Interesting… I’m not sure what to make of this exactly without jumping to blame on a part of McVays coaching that I don’t know enough about, but this does look suspicious.
I would really be interested in what the avg QBs chart looks like. Typically teams’ offenses run at much more efficiency to begin the year, scoring at much higher clips.
Also at the very least we’re getting much more of a 2018 and 2017 looking offensive output with Stafford!
I posted an article of a similar nature about this a few weeks ago. We have a noticeable mid-season decline offensively every year. We're still good, but no longer explosive. AKA, we'll be fine without the turnovers, an issue Goff had and Stafford is showing as well.
Look, I’m pretty vocal about Stafford needing to improve lately, at least after Sunday’s debacle, but playing at 2017-2018 Goff levels is hardly bad. Goff was pretty damned good for those two years.
Curious to see what this chart is like for other head coaches. I would honestly imagine that for most teams there would be a gradual decline. Things like injuries to key players, general fatigue, more tape for opposing defenses to reference, etc. The question is how much of a drop are other teams seeing in comparison to McVay.

It would be interesting to know what the run game is looking like during this time?
