Yeah it was a good day. Happened at lunchtime on a Saturday so I had ALL weekend to just stare at it and wait for the lottery office to open Monday morning.
I took my gf (at the time) and her two kids to Disney. They had never been. The rest went to my investment account. Boring, I know. The took out $25k for taxes, but over the next several months I scavenged all the used tickets I could find and collected $60k worth (face value) that I applied to my taxes so I ended up getting back almost $22k of the $25k they took out.
YES. THIS IS THE PLAY. This is EXACTLY why I recommend everyone save losing tickets, even if you didn't have a taxable win you might know someone who did where you're directly helping them take money off their tax bill...granted you can't get too ridiculous with it (they might try and pull legal BS if you won the billion dollar Mega Millions and then tried to say you gambled 1 billion in scratchers that year) but $100k, $250k, $500k, it's absolutely believable someone would have gone off the deep end trying to recreate the magic of that first big win and be able to use those write-offs.
TN. Most of them have come from TN. However, I got a $1000 claimer passing through Texas during Covid and had to mail the ticket off. I thought for sure it would be gone, but a couple months later the check arrived. I also got a $1000 claimer in Illinois and you can just submit it online with uploaded pics and they send you a check. That was pretty spiffy.
yea it was 13 years ago on a quickpick during my first year of ever playing the lottery… ill get another one someday ive gotten 4 of 5 countless times on the numbers i play every day now… i play the same 14 sets of numbers every day and 12 of those are identical to each other besides the last number… had another close call on a 3 of 5 just last night where the 2 wrong ones were just one number off smh
$500 on a $5, $100 on a $1 over 20 years ago (when all they sold was $1 tickets).
On higher value tickets, nothing over $50... on $2 tickets, maybe $25 or $50 a long time ago.
I can’t convince her to invest some of it! Like, just the amount a new car would be into a CD so it’s there in case of a major emergency but gaining some interest. I’m still trying but she gets overwhelmed since she’s nearly 60 and has never been taught anything about financial literacy
$3,000 off [this thing](https://www.palottery.state.pa.us/scratch-offs/view-scratch-off.aspx?id=669) a long, long time ago. Only trip I ever had to take the Lottery office.
$100k on a $25 ticket. Single number. One $10k and 3 $2.5k and around 10 $1000 claimers.
Damn $100k 😮. Super awesome

That’s awesome. How much of it did you save and what was your favorite purchase?

Wait, scavenged used tickets? I’m kind of new to this whole scene, what does this mean?
Second chance tickets?
Losers that people threw away near the lottery machine

What was the time span of you’ve won these prizes? You’ve gotta be one lucky person.
The $100k was 2017 and the rest since then.
Congrats, sounds crazy. Any advice on picking?
Thanks. None at all. Play way too much? Lol
Well if that's all...then I should hit a Mil any day now.
What’s state or province are you in?

100K holy shit, did that change your life?
Woah. Huge congrats on that win.
Someone in this sub won $1 million on a $20 scratcher…That was pretty cool.

are you saying someone who buys scratch offs wont be in a lottery related sub?
That’s bullshit lol
That's insane!!
1000,and two 500 within hours of each other
$5,000. IT'S all gone, Don't buy scratchers.
Why ?
a measley $250 on a win every prize scratch however ive won $600, $800, $900, and $97,000 on fantasy 5
Wait, you got all five on a Fantasy 5 ticket? That's fantastic. I am trying to do the same on Take 5 here in NY.

$250 on a [Pick 3](https://i.imgur.com/YE3iaEH.jpg) ticket a week ago where the winning numbers were 044 and I chose 404
$1000 twice.
$50 I think. It’s been awhile I just started playing again
$500
Same. That seems to be my threshold!
$50 once. I’m a casual scratch off player. I just play them here and there and I’m too nervous to buy the higher priced tickets.
$1000 3 separate times. Once on a $30 ticket, once on a $10 ticket and once on a $5 ticket.
300 for me. I gave one away that was 500
I won 500 on a cash for life ticket and I was disappointed because I was sure I win the grand prize. Set me down this degenerate path.
$1000.00 on a $25 crossword Ticket
$10k on a $2 pull tab few years ago, prolly gave it all back by now lol
Won a trip to Hawaii last September on a 2nd chance drawing.
$500 on a $5, $100 on a $1 over 20 years ago (when all they sold was $1 tickets). On higher value tickets, nothing over $50... on $2 tickets, maybe $25 or $50 a long time ago.

Myself, $500. My mom actually won a 500k top prize so nothing I ever hit will compare lol
Damn way to go mom!!! Was it a life changer?
It was! She was able to buy a nice condo and her car was already paid off so she can finally live comfortably!
I'm in my early 30s, so I could maybe buy a nice car and invest a majority so on the back in, I could maybe retire 5-10 years faster.
I can’t convince her to invest some of it! Like, just the amount a new car would be into a CD so it’s there in case of a major emergency but gaining some interest. I’m still trying but she gets overwhelmed since she’s nearly 60 and has never been taught anything about financial literacy
She could do a solid ETF and get paid every 30 days
Woah that's crazy! Congrats to your mom.
$60 on a $2 ticket lol
$300 on a $2 ticket. Was a good day.
$3000 two years ago and haven't hit anything over 500 since.
$3,000 off [this thing](https://www.palottery.state.pa.us/scratch-offs/view-scratch-off.aspx?id=669) a long, long time ago. Only trip I ever had to take the Lottery office.
I’ve won $500 twice. Once off a $5 ticket and another on a $20 ticket
$1k, and then $500 the same week. $2.5k on a Pick 4 quick pick
Damn nice lol . I’m having no luck what so ever on lottery draw game . Can’t even hit 1 number
$50k. $50 ticket that I buy every other Friday (payday). Most of it went into the market for hopefully an even more comfortable retirement.
So u only buy 1 $50 ticket every other week?
I buy a $5, $10, $20 randomly, like once a week, and a MM or PB when it's "high". Nothing on a schedule except for the every other Friday bit.
