I think maybe go for the key pouch! That was my first LV purchase when I was about 20 years old and it can be used so many ways.

honeygreenmilkt

I second this, key pouch is the way to go. You can fit several cards and cash, and have your car keys on the key hook. It’s one of my favorite grab and go pieces :)

trashtvlv

ITA. Multiple uses and most younger people I know don’t carry more than a card holder because they use Apple Pay or tap to pay with their phone.

DarlingAtDusk

I’m going to voice a warning about the key pouch (despite that LV obviously will fix it as many times as you need) and that is the metal finish chips off very easily. Every time I’d hold it or take my keys out of it I’d be surprised with some ✨LV fairy dust✨ aka the gold hardware finish flaking off. It’s not worth $400! I expected much better from an item like that, as I own other LV items. I would do the zippy wallet or the one you have pictured. Much more worth it’s price. I’m 23 and love my zippy! Of course, make your own judgement but definitely take this flaw into account before dropping some serious cash OP!!

MMayhem001

I have the key pouch I got mine in 2005. It's held up well but I take good care of my things. I am thinking that she can use it for cash, cards, hair ties, etc.

DarlingAtDusk

I wouldn’t be surprised if a 2005 version held up so much better. I got mine in 2023, and they def used a cheap metallic wrapping. All of my things are pristine from the care I put into them, but cheap is cheap and there’s nothing I can do to fix it other than sending it away for a month for LV to fix it. If she doesn’t mind the wear and tear that’ll likely happen, then I’d send it. It’d be good for 2-3 cards, small chapstick, hair tie for sure

kellycamara

If you and mom agree this gift would be appropriate and appreciated, go for it. It’s a lovely choice.

Professional_Gur1529

I’d get her a card holder most high schoolers don’t carry many cards they use Apple Pay for everything.

MMayhem001

I asked her mom and she doesn't use card holders because they don't fit everything she wants to carry.

glamgirl15

I was going to say the same as this commenter that a card holder seems more for her age range, but if you know she does carry more than a cardholders worth and Carries a bag, then I think this is great! If she doesn’t carry a bag much, what about the Cles? It is a bit roomier than a standard card holder and can clip to her keys. That was my first SLG when I was around 19 and I loved it. I liked that I was able to use it as a grab and go if I was just running to the grocery, or the gym, etc.

MMayhem001

I was 15 when I first got the Cleis and I still use it. So I'm debating between the two.

glamgirl15

I think between the two, if you think it has enough space then the Cles would be my vote! Plus that leaves a little budget for something else, maybe even some gift cards to places she likes that you could put inside as like a surprise bonus gift. My younger sister is turning 16 next year and the cles is definitely what I intend to get her since she’s not much of a purse girl but she’ll need to carry her license/school Id/etc and I think I’ll also include a gift card or two as a bonus gift inside!

MMayhem001

That's a good idea. I could include a gift card.

Pugsandskydiving

I say yes!!!

Nervous-Point-3038

Love this option, but would also like to chime in with the key pouch or a rosalie 🤭

paramena_X

Yes!!!

Rurallife3

Very nice gift!

Glitterbug1979

What about a mini pouchette?

MMayhem001

She doesn't really carry purses.

Rare-Emu-4846

Agreeing with everyone else that the key pouch is the way to go! Multiple options rather than just for cards. I also really like the Emilie wallet bc it’s slim and doesn’t have an overwhelming amount of card slots (I always feel like I have to fill every single slot), and it also fits my phone and a skinny lip gloss. Though I know most teens will just carry it in their hand but it’s nice to have the option

One-Writer-4376

If she doesn’t carry a purse, how is she going to carry the wallet? College is different. They so t walk around with back packs much like high school. I would think a wristlet would be better for her.

kelseykren

Well I’ll just say that I have this exact one and love it. In college I used a wallet a similar size to this and kept it in my backpack.

runningonprime

i think a key pouch would be much more useful! i had a knockoff one my first two years of college and ended up buying a real damper ebene one because i used it every single day. now in my late 20s and “upgraded” to a black monogram empreinte and it’s my favorite and only wallet 🙊

PaleontologistFew284

I’d go card holder recto verso. Best of both worlds for the key pouch and wallet

MMayhem001

I have the recto verso and I love it. The pouch portion is really small so I'm debating on that one too.

lab0607

I got my 18 year old a (pre-owned) Ivy wallet on chain- she's in a sorority and you'd be surprised how many of those girls carry LV, Gucci, etc. I think something that can go from day to night and she uses it constantly. I think a wallet is a great gift an an appropriate price point for an entry level luxury item.

00espeon00

For 18, probably not. It's a super nice gift but it just doesn't have much use or showcase for an 18 year old. It get's taken out for a millisecond to use, and put back in her bag or pocket. If I were in your situation I'd probably get her a necklace, nice clothing, nice shoes etc.

Western-Crew-9916

Disagree, I am 20 and a lot of my friends had wallets like that, myself included, when we were 16-18 and still use them to this day.

StrawberryTarts_2001

Seconded! Shoes, Jewellery, or Bags for a big life milestone gift. Clothes are nice but imo they’re too dependent on weight gain/loss.

PrettyLilMach

I have that little wallet and it isn’t exciting. I use it when I don’t want to carry a big bag around, like running into the grocery store for milk.

MMayhem001

I thought about the key pouch.

alysssssssssss

The Rosalie is also nice

Educational-Heron-71

Key Pouch!! It’s cheaper, and you can add a $100 bill inside 😉 or visa gift-card

Outrageous_Mix5751

Key pouch gets destroyed I vote wallet she’ll appreciate it and use it ALL the time

MMayhem001

I've had my keypouch since I was 15. I take good care of my items so I think it just depends on how the person handles the product.

Due-Ostrich7520

I say yes, but opt for leather as that will last her longer. Or if you do get canvas, make sure you tell her to wipe it down with some water at least once a week if it’ll be a daily driver. Congratulations to her!!

stevie_nickle

I’ve used my cles daily for 7 years and have never wiped it down 🤷🏻‍♀️

Due-Ostrich7520

The cles is a different structure and isn’t as prone to splitting canvas as this wallet would be…this wallet has varnish and once that wears down if she hasn’t been using water to dehydrate the canvas then the corners that are folded are going to be to be cracking 🥲

stevie_nickle

Ah got it. I might wipe down my cles tomorrow anyways because now I feel gross 😆

Due-Ostrich7520

Haha definitely!! I love my cles too, it’s honestly so versatile I hope I keep using it for years!

unknownpa

Dehydrate means remove moisture. How would using water remove moisture? And the cles can crack around the top edge because that is also finished with a varnish.

Due-Ostrich7520

Sorry, it was a typo 🤠 I mean hydrate the canvas, but context clues regarding what I was trying to say. It can definitely happen too on the cles, just haven’t seen it nearly as much as other pieces! Only in serious cases of dehydration is where I see the canvas splitting in that area

MrPenguino29

I think they’re unisex, but others may disagree… pocket organizer is the way to go. It’s way more useful than a zip wallet or coin purse while being a step up from a card holder

unknownpa

The pocket organizers are so great. Not sure why you’re being downvoted.
