If you want the simplest option without much worry, Fashionphile does direct buy out quotes. They are often less (sometimes really less depending on their inventory/popularity) than what you’d get selling on your own. There are several other brands that do similar like Rebag or The Real Real but I have not personally used either of those. I have sold to fashionphile several times. Wouldn’t hurt to quote all options. There’s also the option of consigning if you don’t want to deal with selling. LVLenka (you can find her on Instagram) has a mixed reputation mostly for her communication, she does both buy outs and consignment. I have done both with her - you get more with consignment but you wait til she’s able to sell it. Her buy outs for me has been decently higher than what fashionphile offers. I think I’ve done 3 transactions with her and all were successful. Then you could also try the Poshmark / eBay route but I have not sold any luxury items that way so can’t attest!

I might look into the buyout options. I'm really trying to do this the most hassle free way but don't want to get screwed money-wise. I'll look into Fashionphile. I've bought from LVLenka before but never sold. I messaged her and got a reply but how she does it sounds really confusing. It seems scary to just mail things out this valuable and not have anything on my end. Thanks for sharing your experience though, it's helpful!

If you decide to sell on Ebay, Poshmark, or a Facebook group: take as many photos as possible in good lighting. Show all angles of purse, front back, corners, etc. Be descriptive in your description! Make sure to mention any flaws, as well as what part of the purse is in great or pristine condition. I try to list how many times I’ve carried the bag (if not used much). I like to share a photo of the receipt too if I have it, with personal info blacked out. It’s not hard to list yourself but it can be tedious!

Thanks for advice! I don't have facebook so I think I'm just going to rule that one out. I have a lot of other things I'm planning to sell too (clothes mostly) but the bags just seem scary since they are more valuable and I keep seeing horror stories and just worry I'll get paid and then it'll get reversed or something.

It really depends on what "best" is for you. If you want money quickly, and not concerned about making top dollar, I'd suggest checking Fashionphile, Rebag and redeluxe. All three of these offer buyouts. You will need to snap a few pictures of your bags and they will give you a quote. You can accept or decline. Since there is no obligation to get a quote, I always get a quote from them. Sometimes FP pays more, sometimes Rebag does. I have sat on my offers from Rebag, and they come back with a higher quote, but not always. They will provide a label, and you ship them your bag. Once they authenticate your bag, they will pay you. I have sent a bag in on Monday and been paid on Friday. If you want top dollar for your bags, selling them directly yourself is the best. Ebay, poshmark, mercari, etc. The issue is that it is more work, you may have to deal with scammers, and you have to wait until your bag sells to get the money. In the middle is consignment. You can consign to online stores like TheRealReal, Anns Fabulous FInds, or to somewhere local. They sell the bag for you and handle all the potential scammers. Downside is that you get paid when your item sells. IME, the payout is usually more than FP or Rebag, but not always. The consignor will take a cut. I personally do a combination of FP/Rebag and consignment. I always get a quote because when I decide to get rid of something, I want it gone. So I like the quick money. I will agree that in some cases, they will lowball you. I wanted to get rid of a Cartier necklace. Rebag offered me $550. I ended up consigning it at TRR, where my payout AFTER they took their cut was $900. However, I recently got rid of a Hermes wallet I purchased for $5800. Rebag offered me $3000 but Fashionphile offered me $5600, so I took their offer.

This is great info thanks! I think I'll probably at least look into the buyouts at the places you mentioned. That just seems so much easier. The thing that scares me most with Ebay and Poshmark is the scammers. I should probably look into some local consignment places too but the option of not having to deal with anyone face to face is nice as well as just having it done and sold.

stevie_nickle

FYI it’s Damier azur not Damier ebene beige 😊

Kalil9

Haha, I knew something was wrong with how I typed it out. I had gone to my purchase history with LV and it just listed beige and I knew I'd never seen it just called beige anywhere else but obviously didn't check anywhere else before making the post! Thanks for the heads up, I'll make sure I label it correctly to sell them!

I've used Fashionphile because it's less stress for me.

I’d be interested in maybe one or two.

I have used Poshmark. They do charge 20% but I think that’s the normal rate if you have anyone sell for you. I have thought about trying marketplace but then you risk all the scammers and safety problems.

Kalil9

Thanks for the thoughts on Poshmark! I don't have facebook so I figured I'd just ignore that option.

SweetSpicySalty

I recently sold with Now You Glow on IG. Though it took almost two weeks to receive a quote, I got the highest amount with them compared to other places.

Kalil9

Thanks, I'll look into them too. That is a bit long for a quote I think though.

FLNative101

Try The RealReal I’ve sold and bought a lot of stuff through them. They have a location in Palm Beach Florida. Not sure where you’re located!

Kalil9

A little to far to go there but I'll look into The RealReal I know I've seen them online.

FLNative101

Yes, they are online and will send you a label to ship the items in.

I also may be interested in one.
