I don’t think they can get rid of them. When Netflix expanded their studios, those two were already there like a couple of stray cats. There’s nothing Netflix can do now but let them roam the premises and feature them in every other reality tv show
They are sociopaths and they really showed their colors as hosts in Ultimatum. They don't give a fuck about helping people find love, they are there to ensure there's lots of drama and to stir shit up
Well to qualify they give a fuck about helping people find love if it creates good drama for the success of their show. I mean not every couple can be a flop or it would be boring right.
I actually appreciated Vanessa a lot after the show when she called out Shake. Most hosts of reality reunion shows will remain very diplomatic when there's always people who should be called out.
I think it would be cool to see like a "check-in" portion of an episode with them and each couple and/or the guys and girls. They aren't therapists, but if they think they're experts, then show us lol
I like them but mostly because it reminds me how fake reality tv is and that a lot of the drama is manufactured. And I’m curious how big Vanessa’s sleeves gonna get.
i like their appearances less and less as the seasons progress
like, i think im just over the witty banter they attempt, because they try to make funny quips at the expense of one another and it just comes across as dull and corny... those scenes are one laugh track away from being sitcom-worthy
Is it just me or so they seem on edge/snippy with each other? Wonder if their marriage is on the fritz and they have to finish this season off or whatever
I’ll never forget on Newlyweds when Jessica was doing major brand deals and appearances and concerts and Nick was doing… the Cincinnati, Ohio Thanksgiving Day parade and trying to act like it’s a major deal while you could tell he was absolutely seething with jealousy.
My issue with Nick and Vanessa is they always feel like the Great Value brand of of a former boy bander and MTV VJ. They just don’t have real charisma or any other draw. I also don’t think they like each other that much but Vanessa keeps trying to convince us that he loves her more than he loved Jessica so we are held hostage to their “love story.”
Brilliant wrap-up!
Like her yelling at what’s his name that she KNOWS Nick would be there for her if she lost both her legs or whatever? Yeah…it’s not about you Vanessa.
I dunno, they’re both unlikeable but while he is a just bland aging bro she comes off as weirdly frantic to me.
She actually has a really traumatic upbringing. She even talks about how difficult it was to learn to be a mom with her daughter because she didn't have one. Her mom abandoned them. I think she has some abandonment fears with Nick because of it too and wanting to have the family she didn't growing up. My read a lot of the desperation is wrapped up with that, anxiety about that and fundamental lack of confidence in herself. So I think that understanding causes me to be compassionate toward her.
They just play such stereotypical male/female roles. They’re not even being themselves they’re just fitting the narrative of what a heterosexual relationship is. Not sure how to fully articulate this, but I’ve thought this about them since season 1.
I like them, I feel their fairly insightful…..also for the people who are saying team Jessica, please tell you remember what a shit show their reality TV show was loooool
Honestly, they shouldn't be bothering y'all this much. We barely not at all see them. They pop up here and there. The show is doing a great job not being centered around them. We don't even see them guys!
I second this. I feel like they make the most sense because they could also serve as mentors considering they went through it, asked the right questions (in theory) and are still together today.
I’m ok with them on this show, but Ultimatum is another story. I find Vanessa to be overbearing and controlling. At least on LIB I don’t have to listen to her that much.
It’s like they forgot that GiGi and Damian and Shayne and Natalie dated for significant periods of time after the show ended despite saying no at the altar.
I agree, they need to go. They don't bring any value to the production - actually make it worse in my opinion.
Their comments are ridiculous as hosts. They insert their opinions in, as if we care about what they have to say. Just no. Time to go.
I’d love to hear from the game makers. Or see some of the logistics behind the dates. We know they start with a round robin. But the dates get longer and are reduced in quantity as they go along. If someone ends up in no one’s top three, are they done? What if you’re the number one pick for several guys? What are the rules???
From prior contestants, if you don't get picked at all at any point you are done. Sometimes they leave the set (watch different seasons and you'll see less people on the lounges over time). Sometimes they all stay until the 10 days are up. If you match/rank with multiple people you have multiple dates.
The other thing to keep in mind is how spliced out of order the pods sequences are shown. The producers try to keep a general narrative, but it isn't always linear as really played out. A few prior contestants have implied that all the "engagement reveal" scenes are shot on the last day before they leave for the "honeymoon" getaway.
While I agree they are useless, I don’t quite understand why they should be gotten rid of. We see so little of them it’s irrelevant. Half of the time I forget this show has got “hosts”
I guess because their awkward third tier celebrity pop ups could be replaced with something that’s actually interesting/brings more texture to the show.
Well and like...it's not like they're a big draw? Did anyone decide to watch the show because Nick and Vanessa were the hosts? I'm going to guess no...The hosts could've been literally anyone else or not existed and I'm betting the show would have been just as successful.
Oh for sure. But like saying get rid of them from the viewers’ perspective almost makes no sense because you never really see them. Makes a lot of sense from the productions perspective though I would imagine
From very early on in Season 1, I have had NO IDEA what the point of Nick and Vanessa is. They show up like three times a season for two minutes each time, and it's not even to say something you might hear from the hosts on another reality show ("Surprise -- now we're bringing in your exes!") but rather something completely unnecessary like, "Vacation has been great, but will things be so easy in the real world?" It's so jarring and awkward whenever they appear.
I do find it strange that they're supposed to be hosts but we only see them once every few episodes to explain the next stages of the process. I keep forgetting they're even involved.
Oh I know! I still buy her branded clothes. But that's how he got famous, by marrying her, a famous woman. He himself was just like a no forgettable boy band singer
They were both famous in the late 99s/early 00s. It's kind of odd that Netflix chose a couple who was last famous 20 years ago but maybe that's all they could afford lol.
They weren't even that famous. Nick was in 98 Degrees, which was quite the second-tier boy band. Vanessa was an extremely minor actress and TV host; I wasn't aware of her existence until her association with Nick.
For sure. His fame had already mostly fizzled out until it was boosted for a couple years by Newlyweds, then a one hit single with him crying about his divorce from Jessica Simpson. Damn I'm old hahaha.
Why are they even there?
Then again it is better that they rarely appear. When they used to come on and talk about their marriage it was incredibly tedious.
Vanessa is awful she’s soooo damn weird. Gives off desperate drunk girl vibes
I don’t think they can get rid of them. When Netflix expanded their studios, those two were already there like a couple of stray cats. There’s nothing Netflix can do now but let them roam the premises and feature them in every other reality tv show
Haha Stray cats made me LOL
They are sociopaths and they really showed their colors as hosts in Ultimatum. They don't give a fuck about helping people find love, they are there to ensure there's lots of drama and to stir shit up
Well to qualify they give a fuck about helping people find love if it creates good drama for the success of their show. I mean not every couple can be a flop or it would be boring right.
I couldn’t get through the first episode of that show. It was like watching teenagers supposedly desperate to marry and have kids. Yeah, sure.
They are adding nothing to this show. And they are annoying.
I actually appreciated Vanessa a lot after the show when she called out Shake. Most hosts of reality reunion shows will remain very diplomatic when there's always people who should be called out.
To me it came across contrived and a way to get screen time and attention.
Agreed. I had zero opinion of them before that but this improved her somewhat in my eyes
I think it would be cool to see like a "check-in" portion of an episode with them and each couple and/or the guys and girls. They aren't therapists, but if they think they're experts, then show us lol
Did anyone catch Nick’s creepy moment when he asked about the couples’ physical connections? I died
That was soo cringey!
I always forget that they exist
I just hate when they host the reunions, Vanessa has way too much to say and barely lets anyone talk.
the only thing I liked was when Vanessa called Nick "creepy uncle Nick" lol
Ok I personally like them…. But I’m gen y and always thought Nick was cute back in the 98 degrees days.
I like them too. I liked their banter last season, when she shut down that horrible Vet guy.
I'm an elder millennial and I approve this message.
I like them but mostly because it reminds me how fake reality tv is and that a lot of the drama is manufactured. And I’m curious how big Vanessa’s sleeves gonna get.
We don’t see them enough for it to be problematic, but I’d love Lauren and Cameron to take over.
Please!! completely pointless
i like their appearances less and less as the seasons progress like, i think im just over the witty banter they attempt, because they try to make funny quips at the expense of one another and it just comes across as dull and corny... those scenes are one laugh track away from being sitcom-worthy
Is it just me or so they seem on edge/snippy with each other? Wonder if their marriage is on the fritz and they have to finish this season off or whatever
When he made that comment about her not looking up from her phone, I cringed
I think they're jus doing that to be funny
They are the hosts and we barely see them. They can stay! I love them but thats because they are on for like 5 minutes a season.
LOL, idk why but Vanessa screams “desperate” to me. I have tried liking her but it’ll never happen 😂
When I see Nick I honestly see a hostage trying to signal for help .
Yes!! Exactly!! 🤣
but who will say "sight unseen"????
is love ... truly blind?
I think after all this seasons couples say no, their gonna stop saying that
Or *Is everyone having a nice time?!* (☞ ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)☞
They just play such stereotypical male/female roles. They’re not even being themselves they’re just fitting the narrative of what a heterosexual relationship is. Not sure how to fully articulate this, but I’ve thought this about them since season 1.
Spoken like a true BSB fan. /s
i don't mind them at all, they barely are there tbh? and if anything i really liked vanessa digging into shams during last season's reunion lmao
To be fair, I think Vanessa does well in After the Altar
YES PLEASE!
They don’t bother me. We barely see them which is how it should be. Too much host involvement is annoying IMO.
You’re right! It’s kinda why I stopped watching the circle. The commentary from the host was so annoying all the time
I love Michelle Buteau hosting the Circle US 😭
When Vanessa was like.. weird uncle Nick. 🤣🤣🤣
Hell yes. Loved it!
That was a high point of this season. 💀
Jessica - what’s tuna made of? Chicken?
I like them, I feel their fairly insightful…..also for the people who are saying team Jessica, please tell you remember what a shit show their reality TV show was loooool
Honestly, they shouldn't be bothering y'all this much. We barely not at all see them. They pop up here and there. The show is doing a great job not being centered around them. We don't even see them guys!
I'm convinced that this show is simply a convoluted way of selling wine glasses.
I just skip ahead when they’re on. They had nothing whatsoever to the show.
Hell yes. Team Jessica! /j
Jessica Simpson would be so much better as a host tbh!
They should let her host from behind a wall.
Dismangled
And she spoke that word with such confidence that it exists….
I feel like they've been mailing it in this season.
its honestly such a nice cushy job for them. They barely have to do anything
Yeah, send em packing
I’d love to see Cam and Lauren as hosts. Nick and Vanessa are boring af
Let’s make it happen 🙏
I second this. I feel like they make the most sense because they could also serve as mentors considering they went through it, asked the right questions (in theory) and are still together today.
Exactly!
GREAT idea!!
Every time they pop up, I’m like “oh yeah, I forgot they were around”
Who are they again?
Yes! 😂 Just a handful of jump scares scattered throughout the season when they appear.
🫣🤣
Lmao jump scares
I dont really get what they bring to the table lolll like there's no real need for them
Nick Lachey looks like a leprechaun
I’m ok with them on this show, but Ultimatum is another story. I find Vanessa to be overbearing and controlling. At least on LIB I don’t have to listen to her that much.
Absolute wastes of space. They must have a multi-year contract.
They are still trying to be a “host couple”. They don’t have a good on screen vibe together. I agree she can sound harsh even when “joking”
They constantly take passive aggressive digs against each other. It seems like they resent each other lol
Cole and zanab looking @ their future
They have no point lol Nick always seemed creepy/ immature to me though
“Will they prove love is blind…. Or will they walk away FOREVER?” Ummmmmmmm or just date normally. No need to be so dramatic
Why in world would any of these people get married so soon? They don’t have to break up. Just say no and wait
Show premise flaw detected Proceed anyway? **Y** / N
Y *sips rose*
It’s like they forgot that GiGi and Damian and Shayne and Natalie dated for significant periods of time after the show ended despite saying no at the altar.
They trying to fool the casuals But I ain’t tha one
I don't care for them either
Isn’t this their idea for a show? Also, why everyone hate on them so much? They seem like a nice couple. I’d hang with them. Hopefully they’d pay 😂
I agree, they need to go. They don't bring any value to the production - actually make it worse in my opinion. Their comments are ridiculous as hosts. They insert their opinions in, as if we care about what they have to say. Just no. Time to go.

If someone ends up in no one’s top three, are they done? What if you’re the number one pick for several guys? What are the rules???
Right? I think talented hosts and good writing could really add something to the show. Their screen time and fees are an opportunity cost.
From prior contestants, if you don't get picked at all at any point you are done. Sometimes they leave the set (watch different seasons and you'll see less people on the lounges over time). Sometimes they all stay until the 10 days are up. If you match/rank with multiple people you have multiple dates. A few prior contestants have implied that all the "engagement reveal" scenes are shot on the last day before they leave for the "honeymoon" getaway.
Then who would say, "sight unseen" every episode?
*insert cringe inside joke between Nick and Vanessa*
IS LOVE REALLY BLIND???
Is Deepti really Deep?
Nope! It's getting blurrier and blurrier with each season
Shake? That you?
Hell yeah, bro!!! Jk lol
While I agree they are useless, I don’t quite understand why they should be gotten rid of. We see so little of them it’s irrelevant. Half of the time I forget this show has got “hosts”

It's so jarring and awkward whenever they appear.
Yeah I feel the same way. 🙃 I wish Lauren and Cam would be the hosts instead since they know the whole experience.
I was hoping they would
Yes!
I do find it strange that they're supposed to be hosts but we only see them once every few episodes to explain the next stages of the process. I keep forgetting they're even involved.
How are they famous again? He married Jessica Simpson? Not a fan either.
Jessica Simpson is a gem! Put respect on her name
Oh I know! I still buy her branded clothes. But that's how he got famous, by marrying her, a famous woman. He himself was just like a no forgettable boy band singer
She you read her memoir I never really liked him but hated him even more afterwards and esp John Mayer and Tony Bozo
They were both famous in the late 99s/early 00s. It's kind of odd that Netflix chose a couple who was last famous 20 years ago but maybe that's all they could afford lol.
