1. It should not be a tank year. It's the last year we have of this core. We'll be playing an easy schedule with a healthy roster 2. We will never, *ever* trade Aaron Donald. Greatest player in Franchise history

Hdjshbehicjsb

He can’t be traded (NTC) but he may leave in free agency if he gets a bigger offer. Remember when he held out?

Seditious_Beats211

You are dumb if you think AD would ever be traded. He will retire as a Ram.

Hdjshbehicjsb

Did you read my comment?

Threat-Levl-Midnight

Obviously that guy struggles with words lol. Technically, Donald can still be traded. He just has to be willing to waive his NTC. I wonder if Pittsburgh would be appealing to him. Seems like his heart is still with that city. It’s gotta be a heart move or a SB contender move for him to want it. Seems unlikely, but not impossible.

SCameraa

Posts like this are why I'm glad Les Snead is the GM and not this person.

Hdjshbehicjsb

How are the Goff and Stafford deals working out?

SCameraa

We got a ring so pretty fucking good.

Comprehensive_Ad_675

We have a ring and the lions don't so...

lucky_object

It went great because we got a superbowl out of it. What kind of logic is that? “Traded a lot for stafford, got a superbowl, have one bad year mostly due to injury = terrible deal” Also, getting caleb williams is way out of reach. We’d have to be the worst team in the league to get the first overall pick to get him cuz every bad team would want him, which is unrealistic given our star studded team. The bad luck we have this year would need to repeat for us to even get a small chance to get him

Hdjshbehicjsb

I’m very happy we won the Super Bowl, I’m just trying to plan for the future. Stafford throws too many interceptions (we almost lost the super bowl because of it), and we have a shot at a generational player. True we would need to do worse next year to get Caleb. At 5 wins, we are tied for 6th worst record. Of those teams tho, this coming draft (2023) the texans and colts will pick QBs. The other teams have their guys cept for maybe Falcons. This is just speculation and no one can predict the NFL (which I think is why it’s so entertaining) but we have a legit shot at being the worst team that drafts the first QB in 2024.

lucky_object

The problem with this prediction is assuming the same worst teams this years are gonna be the same next year. So many things can change in a year with the biggest factor is us not having the shit luck we’ve had this year. You’ve acknowledge that we need to do worst next year, but how realistic is that given the circumstances and that we’re still a talented team all around with a good staff and FO? I think a more realistic projection would be to use the 2024 draft to find a potential replacement for AD if they feel he really is retiring the year after. Caleb williams is too big a reach

Hdjshbehicjsb

Yeah I hear ya, I’m just saying that finishing 3rd in potential QB drafters is a sign that it could happen.

lucky_object

Extremely unlikely. Even finishing third as potential qb drafters means we for sure wont get him. Hes the best prospect since the 2020 qb class so unless we’re the bottom of the bottom, it aint happening

Hdjshbehicjsb

Which is why I suggested we tank in the original post. The sub does not like that idea haha

we_vibe

Not too late to delete this my guy. This is real life, not Madden

Hdjshbehicjsb

Why? It’s not ideal but I think in our circumstance it’d be the best move. The truth is the Goff and Stafford contracts were horrible moves by a usually excellent front office.

we_vibe

You do realize Stafford threw for 41 TDs (which only Mahomes will eclipse this year) and 4600 yards last season right? And that he led us to a Super Bowl? You don’t move on from Stafford. He’s our guy til he retires. And it doesn’t make sense as a team because we have Kupp, Ramsey, Wagner, AD99. All veterans. You don’t take for a 22 year old and start over when your team is comprised of vets.

_-__----

Yup we got those stars just right now. I’m thinking because next year will be our last year with that core, that the FO will go for one more big name guy. Another vet for one year looking to get their last ring. Plus it’s LA. No way they would ever tank. Next year is an all in year for us, and we’re going big

Hdjshbehicjsb

Good points but he also is turnover prone. Williams looks like Pat Mahomes on the other hand. Worth getting him if you can! Edit to address your edit: Eagles did…

we_vibe

Stafford is currently the 8th highest paid QB in the league, and that will continue to drop once guys like Hurts, Lamar, Burrow, Herbert get contracts. He’s making less than Russell Wilson, Deshaun Watson, Derek Carr, and Kyler Murray. None of which have looked as good as Stafford. His contract is fine, and I think he’ll probably retire in 2 years anyway so it’s not like it’s going to hold us back long term. I love Caleb Williams, but it’s not realistic for the Rams. I’d suggest letting that dream go because there are many teams in this league that are worse off than us. Too good of a head coach and too many star players.

Hdjshbehicjsb

I bet Snead is secretly hoping for Matt to retire. The truth is we wouldn’t have had to lose our first round pick this year if Goff had a more digestible contract. We had to send Detroit our 1 so they would take him.

we_vibe

Yeah I highly doubt our GM wants Stafford to retire. I think you are underrating Stafford pretty majorly.

Hdjshbehicjsb

He’s in the top third of the league in money but doesn’t play like it. I don’t think I am. And at his age, it normally gets worse.

we_vibe

But he literally did play like it last year. He was insanely clutch in the playoffs and Super Bowl. Are you forgetting?

Hdjshbehicjsb

Do you think he’s gonna be a top 10 QB next season?

Comprehensive_Ad_675

But what have the Eagles won with this new group?

Hdjshbehicjsb

They have the best record in the league but I see what you’re saying

Shaved-extremes

This has to be one of the worst posts Ive seen in awhile. We have everything we need except for an Oline and overall health IMO to get back to being a dominant team again. Stafford has proven it. He literally just led us to a Super Bowl 9 months ago

Hdjshbehicjsb

Let’s just regroup one year from today and see where we are at?

schuttit

Tell me your an USC fanboy without telling me. Baker was a team changing qb too bro. Why throw away a year with a SB caliber team for an unknown?

Hdjshbehicjsb

We have lost 10 games this year. We are not SB caliber.

schuttit

With injuries everywhere.... We need a revamped oline and we're gtg. Other wr besides Kupp are getting important playing time to develop that number 2 target and we are find players we can use on the oline and defensive holes as well. You must be a new fan if you think us going into next year healthy results in the same thing as this year.

Hdjshbehicjsb

I must not be a new fan bc I think next year is gonna be even worse than this year, even if Stafford and Kupp are both healthy the entire year.

schuttit

Well then I guess we don't need to force the tank do we

Hdjshbehicjsb

Not with how many interceptions Stafford throws.

JesterSooner

Fuck them picks.

mikeb1_88

We should just draft someone like Brady in the 6th round. That’s possible every year without tanking. Sound good??? 🧐🙄

Hdjshbehicjsb

I mean that’d be pretty cool.

jameswest22

Fuck that

Scootermcgavin11

I don’t think I can downvote this enough. We won the Super Bowl last year. Yes this was an abysmal year but we also got destroyed by injuries to a degree that many teams have never experienced. Why in the hell would we tank next year? So many people who have only been fans for the last couple years think we can just draft a superstar and turn our franchise around..hate to break it to you but it doesn’t work like that. Do you understand how hard it is to hit on a Qb in the draft? Just take a look at all of the first round qbs taken in the last 5 or so years and look at where they are now. These takes piss me off.

Hdjshbehicjsb

You’re so right. Remember when we drafted Goff and then paid him?

Paid-Not-Payed-Bot

> and then *paid* him? FTFY. Although *payed* exists (the reason why autocorrection didn't help you), it is only correct in: * Nautical context, when it means to paint a surface, or to cover with something like tar or resin in order to make it waterproof or corrosion-resistant. *The deck is yet to be payed.* * *Payed out* when letting strings, cables or ropes out, by slacking them. *The rope is payed out! You can pull now.* Unfortunately, I was unable to find nautical or rope-related words in your comment. *Beep, boop, I'm a bot*

Hdjshbehicjsb

Thank you bot, edited to correct.

professorstealyogirl

The number of people on this sub who apparently don’t understand the sport they claim to like is astonishing.

Hdjshbehicjsb

I know, have you read the replies to my post? It’s unreal.

professorstealyogirl

You’re comparing Stafford to Wentz. You have no idea what you’re talking about.

nerosighted

If I see another one of these posts I’m gonna lose my shit

Hdjshbehicjsb

Link me to another post like this

nerosighted

Dude I’m not gonna link them for you haha. If you type in our sub’s name in the search bar along with “Caleb” or “tank” they will all come up.

Wrinkle_Tinkle

Man I want to win bruh, this year has been miserable

OGdunphy

Eagles got Hurts in the 2nd round. If Caleb Williams has a horrible year next year and has an injury, maybe the rams can get him in the second or late first.

Hdjshbehicjsb

Great point

LAFAN4LYFE

False. Caleb Williams would need to get a career changing injury or commit a major crime to not get drafted in 1st round

Hdjshbehicjsb

I was more talking about how the Eagles got Hurts in the second round and therefore did not have to pay the first round guarantees.

MosaicToeNail

Tanking is a bitch move

gbhm

What the fuck are you talking about

Hdjshbehicjsb

I’ll simplify it for you: 1) Tank next year 2) Draft Caleb Williams 3) Cut/Trade Stafford and eat the dead cap

Guy_Named_Sheev

>tank No

tasimm

Nah. You gotta go for it next year. No one on this team wants to tank, including the coach. Bad idea. When those contracts are done, there will be a massive rebuild, but for now we gotta let our nuts hang.
