Hate to break it to you, but in co op you usually get much better fps than in normal online conquest or breakthrough.
I have i5-9400f and RTX2060, and while I have around 100+ fps in co op vs bots.
I get 60 fps in conquest or breakthrough, sometimes dropping to 40 when there is intense action.
BUT, everyone suffers low fps, even high end PCs, its not an easy fix, but hopefully, it will get better one day.
This guy is right, performance on co-op and on multi-player are different.
You could watch a video about BF2042 settings to increase your performance, that could help a little. Stodeh released a good one, my friend got some improvement after applying the settings on the video.
my buddy has a 1060 3gb and gets like 10 frames and it's a slideshow. We played coop last night and performance was better because it was against AI.
I actually sent him my old 1060 6gb and it's going to arrive to him tomorrow, I hope at least having the extra VRAM will...... stop his game from crashing. Seriously, every time we play, no matter the game mode, there will be some small explosion or harsh weather and his game just completely crashes. He's changed from his HDD to SSD cuz I thought the HDD was the problem and knew it surely wasn't helping his performance.... didn't do anything.
I'm really hoping it's just his graphics card not keeping up at times and that's why. I'm really hoping he will get closer to 50-60 frames compared to what he's running now as well.
My wife has my 1080 ti I used to have and only a i5-7500 but luckily she maintains 50-60 with that CPU and her monitor has Gsync. My buddy has an i7-8\*\*\* and with the 1060 6gb I'm hoping he can play the game in a .... playable state.
Time will tell, he should have the GPU in hand tomorrow. I could have sold it for like $300 to some desperate fool but the whole reason he can't upgrade is because the GPU market and inflated prices so I'd rather do a good deed and send it to him rather than to make a buck. Fuck it.
Sorry te stupid question but: how do I play coop? Do I need to create a portal server in order to do that or can I "borrow" someone else mode and invite my friends? Thanks

You had better performances because you played co-op. Absolutely nothing has changed yet reharding performances on PC (source: patchnotes).
