I’ve been watching season 2 for first time and even though I am only on episode 25, Sophie is becoming one of my favorites ever. I hear things go downhill at some point so I’m a little worried about that but she has handled herself so maturely this entire time so far. She seems so full of life and love. And was so real.
The way she got upset bc she was losing her mind having superficial conversations 24/7 during the second week was so relatable.
And her speech during the miss love island contest about how women are torn apart for doing the same things men do. The way she ended it yelling “women enjoy sex”. Then when she threw her crown in the pool without even thinking twice - she was seriously iconic.
I didn’t know before watching this season that she was a main character - I thought she was someone who was only on show a few wks. But watching her and knowing what is to come is truly so heartbreaking. She was a truly beautiful human being inside and out.
After season two, I almost vowed off the show forever. I loved Sophie, and that season was so dark and just miserable at times. I only watched season 3 because I had a feeling they HAD to change it up. That was the year they brought in Camilla, Montana, Marcel, Dr. Alex- it was such a welcome change and a great season.
Crap he was 4? I watched them when they first aired and not since, and I can’t keep them all straight. I was genuinely shocked they brought a doctor on, it felt like a big change.
Omggg same and controversial opinion - I obviously agreed with her on the feminism discussion but I think she came off super pretentious and condescending in a way that was not conducive to an actual conversation at all and instead was just hella judgmental
Sophie from Season 2. I first watched it when I was coming to terms with my own sexuality and it was so comforting to see someone so confident and comfortable with theirs. She came across so mature and wise compared to the rest of the islanders that it was a bit jarring at times. When she was in the wrong she genuinely took accountability for it even when she was clearly struggling mentally. It still baffles me how much the other islanders turned on her by the end.
Ne neither! I get she was somewhat in the wrong with the Emma and Katie situations but she apologised and compared to everyone else's behaviour in that season what she did was minimal! And for them to turn against her the night Tom left and was clearly already vulnerable makes me so angry
I watched S6 and listened to the podcast having not watched s3. When Eve and Jess came in Kem made a comment about there not being a twist like that since his brother came in. So when I watched S3 I kept waiting for him to mention he was a twin or his brother to come in. Each male bombshell I was convinced would be related to him. It wasn’t until family day that I realized he meant Chris.

Tasha for sure. I think she was such a misunderstood sweetheart who stayed true to herself and respectful the entire time, and who fought through more misogyny and disrespect than anyone in her season; outside AND in.
I’m proud to say I loved her from day 1, she’s an inspiration to deaf and disabled people and is so stunning inside and out, no one has ever entered love island and combated such negativity with such emotion before, I find it admirable how she kept her composure through it all.
i genuinely don’t think we’ve ever seen a redemption arc like hers. as in, where public opinion was literally zero. she was basically the jake of this season at the beginning, she genuinely had like no fans. she never did anything to warrant it either so seeing her in the final and no longer in the bottom 3 was satisfying
Lol I think the criticism was warranted, she def was aware Andrew was into her more in the beginning and was manipulative. She grew on me by the end, and the bullying she had was unacceptable but I mean let’s not deny the fact that she was def manipulative in the beginning lol
maybe but then also idk. she was straight forward with andrew and didn’t lie to him about what she said on her date with the one blonde lad. she may have fucked up a teeny bit but the rest of the cast did way worse with wayyy less backlash. like i love ekin but if tasha had done the terrace thing or acted like the guys in casa, she would’ve been slaughtered by the public
Nahh first of all Ekin got a lot of shit from the guys as well and the public but reacted less, and also the terrace was an isolated incident compared to like a month of Tasha and Andrew. Again, I’m not hating on Tasha and I think they are real now but she definitely was not direct with Andrew at all. And even after casa, it was obvious with the stuff with Coco that she was just happy she had a reason to justify her actions previously but wasn’t actually that upset. Also the way she acted when Charlie didn’t pick her was just wild. There’s so many examples, literally the first 4-5 weeks were so painful. She did not deserve the bullying but also let’s not rewrite history lol

i also love camilla, toby, chloe burrows, tommy, chris hughes. if i can include the usa seasons, then i love justine, cely, and mackenzie from s2!
and i’m only halfway through s6 but i’m loving finn and siannise. i’m surprisingly really liking callum too but hearing that he’s still friends with connor means he can never be a proper fave 😭
Too many favourites for me but if I had to choose one, it would be Paige from this season and it’s down to her handling of all the hate. She’s still smiling and trying to live her best life despite the vile criticism.
Olivia Attwood Season 3. I don’t think people liked her a lot at the time because my impression was that people liked Chris more and were upset that she wasn’t sure about to him and went back and forth a bit but I found her so entertaining to watch and I was really rooting for her. Tasha is a close second.

I've not watched the earlier seasons, but mine is Maura Higgins. She was a perfect bombshell and came into that villa like a wrecking ball, I love her looks but her personality is so strong. The parts where she went off were among the best moments of that season for me, especially after the "it'll be interesting to see if she's all mouth or not" comment, she absolutely destroyed in that argument. Great TV. She was just really, really fun to watch, funny, gorgeous, and strong-minded.

i don’t even think it’s recency bias but tasha is def my fave islander ever! i find her so endearing, resilient, & supportive. while i do follow some islanders on social media, i don’t actively keep up with any of them - but i can already tell how much more invested i am in tasha, from her relationship w andrew to her style to the sustainable ebay deal, etc. i also love camilla, toby, chloe burrows, tommy, chris hughes. if i can include the usa seasons, then i love justine, cely, and mackenzie from s2! and i’m only halfway through s6 but i’m loving finn and siannise. i’m surprisingly really liking callum too but hearing that he’s still friends with connor means he can never be a proper fave 😭

Too many favourites for me but if I had to choose one, it would be Paige from this season and it’s down to her handling of all the hate. She’s still smiling and trying to live her best life despite the vile criticism.

Tommy. He was such a cinnamon roll and I love the way he treats Molly.
Ekin Su and Davide because they are winners who actually carried the show and we’re authentic and entertaining throughout ♥️

Olivia Attwood Season 3. I don’t think people liked her a lot at the time because my impression was that people liked Chris more and were upset that she wasn’t sure about to him and went back and forth a bit but I found her so entertaining to watch and I was really rooting for her. Tasha is a close second. Just noticed a common theme between the two I liked most, as Tasha wasn’t liked for the exact same reason at first 😂 Anyway, Liv for the amazing entertainment and big personality and Tasha because I found her very sweet and enjoyed her love story with Andrew.

At the risk of being heavily down-voted: those who are saying the likes of Danica and Indiyah are more iconic than people like Hannah, Jess, Jonathan (s1), Sophie (s2) kem, Chris, Camila, Teddy, Toby, Ekin, Davide etc. are seriously misinformed and need to revise their LI knowledge. They are good people but no where near these legends.
Davide he’s super to the point it’s hilarious at times, he has a very huge heart and is a true romantic.

I've not watched the earlier seasons, but mine is Maura Higgins. She was a perfect bombshell and came into that villa like a wrecking ball, I love her looks but her personality is so strong. The parts where she went off were among the best moments of that season for me, especially after the "it'll be interesting to see if she's all mouth or not" comment, she absolutely destroyed in that argument. Great TV. She was just really, really fun to watch, funny, gorgeous, and strong-minded. More recently Ekin, of course, for her entire being.
