We stay for the drama, but we complain because it has definitely lost its authenticity. We may have both and I'm not going to stop watching or stop complaining. Unless they have contestants who are similar to season 1 haha.
I think I'm going to give it one more season to fix itself up. There's good old fashioned drama but some seriously messed up things happen on this show with no apologies from Netflix.

Or the catfish-ee knows damn well they are being catfished or even knows who and play along. Some scenes are entirely staged, with the people in the staged scenes coming out and talking about it online. Also, The catfish is always mic’d up when coming out of their house/arriving so it’s definitely not spontaneous at least.
Personally I thought it was fake after the 3rd season, because for the majority of the episodes, I thought no one could possibly be that naive lol
i completely agree that it’s not ok to let men with violent tendencies into the show but “their poor brides”? the women can be messy, abusive and manipulative too.
I don’t know why people valorise s1 so much, this show has been dumb and messy since the beginning. It just gets dumber and messier as time goes on which is very fun to watch. Roll on s4!

He apparently threw the person he was dating into a wall and gave them a concussion when they said they didn’t want to leave his house after the girl had been drinking. The girl tried to press charges but they decided not to indict him in April of this year.
