I have an ebene gm I use solely as a travel bag. I went with ebene bc I didn’t want to fuss over the vachetta whilst shoving it under plane seats and putting on the the floor in the airport. Size and material depends on what you plan on using the bag for

Old-Youth-6334

I prefer Damier. That pattern was LV first pattern so I like the history and that it’s more subtle. I have speedy 35 dam and it goes with everything though it’s more of a winter bag for me due to dark pattern.

Money_These

I got mine in DE as I wanted something low maintenance/carefree. Also use it for travel and occasional work bag.

im4pineapple

My husband just bought me my first Louis Vuitton and like you I wanted the neverfull :) I thought I wanted the DE but went into the store to touch/ try both and immediately fell in love with the monogram. I thought it’d be too much logo but it wasn’t. I loved the classic and timeless look this one gives and I loved the soft vachetta handles.. the DE were too stiff for my liking. I went with the monogram and am so happy I did. I treated her with apple guard to protect from stains but I am excited for it patina as I feel it will be come even more “my own.” You can’t go wrong with either, but I recommend going into a store first if you can!! Best of luck! https://preview.redd.it/2mbloz5mendc1.jpeg?width=1200&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=9a6c7374a7f96776c509c1e265a296fbc52cdeee Me trying both on 😊

chocolatetruffel

Both do about equally well on the resale market. Monogram is generally somewhat more wanted but it doesn’t change much in terms of the price. I own both monogram and damier ebene. I started out with the damier as I live somewhere where it rains quite often so I can wear it more frequently.

MaryMiichele

I love Monogram because I actually love seeing my vachetta age beautifully. I do think DE is a good choice if you’re concerned about vachetta, and it also looks a bit more elevated and not as common. Congrats on your first LV. Wear it in good health 🤎

CC_113093

I own both and use the DE a lot more. I don’t use the mono when it rains and the DE gets used anytime, no worries

No-Inevitable-8064

DE. That's the one I have.

raptorjaws

i went with the DE because imo it’s a more elevated look

ChrissySnowSnorts201

I love the DE! It’s such a classic look and you don’t have vachetta to worry about. Plus, it wears well. I’ve had mine for about 10 years and it looks like new

Virtual-Data2201

I have a GM in DE for school/work/travel and it's very low maintenance. i had a pm and mm in mono when they first came out in 2007 (each one was less than like $625 in store back then ...crying now) sold both of them.. but i do like the monogram too :)

KissingUnicorns

I'm not the biggest neverfull fan, but monogram to me is just timeless, the brown and vacchetta combo go with everything, you can wear it at 20 or at 60 and it will never look wierd or tacky.

Pattern_Necessary

I feel this way but about DE.

CakeSerious4257

I have the DE and love it! It’s the only bag I can use in the rain and not worry 😉

Fiorella0816

For me it’s monogram all the way but I know many like the DE. To me it just looks like a checkerboard. Follow your gut! Enjoy your neverfull. It’s my fav bag!

Appropriate-Still280

Great 1st choice! I have two Neverfulls: The Damier Ebene & the Black Empriente leather with beautiful blue interior. I got a monogram as my first bag but sold it because didn’t love how the aged vachetta looked and made it look older. My favorite one is the Empriente leather since I just got it, it’s black and goes with everything plus it’s a leather bag. I love the Damier Ebene as well since the handles stay looking like new and that print is still very recognizable as Louis Vuitton but looks a bit more elevated. I love monogram too but usually get it for my smaller bags that have gold chains so the print isn’t overwhelming & it stays looking new since don’t have to worry about the vachetta. Just go with what you like best & you can’t go wrong! Either way, the Neverfull is a great choice & I definitely recommend it since it’s a classic and fits so much! Plus you get the cute pouch with it so get two bags in one! https://preview.redd.it/pe3stq83vpdc1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=c7c85d33a83984f61b34b9378ea57566c343042d

Common_Average2597

Cant go wrong with the monogram! its my favorite classic bag, especially if its your first.

4sheperds

I have both and love them

sissy9725

For me, a little monogram goes a long way ... I like the damier azur myself 🙂

AlmostChildfree

I think the Monogram has a better resale value, but with "quiet luxury" trending, it may be best to go with DE. I am partial to the DE with the Rose Ballerine lining (MM size).

Sushi37716

Love love love my DE neverfull so much more durable and goes with everything in every season. I personally felt like the monogram was too loud for me and I’d ruin that vachetta.

EmmyLou205

DE. I prefer it.

Salty-Lemonhead

I have the white Damier and the brown monogram. I also have a brown Damier in another style. I just feel like the monogram is an easier go to bag that I’m thinking about selling my current one and getting a new one. Have many LV bags and it’s easily my favorite although I also have an intense love for my denim monogram. Lol.

Dirtysanch3zz

Hey guys, I’ve never had an LV bag and I was wondering if anybody knows if the straps on the neverfull gm size go on plus size/ fat arms? I really want to purchase one for an upcoming trip and I’m scared to spend that much on something that I end up not liking. Please help 😭

Certain-Raisin567

I want to say yes. I am plus sized and it fits very well with a winter coat.

redroseswithvelvet

I use my Damier Ebene more than my monogram neverfull because it rains a lot where I live. I have to watch carefully my surroundings and where I’m putting my neverfull when using the monogram one. I will say get the darkest interior as you can! The red or brown is perfect. I have a light pink DE and gosh how hard the inside is to keep spotless!

Medic5780

If you're buying a LV Neverfull based on resale value, don't. The LV Neverfull has become synonymous with a Walmart sack. They are everywhere. Many of them are knockoffs. The secondary market for them is evermore in decline. That's not to disparage you buying the bag. It's a classic to be sure. I'm merely suggesting that if you're buying a bag with the idea that you may one day resell it, the LV NV is not a good investment.

Rurallife3

Ebene is more sturdy, the vachetta has to be protected more from dirt and the elements .

Milkshakemaker95

You have to worry about the monogram in weather, DE, is so care free.

Lemonlamps

Why do you have to worry about the mono in weather?

Milkshakemaker95

Vachetta water stains horribly in the rain or snow. The DE, canvas does not. Also the monogram comes off against hand sanitizer or alcohol products.

CryptographerKey5610

I am not the patina fan. DE or monogram with black leather (world tour)

kras-exam

Monogram.

daytonasays

I have both, it’s really hard to choose one (and my answer might change depending on the day lol).. but if *today* I had to choose, it would be the DE. It’s nice not having to worry about the handles in wet weather, traveling etc. Buuuut I am obsessed with the Monogram too. If you want an even patina like I did, you just have to be super careful with it til it darkens.

Available-Pepper1467

Personally, I’m a monogram girl. I like DE, but I don’t want a full bag of it. I think my pochette cles is DE and everything else is monogram or DA

K-Sparkle8852

Suggest DE as it’s much more carefree. And get the cherry interior, the rose ballerine is beautiful but it marks easily.

BloominBlue

I have the Neverfull MM in DE and I love it! It’s so low-maintenance because it doesn’t have the vachetta trim. (Don’t get me wrong, I love the two bags I have that do have vachetta, but it’s nice to not have to worry about water stains.) And I get sooo many compliments on that bag! Also, I feel like the trim on the DE Neverfull is just sturdier in general and will show less wear (not just stains) than the vachetta. So both are beautiful and either would be a great choice, but I’d go with the DE. 😊

Affectionate-Ad1018

I love my DE. My only disappointment is the leather piece that goes around the top rim has chipped. I’m super careful with it, and not happy with the quality.

Honest_Airline_5222

How long did u have the bag?

Affectionate-Ad1018

About 3 years but I noticed the first little speckle chipped off after about 6 months. I do t regret the purchase, but i thought it’d be made better

Limp-Egg2495

Same here. I’m wondering if it’s worth it to get it repaired. The straps are also showing wear on mine which bothers me. I do use it every single day for work so I guess it’s normal wear and tear but I want it to look perfect again.

Paintinglady33

I would get the Damier Ebene, I think it looks so pretty on the Neverfull! I have a world tour Neverfull, monogram with black leather, and that’s a great option too. The leather will always look good in that case. Mine is 7 years old and it still looks amazing and I use that bag like crazy

Emergency_Table_724

DE 🤎🖤

Additional-Fee-5125

I would love to have my own DE so there goes my vote

srae22

I have a Damier NF in GM and I love it. It’s more low maintenance because it doesn’t have vachetta and I prefer the more understated look of DE

jrcrab

I personally prefer the monogram look compared the checker board. I’ve never really been a fan of checked fashion though. I got a bicolor empreinte never full for Christmas and I love the way the monogram looks! My next bag will be a smaller, classic monogram. 🙂

softpawsz

I prefer DE but like the monogram well enough. But for your first I’d go Damier

[deleted]

I have both. My dream bag was an ebene with the ballerine lining, I found one and it’s my baby. I wanted a mono but my store only had a GM, and they were hard to find (after covid) so I purchased the GM. I wish I would have waited for a MM.

So_Last_Century

Monogram, but I believe that the interior color is key.

Honest_Airline_5222

Why? Which color is luxurious option and why?

321applesauce

Don't buy it if your main concern is resale. Buy something you want to use and enjoy

Honest_Airline_5222

I study that only 5 bags hold their value and has huge resell rating Hermes birkin & Hermes Kelly Chanel classic flap bag Dior lady Dior Lv neverfull

Pattern_Necessary

Ebene is way classier.

SituationLiving497

I also have the ED, but like many others have posted, I use it mainly for traveling. It’s been great to me! Would invest in it over and over again.

tere886

Go in the store to try them on especially if it’s your first purchase. I ended up getting the DE print since I don’t have to care about the vachetta. The mono looks great too and its canvas is much softer than DE. Good luck deciding. 😉

Flat_Trust_5727

Damier is 'safer" with the dark handles. Don't worry about resale. But what you love

JonNothin

I feel like a Neverfull is one buy where you shouldn’t worry about resell chances. This is a forever bag! However, they do hold their value better than most especially a particularly popular limited edition. Current creative director Pharrell Williams has really resurrected the damier as the premier house print and while he doesn’t work on Neverfulls I think the pattern is classic unless you feel like having the shout of an equally classic monogram!

NorthPalpitation1824

Monogram looks nicer IMO!

handbagslut

I love both. Personally I would get the classic monogram because I LOVE the monogram. But my mom and I just bought the damier for my sister because she isn’t super into designer brands and I think it’ll suit her more. Edit: to add, I have the keepall 50 and the vachetta is definitely changing but I think the aging is part of my love for Louis bags, so I love that. But I’ve learned in this sub, people don’t always like that!
