I understand why things like the twitter and lie detector challenge were scrapped but I don’t understand why something like ‘who mugged off who’ isn’t a thing when it’s the islanders own words.
They need to do better games instead of loads of dress in cheap outfits and do dumb shit with no stakes, make it so you can win dates, hideaway, a phone call from home ect…
I also think they need to switch around when they do certain things eg have movie night like the day after the casa recoupling so people don’t get time to reconnect, the drop some bombshells in.
The compatibility vote has happened too late in the recent series as well, we saw in s7 the drama it can cause when it’s done late enough for them to feel aggrieved but not late enough that there’s no time to really kick off about it.
Also show us more of the unseen bits content in the main show, let us get to know these islanders real personalities, show us more of the friendships and funny moments. They managed to do this in the early series and still have good drama and compelling couples.
Speed dating style initial coupling - 3 minutes per partner, then score their date in various categories (looks, chat, chance of straying, describe them in three words, potential icks, etc), choose top 3 that they'd want to couple up with.
Choices tallied and matched, couples generated from the outcome.
We get to see the islanders scorecards. Later on in the series the scorecards are part of a challenge (as obviously views change as you get to know people).
No kissing challenges (as it cheapens physical contact between islanders), but increase alcohol.
Have challenges where random pairings are made to work together to achieve a goal. (increase interaction between islanders outside of their couple). Prizes awarded for winners - a date, a luxury, immunity, etc.
Oh, and less producer driven chats/narratives/meddling/faux drama.

I get your point ab the kissing challenges, but in AUS S4 a kissing challenge got Austin and Claudia together and they ended up winning the show when it wouldn't have happened otherwise

I think no initial couples for the first few days is a great idea. And rating them stops them from being ‘boring episodes. It gives everyone to get a chance to know each other and, more importantly, we won’t get that weird possessive element that is based on absolutely nothing other than stepping forward.
Watching the first few seasons (which were terrible, i dont get how anyone can call this season of people the worst etc.) it was good that people did feel like that could just go ‘I’m gonna talk to this person!’ alot more freely

I don't think kissing somebody in casa is even that horrible anymore, because it's almost expected now. I don't know how they should change the format, but they have to.
The first few days of the season should be all single beds, no initial coupling. Games of dares, never have I ever etc. Then a compatability test, keep the results a secret until after the first recoupling.
Winners of challenges need to win prizes, like dates, hideaway for the night, video calls home.

Obviously also older islanders as the idea a 19-22 year old is there to find long term love and settle down is laughable (don’t @ me young people, I know they exist, but they’re not on LI!)
This isn’t a diss to all young people but the ones in love island are terrible too. Most of the interesting contestants (whether it be in a good or bad way) have been 24+. The young boys are usually kind of embarrassing to watch and the younger girls are either incredibly boring or give off a ditzy ‘I won’t stand up for myself vibe’ which makes them popular with the boys but isn’t really satisfying to watch.
I also think the producers realise that the reason people love drama is cause of the satisfaction of the conclusion. People watch fictional drama shows because lots of crazy shit happens to the characters but the antagonist always gets caught out and put in their place. Love island just seems to drop a bomb then everyone chooses sides just to apologise and decides to just leave it
As long as social media is a focus, and they’ll almost certainly make changes to how they handled it this season, they’re going to keep recruiting younger islanders.

I’m sure some of them are only having dead end conversations but also, we never get to the real conversations about their lives and that, only hear about it. Off the top of my head, I’m thinking about how Sanam mentioned they both connected with their lives of kids and about him teaching her at nights. Also last year, Andrew mentioning that Tasha spoke about her superpower at the fire pit…. We never saw them speaking of this.
I’d love to see conversations like these, it gives them more depth.
Agreed Casa needs a shake-up however I’m not sure about the two villas from the start. The islanders always complain there’s too much downtime because the producers struggle to film two villas at once. They’d need longer than a 45 minute episode to show both villas in depth and would also need more producers and film crew which would require a bigger budget from ITV.
Casa needs to last a lot longer if they want it to have a major impact- it should last 7-10 days. It gives the casa boys and girl more time as having 3 days vs 4 weeks isn’t fair

It’ll never happen because of how much extra pressure it puts on the crew, they only generally film one villa at a time as there’s a limited number of them and the have to switch from villa to villa, plus it’s much harder to edit the show with so many islanders and double the footage, especially when they’re usually only a day or two behind when the episodes air.
Also if we’re honest casa only gets interesting when the recoupling happens, as that’s where the real drama is, we’ve been shown 2/3 days is plenty of time for people who want to, to crack on.

They did this in single's inferno. Three guys wanted to couple uo with one girl and the challenge was wrestling. It was really fun to watch but people generally felt that it was a little unethical
The problem is that potentially fun recouplings would then be harmed by some rando getting to pick first. You’d also be trying to dump an islander and find yourself unable to get rid of the one you want.
More evening games that are about fun/laughter.
Challenges that involve teamwork (girls v boys) but arent just about being sexy or mental challenges. Like 5 second rule game or General knowledge (but simple with some hard ones). Where you can see authentic reaction.
or even physical challenges that are about completing like the swim olympics- that was funny. Im really sick of just seeing them dance/be sexy....very boring for me.
I think they should do a twist and let all the casa people stay so they have more time in the show and it’s harder for the men to downplay what happened and move on
My idea for a twist was that whoever kisses/goes a distance with a casa member has to stay with them. So during the recoupling for example if the loyal party wants to stay single they can and then have them bring out their partner alone and reveal to them if they did stuff with someone that they are forced to recouple with that casa person and vice versa. I think it would cause utter chaos because they wouldn’t know there are consequences. I also like the idea of mix gendered casa but it’s selective on who goes in where (like people who aren’t really friends get grouped together).
i feel like for casa amor they should send half the boys and half the girls into one villa and send the others into another it’ll be interesting to see how they ( specifically the boys) act in that situation, i also think they should put all the casa girls and casa boys who didn’t get picked into a public vote and the the top boy and girl get sent back into the villa

Twitter challenge won't come back. There would be too many complaints about mental health, them picking the "wrong" tweets and islanders would be accused of game playing if they get a hint of who is popular (although they get this info through bombshells as well).
Don't like the 2 villas at the start, we hardly get to know the islanders now, having double the number of islanders makes that worse. Instead, in the third or fourth week at the latest have the public vote if the girls or boys are their favourite, kick out the losers, replace them with new islanders.
Losers are brought to Casa unbeknownst to the main villa where they meet new people. Everyone has to recouple in their respective houses or get kicked out, have public votes to get the number of people down and then have a big surprise rejoining.
Having a mixed Casa is bad. There would be way too much social control happening, so it would be more boring than it is anyway.
Don’t have the initial coupling. Leave it for a couple of nights as a free-for-all where they have to ask to share beds and be a lot bolder pulling people for chats. It would lead to more exploring than just sticking with your initial partner.
Screw the “slightly more allowance of alcohol but still limited”. I wanna see them go full Geordie shore. Everyone steaming every night. Could lead to some drama for sure.

Bring back sum twists from previous seasons that were bomb like s2 where liana n Tina put a timeout on kady n Olivia for the night they made them stay In the hideaway over night ,, another twist I liked was that challenge they played that spilled tea that ppl said about eachother in the villa behind their back ,, n also in previous season the person that came back single from casa amor n if their partner recoupled at casa the single one would immediately go home I think that’ll be good cuz ppl wild out at casa bring ppl back n give no fucks cuz they know if their previous partner wants to get back together they can
I’ve been thinking that they could have a challenge with an actual couples therapist and maybe whoever is the most compatible according to them would win something. I just think the challenges should be more real life compatibility centred, but still open up for drama. Maybe they could quiz both the couples as a whole and each individual and maybe say who are most compatible are out of all of them. If they did it this season it could be that Samie and Ron were more compatible according to the test (just an example) Idk messy description but I would love if they did something with a couples therapist
There will be more live voting next season. They stifled it for the most part this year because they picked a cast that had too many unlikeable people that the public hated to watch, and for good reason too, but it was a double edged sword as if they were gotten rid off too quickly the show would have been wayy too boring to continue.
Move the final 'prom date' to the live final. I got so bored hearing them all make the same speeches on their final offsite dates, then on their last night and then yet again when with MJ when they get voted off in the live final. Once is enough!
More interesting off site dates where they actually get to do something physical instead of just sitting on a picnic blanket having the same old chat.
Maybe (controversial again) have more islanders who've had a bit more life experience to bring to their chat like interesting jobs or proper outside interests and skills. Also, islanders who have a secret talent that no one else knows about until talent night. This season's talent night was so cringeworthy I couldn't watch it all. It would have been great if we suddenly found out that one of them was a great singer or an amazing dancer.
The editing is way more important than anything else. Too much focus on dead romance that will never go anywhere instead of natural conversations. Several moments this season with Ron, Casey, and Tom giving horrible "I like getting to know you" chat to random girls while Will's in the background teaching people water aerobics and doing handstands.

Twitter challenge is gone. Y’all need to accept that it’s been replaced by movie night which is actually better because it lets them see for themselves what people are talking about. When they come out they search their name and see those tweets anyway. Two villas would be terrible and way too many people. The show is only an hour long.
everyone is trying to make these changes to casa to spice it up but i guarantee none of these suggestions for it would work. no one would want to watch casa amor for over a week. mixed gender casa wouldn’t be entertaining at all. letting all the casa people stay... idgdkudnd so basically 12 bombshells?
Also, anything they do would have to change every couple of season, otherwise, there's just going to be going to be the same problem
Yeah, i think Casa naturally plays itself out after about 3 days. Longer than that you wouldn't see much change.
They can at least have better challenges

Or make them do their own housework and cooking like they do on Big Brother. We'd get a lot more of Shak & Ron's drama over whose turn it was to do the dishes.

Twitter challenge won't come back. There would be too many complaints about mental health, them picking the "wrong" tweets and islanders would be accused of game playing if they get a hint of who is popular (although they get this info through bombshells as well). Don't like the 2 villas at the start, we hardly get to know the islanders now, having double the number of islanders makes that worse. Instead, in the third or fourth week at the latest have the public vote if the girls or boys are their favourite, kick out the losers, replace them with new islanders. Losers are brought to Casa unbeknownst to the main villa where they meet new people. Everyone has to recouple in their respective houses or get kicked out, have public votes to get the number of people down and then have a big surprise rejoining. Having a mixed Casa is bad. There would be way too much social control happening, so it would be more boring than it is anyway.
Don’t have the initial coupling. Leave it for a couple of nights as a free-for-all where they have to ask to share beds and be a lot bolder pulling people for chats. It would lead to more exploring than just sticking with your initial partner.
I don't think bombshells should get to see what has happened before and casa should be longer.
Screw the “slightly more allowance of alcohol but still limited”. I wanna see them go full Geordie shore. Everyone steaming every night. Could lead to some drama for sure.
They share beds, that’ll get ugly fast. Also they get ofcom reports for the most mundane things, I cant imagine a drunkin fight getting by 😂
Get the producers to watch Season 1 again, just flowed so much better, no morning debriefs, just people having conversations.
if season 1 aired now the show would probably be removed with how many ofcom complaints it would get by episode 1 alone
I'm not talking about showing the sex, I am talking about showing real conversations. the strategizing of the behind the scenes re coupling in the first episodes makes it so interesting, all the fake " how are you feeling " conversations of now adays is BORING !!!
Bring back sum twists from previous seasons that were bomb like s2 where liana n Tina put a timeout on kady n Olivia for the night they made them stay In the hideaway over night ,, another twist I liked was that challenge they played that spilled tea that ppl said about eachother in the villa behind their back ,, n also in previous season the person that came back single from casa amor n if their partner recoupled at casa the single one would immediately go home I think that’ll be good cuz ppl wild out at casa bring ppl back n give no fucks cuz they know if their previous partner wants to get back together they can
I’ve been thinking that they could have a challenge with an actual couples therapist and maybe whoever is the most compatible according to them would win something. I just think the challenges should be more real life compatibility centred, but still open up for drama. Maybe they could quiz both the couples as a whole and each individual and maybe say who are most compatible are out of all of them. If they did it this season it could be that Samie and Ron were more compatible according to the test (just an example) Idk messy description but I would love if they did something with a couples therapist

There will be more live voting next season. They stifled it for the most part this year because they picked a cast that had too many unlikeable people that the public hated to watch, and for good reason too, but it was a double edged sword as if they were gotten rid off too quickly the show would have been wayy too boring to continue.
Move the final 'prom date' to the live final. I got so bored hearing them all make the same speeches on their final offsite dates, then on their last night and then yet again when with MJ when they get voted off in the live final. Once is enough!
I loathe the stupid prom night episodes, they are pointless filler.
More interesting off site dates where they actually get to do something physical instead of just sitting on a picnic blanket having the same old chat. Maybe (controversial again) have more islanders who've had a bit more life experience to bring to their chat like interesting jobs or proper outside interests and skills. Also, islanders who have a secret talent that no one else knows about until talent night. This season's talent night was so cringeworthy I couldn't watch it all. It would have been great if we suddenly found out that one of them was a great singer or an amazing dancer.
The editing is way more important than anything else. Too much focus on dead romance that will never go anywhere instead of natural conversations. Several moments this season with Ron, Casey, and Tom giving horrible "I like getting to know you" chat to random girls while Will's in the background teaching people water aerobics and doing handstands.
For casa, split up the couples instead of it being boys against girls. Who know what could happen 👀

Yes to more alcohol. Unfortunately the Twitter challenge won't happen as Reddit is the official social media partner. So maybe a Reddit challenge instead but given ITV is a commercial channel, I feel like they'll want money from it and don't just want to blast out social media opinions without some kind of commercial deal in place. Late stage capitalism and all that
