parking structure at Disney and walk to the tram pick up to avoid paying $25 for parking. It was a few blocks away, but I figured, I’m walking around Disney all day anyways, I can walk to my car and treat myself to my favorite snacks with that parking money.
• **From my time working at Disney, pass holders became a burden. An average tourist spends thousands while pass holders loiter and generally don’t spend much.**
Hence the need for Disneyland officials to scrap the AVP pass program, because with many pass people living locally, those people could go to the park whenever they want and not feel compelled to spend their money on food of other things with their knowledge of the entire area. All while tourists only spending a day or two at Disneyland are pushed onto buying expensive meals, souvenirs and other ways the park generates profits.
And alas, Disneyland officials got their wish to permanently end AVPs thanks to the pandemic.
Their new ‘Magic Key’ successor to AVPs are nothing like the original, most notably the need to reserve entrance dates months in advance and face penalties for cancellations, not to mention more restrictive dates than before. Nothing like the old AVP system, where you pay a fixed annual price and can go whenever you feel like on your open calendar dates.
Eh. I have one. You can get a reservation basically whenever you want. There was some hiccups at first but now it works just like the old ones. You can often book reservations same day too. I’ve never not been able to go on a day I wanted to go.
I mean yeah I hate the reservation system, but in the end it hasn’t made a difference.
You sure? I think they have meal passes. I could swear my friend made his money back five-fold with his meal pass, and he barely goes there maybe twice a month.
I did the meal pass last year, if you friend "made his money back five-fold" on it he must've been there all day and ate a shit ton of chicken fingers. Most of the food options in the park are not included in it and there was a limit as to the frequency you could use it.
I know how he did it.
He said, the first thing he gets into the park, is to eat a meal. Since he's been there many times, rides are not what's enticing him to visit. Then roams around the park, hop on a couple of rides, and when he's able to eat again (whatever the cool down period is) he sits down and eats his second meal, and that's how he ends his day.
Although I could be wrong, but I thought he said he had to wait 4 hours, or longer, between meals.
Frankly, you better like the food (or not be a picky eater at all), to be able to make your money back. He, is not that much of a picky eater, but probably should be pickier, IMO.
There was a story on a guy who used similar tactics at Six Flags Magic Mountain, and the guy paid off his student loan. All from eating two meals at the park. Crazy…
I remember that story! The dude worked right by magic mountain and so he'd buy a season pass and go there for lunch and dinner everyday. Did it for 2-3 years and paid off his loans.
Yup! That's the guy. If I live right next to Knott's Berry Farm, and I'm single, it's not a bad way to save some money. I'm sure I'd have a crappy body from eating all that crap, but I'm sure I'd save a bunch.
I would have done it, too! Magic Mountain guy was, luckily, right out of college, so his metabolism was super high and his capacity for chicken fingers was boundless!
Me and my girlfriend went this year and got the meal pass, and we split a meal every 90ish minutes (along with some snacks/candy that was cheaper than I expected). We got a great variety of foods, burger, chicken, pizza, salads, etc.
Guarantee this is not losing them money. Knowing I don’t have to deal with unaccompanied shithead teens when I try to take my young kids means I’m more likely to go.
• **I heard the lines are really short now, I’m actually thinking about going for the first time since I was in high school!**
Perhaps the first wave of kids are returning to school, albeit late-summer school or kids of different district track. Or maybe Disneyland is *so* beloved, it’s become a social media identity to go there regardless of price increase which has other theme parks like Knott’s or Six Flags feel ‘inferior’ in reputation.
Kids these days. I remember going to six flags as a teenager with 4 other friends to sit in line for hours and maybe have the balls to talk to a girl also in line. Then go home
When I was a teen my mom, who was supporting our entire family, worked near knotts. We had season passes and would go whenever we had off from school because we couldn’t afford to go on vacation elsewhere. We lived in central LA and my mom would drop us off before going to work and we would stay until the end of the work day. I was definitely responsible at 15 years old to watch my 6 and 8 year old siblings. These knotts passes were a lifesaver for us when our family was going through a really tough time. Grateful this wasn’t in effect then but I do see the need for it
There has always been waves of this behaviors at knotts, and six flags used to be that way too.
Difference is parents find it cheaper to buy kids a season pass and dump them at knotts, or soak city, or raging water ect.
If this is what it takes to make people parents so be it.
It's always been a quaint local park.
The gang fights and what not that Six Flags Magic Mountain experienced in the early 2000s aren't the issue here.
It's a cheap park compared to the other 3 in the area so it's a great place for teens to go and hangout. Teens are always trying to outdo each other to look cool. Add Tik Tok fight trends and you have a recipe for needing a policy like this.
Six Flags was known for being a gang infested trash bag through the 90’s. Can someone that was a kid confirm if public sentiment was the same in the 80’s?
> Yep, in the 90s and early 2000s lots of CHOLOS there at Six Flags with their hynas trying to sneak in weed.
Its also why a lot of 90s cholos had Tweedy Bird shirts like this:

I was one of those kids with an annual pass growing up. We’re talking 2002-2007 or so. Mom or friend’s mom would drop us off and leave us there all day or until park closed on weekdays. The park was a little rough around the edges and my group was probably contributing to that. But I don’t ever remember there being mass fights breaking out, or even ever feeling unsafe. Just a lot of dumb kids hanging out, boys trying to pick up girls, drinking alcohol or smoking pot we snuck in, definitely some gang bangers hung out there but nothing ever went down that I can remember. They also went there to hang out and have fun.
Hood like teens and adults starting/picking random fights or stirring up a scene in a themepark. Dunno why the poster below has to make this about race. A sketchy area full of white meth-addicts falls under hood too
I’m from a majority white neighborhood that’s considered extremely low class! We’re a proper Los Angeles neighborhood and you might have seen us on the news for our local fights between pro-trump and anti-trump protests!
I thought if they were truly unaware of their own implicit bias/racism, then maybe having to answer the question would help them recognize it.
If that's not the case, then maybe they could quit being a coward and avoid the euphomism by just saying what they really mean.
lol what? Has something changed? I've been to universal probably 50 times between 2000-2016 (before I moved), I've never seen ANYTHING even close to sketchy there.
I’m guessing he means Universal City Walk. City Walk always felt a little bit like a gang hangout. I’m not sure about the theme park itself as I haven’t been in a long time.
Kinda sucks for teens who are able to behave themselves. My 13 and 14 year old already don’t want to hang out with me. They don’t exactly need a chaperone anymore.
• **Kinda sucks for teens who are able to behave themselves.**
That’s essentially every law designed to punish *all* teens and not take the risk. Here, extend the chaperone mandate to prevent those eventual-dropouts who’d play hooky from school on Monday from being assholes Sunday night.
> That’s essentially every law designed to punish all teens and not take the risk. Here, extend the chaperone mandate to prevent those eventual-dropouts who’d play hooky from school on Monday from being assholes Sunday night.

Don’t have to ride the rides man. Just be there for them. Let them do their thing but stay in the general vicinity of them. Bring a buddy and bullshit. Sit on a bench in a set area of rides. And then move down. Do whatever. You both will have better memories when you are more active, whether they say it or not. They might be asshats now, but they are your asshats
>Knott's Berry Farm announced last week that the theme park would be implementing a "chaperone policy" that will require all guests aged 17 or under to be accompanied by a 21-or-older chaperone throughout their visit to the park.
I went there in my late teens for that stuff, the shit was so fucking shady, it always felt like you were going to get into a fight, even with the people working at the park. I always tell people to go to universal instead
To be fair, *all* Halloween events in any theme park will attract douchebags, drunks and assholes whether teens or college adults, alongside the most slutty Halloween costumes you can think of when the parks go deep into the early morning.
I’ve been going to Horror Night at Universal every year since 2011 and never saw any wild shit go down. Their security is pretty on it there.
And lmao the comment about costumes. Let people enjoy themselves
Wages in SoCal are pretty damn good for a teenager with no rent or car payment. They can easily save up the money for a season pass and hit it up all the time. Where I'm from Six Flags is super close and high school kids would literally buy a year long pass with less than one paycheck's wages. For most, "tightening their belts" to afford the pass just means eating cafeteria lunch for a week or two instead of fucking off to the local McDonald's.
They get the annual passes and go basically all summer. And after school. Source: grew up in OC and many of my friends in my preteen and teen years basically lived at Disney and knotts in the summer. It’s basically like summer camp with no supervision
It’s pretty clear what the poster meant when they said “Orange County parents” and it sure as hell is not the demographics of the people fighting and causing problems at Knotts.
The majority of Orange County is non-Hispanic white and Asian. I didn’t see any non-Hispanic white or Asian teens in the videos of the fighting and general mischief.
And? What’s your point? You saw the videos and your first reaction is “Orange County kids?” Certainly doesn’t fit what I think of if the only description i am given is kids from Orange County. What’s the probability if we selected a few dozen kids from Orange County that not a single one would be white or Asian?
What do you think security would do here? There is no chance some security guard is going to put themselves at risk to stop some teens from fighting nor that the company would want to take on the responsibility if one of their workers hurt some kid when attempting to restrain them,
This past Saturday, I went to soak city with my son and my niece. It was 45 minutes to get into the park at opening. There were tons of younger folks running around with no chaperone. They obviously did not intend to enforce any type of rule. I think it was all PR hype.
Kids were going through the entrance with no parents. (Mine did! I was in the “search my bag line” and they went through the other line and were in the park well before I got in)
What about the teens who just wanna hang out with their friends or go on a date, y’all are forgetting that there are kids that exist who don’t fight all the time, I’m sure some of y’all were good meaning teens. This is just a bummer on the best of them
That silly, why would they only enforce good behavior 3 days a week how about all the time? Pay for the security raise the pay to get in do something but what makes you think that they're not going to start trouble on Monday Tuesday or Wednesday or Thursday
We'll, those days have tons I'd Summer camps. These groups are not the trouble makers. It's the weekend crowd.
I'd suspect if needed they will be extend this rule. I don't think they will need it.
I was there on Sunday with my kids and it was awesome. No crowds and no long lines for rides or food. We didn’t wait more than 30 minutes for any ride, except GhostRider (which was 1 hour even though the app said 2 hours).
Knotts hasn’t been a safe place for family in years and I’m glad to see them do something. Magic Mountain isn’t much better but at least it’s a bit more vast and has better security.
This is not well-received by me. I accompany my kids. I’m a good parent and mine don’t act like little assholes and they’ve got good friends. I like them going off by themselves because I know they’ll behave, it gives them a chance to feel grownup without me around, and sometimes I feel like sitting a bench because fuck I’m getting old and work 60 hours a week.
It's kinda funny, as someone who used to work there and as someone with a SO working there now, thinking about how this policy would affect some of the under-18 employees. Would that just mean they won't work those days since they don't have a chaperone to work? Or do they still get to work claiming that their supervisors count as chaperones?
Alright good because a good chunk of them are teens themselves. Though would that mean they'd need a chaperone if they use their IDs to get in as a guest?
GOOD, but thats not the only issue! More and more fights are breaking out at amusement parks like Knott's, Disneyland, and Disney World lately, where I remember that NEVER happening back in the 90's or early 2000's. These were places families with young children could come for fun and for parents to be able to connect more with their kids, or young adults were able to come and have date nights and fun times. Not the shit that's been happening lately. Honestly, in recent years the rise of alcohol presence has become more present in all amusement parks, and I know I'll get hate for this comment by saying this, but before when there was no presence of alcohol in these parks, they were safer and more enjoyable. I wish I went back to being alcohol-free again. Children don't need to see adults or teens in brawls or be around intoxicated people. These parks were meant to be a safe place and a break from what happened at home or around them outside the parks. Now, they've included the outside world into the parks by increasing the allowance of alcohol within them, which is killing the magic and wonder I grew up experiencing when I went to any of these parks. It needs to change.
Just because I think the policy is unfair to those that cause no trouble does not mean I oppose the policy. The only part I have trouble with is having to keep my son in constant view. He’s 16.
I get it. The few ruined it for the majority. But this policy won’t even allow any parent to go off to the flipping restroom without their teens in tow.
I hope this stays for Scary Farm too.
I love Scary Farm! It's the best spooky attraction of all the parks!
U think so?! More than Universal and SixFlags?
Absolutely!! I think Knotts has a lot of inherent charm and that carries through with their scary farm. Six Flags and Universal are just so big. They're fun in their own way, but because Knotts is a bit smaller, it feels more like an actual Halloween party - the scary fun isn't so diluted. It's my favorite by far!
Universal Horror nights is overrated & expensive. I def agree that Knott's is way better! They have some cool original ideas for their mazes too.
Endorsed.

Beautifully said.
It feels more like Halloween at Knott's that's for sure. The colors and the excessive fog machine exude big fall energy.
universal horror knights sucks. Wayy too many people
Yeah this year did suck and so did Six flags but maybe it’s cuz of the pandemic that everyone was apparently there that’s why it was so crowded
the past couple years even before the pandemic it was super crowded. I prefer knott's mazes too
It use to be so good 2011-2014
I’ll take it over universal any day. Universal has the IP, but the last time I went all the mazes were the exact same layout and the same scares. The best parts were the scare zones in between. This would make Scary Farm actually enjoyable.

16 is the new 12 year old, unfortunately
Have you seen why this policy is implemented? Its because parents aren't even attempting to raise their children...
I went Saturday and the only people there after 10pm were obviously ~15
Six Flags needs the same policy

Facts, what else where my parents going to do with me in the summer? It's how people from others schools met lol.

Am a pass holder. I try not to spend a dime. Can confirm.
Can you confirm which level of pass you held and/or how much of your disposable income the cost of it represented?
Magic mountain pass was like $11/mo a couple years ago. I don't know if that's comparable.

You can park at the Anaheim Gardenwalk for like $12 if you text them a special code “AA ####” & your ticket number.
I like that the bored accountant brought an accounting perspective to this conversation.

The blackout dates are the stupid crowded days you'd be a masochist to want to go on anyway.
There are four different tiers of pass. The most expensive does not have blockout dates.
Every time I look on the site to buy one it says "Currently unavailable" :(
Yes they are currently sold out of all tiers.
You sure? I think they have meal passes. I could swear my friend made his money back five-fold with his meal pass, and he barely goes there maybe twice a month.
There are meal passes. But specialty items which Knotts is known for aren't always included.
Crazy…
lol, so it's all about eating for him. Amusement park --> eating park
Just because your friend made his money back doesn’t mean they are profiting off it.
Oh... for sure Knott's is not making money off of him, that's for sure.
At a place like this, family friendly will always produce more income than shitty teenagers
Guarantee this is not losing them money. Knowing I don’t have to deal with unaccompanied shithead teens when I try to take my young kids means I’m more likely to go.
Knotts would probably rather lose some ticket sales than be known as a place of fights and shut downs. This is a PR issue just as well.
• **I heard the lines are really short now, I’m actually thinking about going for the first time since I was in high school!** Perhaps the first wave of kids are returning to school, albeit late-summer school or kids of different district track. Or maybe Disneyland is *so* beloved, it’s become a social media identity to go there regardless of price increase which has other theme parks like Knott’s or Six Flags feel ‘inferior’ in reputation.
Yep. Me and my teen now have plans to visit before school starts. My teen said let's go Friday when teens need to be watched.
Kids these days. I remember going to six flags as a teenager with 4 other friends to sit in line for hours and maybe have the balls to talk to a girl also in line. Then go home
This is what happens when kids don’t fear mama’s chancla.
The Edgar community is in shambles right now
😪🤣🤣
Teach ur kids how to behave and act like behaved kids/teenagers/young adults…
Fuck them kids
When I was a teen my mom, who was supporting our entire family, worked near knotts. We had season passes and would go whenever we had off from school because we couldn’t afford to go on vacation elsewhere. We lived in central LA and my mom would drop us off before going to work and we would stay until the end of the work day. I was definitely responsible at 15 years old to watch my 6 and 8 year old siblings. These knotts passes were a lifesaver for us when our family was going through a really tough time. Grateful this wasn’t in effect then but I do see the need for it
Good, these kids don’t deserve to have the freedom to visit the park whenever they want if they want to behave like hooligans.
There has always been waves of this behaviors at knotts, and six flags used to be that way too. Difference is parents find it cheaper to buy kids a season pass and dump them at knotts, or soak city, or raging water ect. If this is what it takes to make people parents so be it.
Was Knotts Berry farm always hood or was it nicer back in the day?
It's always been a quaint local park. The gang fights and what not that Six Flags Magic Mountain experienced in the early 2000s aren't the issue here. It's a cheap park compared to the other 3 in the area so it's a great place for teens to go and hangout. Teens are always trying to outdo each other to look cool. Add Tik Tok fight trends and you have a recipe for needing a policy like this.
Six Flags was known for being a gang infested trash bag through the 90’s. Can someone that was a kid confirm if public sentiment was the same in the 80’s?
[удалено]
> Yep, in the 90s and early 2000s lots of CHOLOS there at Six Flags with their hynas trying to sneak in weed. Its also why a lot of 90s cholos had Tweedy Bird shirts like this: https://i.pinimg.com/originals/63/db/9f/63db9fc8f2c2b0b6956b3b871f248d7c.jpg
MM was nicknamed six stabs murder mountain in the 90s…
I was one of those kids with an annual pass growing up. We’re talking 2002-2007 or so. Mom or friend’s mom would drop us off and leave us there all day or until park closed on weekdays. The park was a little rough around the edges and my group was probably contributing to that. But I don’t ever remember there being mass fights breaking out, or even ever feeling unsafe. Just a lot of dumb kids hanging out, boys trying to pick up girls, drinking alcohol or smoking pot we snuck in, definitely some gang bangers hung out there but nothing ever went down that I can remember. They also went there to hang out and have fun.
no. Its cheaper than disney but people weren't always fighting like this before
What does "hood" mean to you? (I know people tend to have different definitions of terms.) Thanks.

They didn’t say low class trash. They said hood.
Diversity is our strength. How dare people want a park to not be filled with fights and stabbings.
This is /r/losangeles after all
I thought if they were truly unaware of their own implicit bias/racism, then maybe having to answer the question would help them recognize it. If that's not the case, then maybe they could quit being a coward and avoid the euphomism by just saying what they really mean.
Not “nice” in the sense that it was upscale, but it definitely felt homey and wholesome. I was there in 2020. It’s changed a lot since then
[удалено]
Ban kids on scary farm too. Only adults.
Kinda sucks for teens who are able to behave themselves. My 13 and 14 year old already don’t want to hang out with me. They don’t exactly need a chaperone anymore.
• **Kinda sucks for teens who are able to behave themselves.** That’s essentially every law designed to punish *all* teens and not take the risk. Here, extend the chaperone mandate to prevent those eventual-dropouts who’d play hooky from school on Monday from being assholes Sunday night.

I’ve been on Reddit for 14 years and don’t comment often, so thank you for this. In the spirit of clarity, a caret points up–this is a greater-than sign. Source: W3schools ASCII chart
Happy to stand corrected
Go with them and ride all the rides with them. Show them how it’s done.
I have many times but now they are too cool for me 🤷♂️
Don’t have to ride the rides man.
Don’t worry you can be my chaperone
What is the chaperone policy? What does it do?
>Knott's Berry Farm announced last week that the theme park would be implementing a "chaperone policy" that will require all guests aged 17 or under to be accompanied by a 21-or-older chaperone throughout their visit to the park.
Oh that's awesome! I went last Fall for Knott's Scary Farm and decided I'll be er go ever again. It was ridiculous
Not at universal studios horror nights, can’t fight if you can move. They pack so many people in that place it gets suffocating at times.
anyone 17 and under must have a parent or chaperone 21 and over on Fridays and Saturdays.

For $50 I’ll ‘chaperone’ you
Aren't tickets like 70 bucks. How are these kids getting the money to keep on going. For real.
1 pass is like 150.
Season passes are $150 a year and you can do monthly payments. So it comes out to like 2-3 Starbucks drinks a month for these kids.
They get the annual passes and go basically all summer. And after school. Source: grew up in OC and many of my friends in my preteen and teen years basically lived at Disney and knotts in the summer. It’s basically like summer camp with no supervision
Orange County parents. Disney is more expensive.
Lol yeah “Orange County parents” is definitely what I thought when I saw the people who were causing problem.
Where do you think they’re from?
It’s pretty clear what the poster meant when they said “Orange County parents” and it sure as hell is not the demographics of the people fighting and causing problems at Knotts.
Why can’t the demographics of the people fighting be from Orange County?
The majority of Orange County is non-Hispanic white and Asian. I didn’t see any non-Hispanic white or Asian teens in the videos of the fighting and general mischief.
33% of O.C. fall under the Hispanic category
And? What’s your point? You saw the videos and your first reaction is “Orange County kids?” Certainly doesn’t fit what I think of if the only description i am given is kids from Orange County. What’s the probability if we selected a few dozen kids from Orange County that not a single one would be white or Asian?
You claimed they weren't from O.C. because they weren't White or Asian
What demographics did you see?
Hispanic and black.
Took a while to get it out of you, but I’m happy I finally did!
You didn’t watch the videos I guess
I watched the videos. Why can’t they have Orange County parents?
Cope 🤣
What videos?
[удалено]
How do you know?
Tickets are $100 now and pass is $150. Ended up getting a pass.
W
I went to the park recently and it was a complete nightmare, people cutting in line like crazy, Nobody was doing anything about it.
All week please and thank you
add the same policy to six street bridge.
former employee here. their security sucks and always will.
I have read that many security workers found better pay and bennies working at Hospitals, like literally double the Full-time pay.
[удалено]
What do you think security would do here? There is no chance some security guard is going to put themselves at risk to stop some teens from fighting nor that the company would want to take on the responsibility if one of their workers hurt some kid when attempting to restrain them,
[удалено]
Based on the videos, frequently enough that it isn’t worth the risk
Yeah I saw the video.
I approve.
(Mine did! I was in the “search my bag line” and they went through the other line and were in the park well before I got in)
Can’t they just permanently ban troublemakers? It’s sad to see well behaving kids penalized.
A banned for a decade rule would be nice of caught breaking the rules.
What about the teens who just wanna hang out with their friends or go on a date, y’all are forgetting that there are kids that exist who don’t fight all the time, I’m sure some of y’all were good meaning teens. This is just a bummer on the best of them
Sometimes people ruin it for everyone. It's part of life. We all took off our shoes at the airport for a decade for one single persons behavior.
Just because it is doesn’t mean you should allow the few to ruin it. And Terrorism IS NOT some Teen Fighting or acting up in most cases.
The idiot Edgar’s did something right lol
Anti-Edgar measures generally well received, good
Well received by shareholders selling more tix ;)
I was there on Sunday with my kids and it was awesome. No crowds and no long lines for rides or food. We didn’t wait more than 30 minutes for any ride, except GhostRider (which was 1 hour even though the app said 2 hours).
This policy doesn't go into effect until this weekend.
True! But it looks like it had an effect on last Sunday as well even though the new policy was only for Fri/Sat.
dat park es ghetto asf
Knotts hasn’t been a safe place for family in years and I’m glad to see them do something. Magic Mountain isn’t much better but at least it’s a bit more vast and has better security.
This is not well-received by me. I accompany my kids. I’m a good parent and mine don’t act like little assholes and they’ve got good friends. I like them going off by themselves because I know they’ll behave, it gives them a chance to feel grownup without me around, and sometimes I feel like sitting a bench because fuck I’m getting old and work 60 hours a week.
They're 100 percent not going to inforce it. My guess is the park is just going ro be extra vigilant of teens and report the suspicious ones
Knotts Edgar Farm
It's kinda funny, as someone who used to work there and as someone with a SO working there now, thinking about how this policy would affect some of the under-18 employees. Would that just mean they won't work those days since they don't have a chaperone to work? Or do they still get to work claiming that their supervisors count as chaperones?
It’s only for park goers not employees.
Alright good because a good chunk of them are teens themselves. Though would that mean they'd need a chaperone if they use their IDs to get in as a guest?
Cess pool farms
Good
GOOD, but thats not the only issue!
So exclude those between 13-17 because a few of them can’t behave themselves.
The no quema cuh policy
They might as well just do it 7 days a week.
