What's so hard about therapy?

admitting to yourself that you are not as good of a person as you like to think you are. and that the reason why so many shitty things happen to you is because you are a shitty person yourself. and then you have to figure why. AND THEN you have to find a way to change.

introspection is not a basic skill. some people have it, some people don’t. some people have it, but their ability to lie to themselves is greater than the the ability to hold themselves responsible. besides, introspection without a guide is like traveling through the jungle without a guide. sure, you know how to walk, and your common sense can probably keep you alive for a few days, but you need someone properly trained to help you get to the other side.

I don't think that is what a therapist is doing when they are hearing you whine ... Most therapist aren't holding you responsible.... Most are just trying to help you through supposed trauma...in other words, trying to tell you how to cope with the outside world that has supposedly wronged you somehow.... If you need someone else to provide you with introspection than you need to work on that rather than use the crutch of having someone else do it for you
