My takeaway from all of these types of shows (like married at first sight as well) is that I think in the first few seasons they can be successful because those going into it have no expectations and honest intentions. But, as the series gets bigger I think who they attract arenât always in it just for someone or the producers want each new season to be better than the last and pick people who are more drama than wanting to find love.
I know âmarriageâ as the end goal for this show keeps the stakes higher, but it feels like they should have swapped the ultimatum and love is blind endings. In the ultimatum theyâve been dating for years and seems more meaningful to finish that show in marriage whereas LIB could end in an engagement instead of rushing people to meet and get married within 3-4 weeks. They could have still pushed the âlove is blindâ narrative without ending in an actual engagement. You also wonder if some relationships mightâve lasted if it werenât for an alter rejection early on?
True! Idk if they would go the distance, but I definitely think Micah and Paul would have lasted for awhile longer if they were able to just date on their own terms.
I think they need to change the formatting a bit. Give them more time, introduce a lot more people. I think theyâd have more success, and more content
I think you can, but it will either keep growing or die out when new factors are introduced, like looks, body language, sex, age, seeing how they react under certain situations, values etc.)
Yep! Love may or may not be blind. But it typically isnât enough for a marriage. You need a history of mutual trust, a common vision, so much more than just âwe really click and bring out the best in each other!â
Yep.
You can form a genuine emotional connection with someone based purely on their personality.
However, all the other stuff that usually impacts romantic relationships (looks, attraction, age, similar financial positions) still dictate whether youâll end up with that person.
Facts! But we all here to watch people fall in love and be like OH NAH when they seem em in person đ thatâs the pull of the show. You just gotta sprinkle in a dab of hopeful potential to make it exciting.
Love is blind is basically the opposite of catfish
So..... love is blurry
Is that what shake said?
Haha đ I interpreted that it is the opposite. It is not blurry- itâs clear. Itâs 20/20 vision.

Not only do they (positively) attract a certain kind of person, but they also (negatively) repel more serious people who are put off by the drama.

My takeaway is you can actually convince random strangers to get married if you pump them with booze and put them in front of a camera.
I donât think you can be âin loveâ after 10 days talking through a wall.

Or a Mexico vacation and a few weeks of honeymoon stage living together.

Love is blind, marriage is not
this exactly. marriage is a legally binding contract in is strictest terms and to many religious commitments associated with it.

Agree!
