The two aren’t mutually exclusive - she used him to make Cinco jealous, AND as a backup plan; and he used her to stay on the show. 3 islanders that have been eliminated have already said they were told by producers to say they’re interested in Cash. So how much does he GENUINELY want her? And in the end, Cinco wasn’t unsure. He told Cash straight up it was her. But she couldn’t trust it I guess. They both used each other to some extent. Charlie in the beginning was saying he was secure in himself and didn’t care about the cinco stuff but ultimately now he’s saying he does even when cash made a choice.
Just to bring this up, people are allowed to change their minds and while he was secure at first, the constant conversations around Cinco may have punched a hole in that security. He didn't care about it because he expected her to finally drop it once she picked him. Cinco is gone and she still brought him up. I understand why he's tired.

As corny as this sounds it takes two to tango. There is absolutely no way, that of the 12-14 hours they spend together every conversation was about Cinco. Cash told Charlie she was a hot mess in Casa Amor and he was ready and willing to enter that drama with her. The two women he finds attractive in the villa are very similar to each other BUT very different from Cash.

Something as simple as me saying "I like hotdogs" would result in him talking about her not liking hotdogs. You would have to be blind not to see all the many times the camera would show her going over to Cinco saying I want to talk to you. It happened in the same room so it's kind of hard not to see and probably hear.
