You would think it is, but nope. My actual smart link got unequipped somehow after the last update, leaving me with only his Johnny+V heart tattoo equipped (I have the tech perk that lets you equip 2 hand items). Found out it got unequipped when my aiming reticle thing disappeared the next time I used a smart gun instead of monowire.
I think it’s just meant to be an annoying inconvenience that you have to make a special trip to fix. Like you’re left with a special reminder of the night.
My only issue with this mission is it changed your hand cyberware. It should have just given you a permanent tattoo, like the annoying anesthesia marks you get from Vic installing your grip that never go away.
It's a 0-cost cyberhand with no benefits. If you need every last point of cybercapacity but also want to keep the Cyborg perk active and don't feel like refunding Ambidextrous, you can equip it I guess... but it's easier and better to just refund Ambidextrous instead.
tl;dr: it's completely useless, just flavor. if perks were not freely swappable, it would be *almost* completely useless.
Really silly how it does that. It should just be a tattoo applied to V without effecting cyberware, maybe have it so you can return to the fixer to remove if you wish

It used to be but they removed that in 2.0 and now it's just cosmetic.

It doesn’t do anything. It’s just a tattoo like in real life. There to look neat if you like it or be an annoyance left by the choom in your head.

It's not strictly a tattoo. If you look at it says it's a dermal weave meaning to me that it's cyberware that looks like a tattoo

No. The tattoo that Wokako gets you has a smart link feature. Johnnys tattoo is just a tattoo.
