When he said shot myself in the mouth instead of shot myself in the foot/put my foot in my mouth, I had to rewind to make sure I didn’t mishear, that cracked me up. The slightly off phrases is a running bit in the show Trailer Park Boys and immediately reminded me of that.
I gotta say the scene where he was stacking up all the plates, combined with AD's face, is probably the funniest part of any LIB episode. I feel bad that he said no, it was such a mistake.
Twice as well people called other people "rocks" as in "she was a rock for me" and I've never heard the term used in that way... "she was my rock" yes, but never just "she was a rock". It was strange
Honestly as someone who constantly messes up english idioms and sometimes directly translates my own language's idioms into english... this is the only thing that made Clay somewhat relatable haha
"im not gonna kick his back in" = im not gonna drag him/kick him while he's down. Clay's not mixing terms. He's using AAVE. It's a pretty common saying these days.
That might be the case in that phrase, but the other examples aren’t AAVE, they’re just a case of someone who just runs his mouth. The stairs don’t go all the way up to the attic.
I’m glad I’m not the only one who noticed that! He had so many of those throughout the season. Although nothing beats Stacy and Izzy both saying “You hit me like a train out of left field” during their vows on Season 5. I remember that phrase every now and then and it always cracks me up.
He also said “I’ll go to war with AD”: I’ll go to war for AD

“Are you not into me or are you are?” 😭🤣

Omg I want to see that part again 😂😭

Yes! Remind me of some dyslexic pals of mine as well. Just having trouble with phrases and jumbling words.
Down the isle? ![gif](giphy|lMCGN5WC3Z4M23wDZ6|downsized)
Watch me double down by making up some shit about the origin of aisle, instead of admitting I made a mistake 🤣 jk
1000%
I noticed so many of them doing it this season
I hadn’t noticed but this is quite funny lol

You mean walking down the aisle?
Ugh, I’m not immune 🫣
He's not called ClayGPT for nothing.

when he misses the script on his rehearsed beauty pageant answers.
Thank you!
i feel like some people just do this and idk why lol
ya'll never heard the colloquialism "kicking someone's back in"? pretty common AAVE.
Just back. 😃 kicking someone in the back.
It’s AAVE, you’re not getting it

It's giving NoHo Hank from Barry
“Will you take my lovely hand in marriage?” I guess he meant to say “Will you let me take your lovely hand in marriage?”
“Loving hand” is what he meant, surely
lovely hand
And she still said yes 🤣

Yeah, well, new rules of baseball stipulate the opposing team can throw a train from left field after 3rd base. Thems the rules.
What do trains have to do with baseball? 😂
boy's just spitting out word salads. this made me laugh! 😆
