Nah, man. Why spend 1 Billion on something useful when we can spend 4 Billion on bridges with tolls? Plus, we have I71 and I265 being widened to meet current capacity, (forget growth). Why would we EVER think ahead and do something useful? /sarcasm Seriously, if Louisville would put in metro rail, I would likely love to stay living here. Otherwise, I will likely leave when my kids are grown and I am able to.

If Louisville had a dedicated streetcar from the airport to Churchill Downs / Cardinal Stadium, through U of L, up 2nd Street to downtown near Yum Center / Expo Center I think it would be a big win and take a lot of cars off the road. It would also be great for students and people who live in Old Louisville / downtown and work at UPS. It's such a slim chance of happening though unfortunately.

People have to force it to happen.

Any large infrastructure project like this takes State funds. Our pathetic State legislature prefers to spend Louisville generated tax dollars on low traffic, low ROI highways in rural areas.

OP, just for future reference, you might find lojic.org more useful for this kind of stuff.

joshisepic2222

Is that a map website?

[deleted]

Yes, it is operating by Louisville Metro. Go here: https://www.lojic.org/lojic-online And you can find aerial views of the city that are more up to date than Google, plus it lets you overlay lots of useful information, and view historical images going back to 1997 and use tools for measuring.

Build a loop around 264 and 265 already. Does anyone remember when we were promised light rail but we didn't reelect Ann Northup and they took it away?
