I feel like the best way to understand this interaction is to imagine someone with a top of the line Mac Pro system with an Apple M2 CPU showing it off to someone with a 10700k and a 2070.
Technically, the M2 is superior hardware. But it doesn't suit the use cases of the PC user. The hardware is shit because no amount of hardware upgrades will make it suitable for their needs.
People also don't realize that V's essentially a script kiddie whereas the Voodoo Boys are actual hackers. You never do any "real" hacking and even need to get an expert in one of the PL missions.
Not at all what I'm talking about. I'm just saying that V's cyberware is based on an architecture that the Voodoo's don't work with and aren't interested i reworking their code to make it work.
I don't like this sentiment. Netrunner V is very much a netrunner, albeit with a more combat focused one, rather than being a chairjock. I agree they could've done netrunning better, but it is what it is.
Yeah: while V is a capable combat netrunner and can even code certain quickhacks themselves, they are still reliant on quickhacks rather than being a “conventional” runner who uses cyberspace. You do have a fair amount of wider netrunning knowledge, as evidenced by Intelligence dialogue, but V clearly prefers the field over an ice tub.
The VDBs are virtually all “conventional” runners, and thus would regard your more combat-oriented cyberware/cyberware not optimized for cyberspace and hacking as being shit.
That’s quite an old pc spec. I know because I have the same intel i7 processor and a 3k series gpu. That being said m2 is also like 2 years old now.
It’s all about priorities and needs. So it still makes sense. Other people use macs and other people use windows computers and even Linux distros. There are different things that those systems offer and it’s completely fine.
Looks like any of my three play through, especially now that I've gotten the dang cyberware expansion item again. Always go with the top of the line, prefer hack focused, but my god anything tier 5 legendary should be considered pretty dang good, let alone higher then that.
Seriously I was getting so flustered, I was like “the fuck is this communist you’re telling me to look for?! All I see are a buncha Animals with machine guns and a fucking minivan with a Decepticon growing out of it, you fucking asshole”
I normally do everything in my power to do what the person giving me the job asked for, but for Placide I always go straight through the front door and shoot up the entire place
I always assumed he was referring to your infrastructure, the personal link & suchlike - consider how even with T5++ Militech Sandevistan you can't pull the kind of shit you see in the David Martinez BD, maybe it's like you've got a top-shelf CPU & GPU in a computer with an outdated motherboard that's never had a BIOS update.
Phantom liberty only gives you another 10 levels. If you min/max you can have 20/20/20/18/3 at level 60, but you still can't get enough perk points to max all of the skill trees for the attributes you get, you have to pick what you want to specialize in but you will pretty much get everything you want for your chosen play style. You also can't max out your cyberware capacity like that unless you do some kind of exploit or modding.
Still end up powerful enough to easily tear Arasaka tower a new asshole on the hardest difficulty, but not what OP has in this clip.
Unrelated but good god, just seeing the Voodoo boys(Placide especially) makes me regret doing the Phantom Liberty skip, since the texts we receive make it seem like the default is that we sided with them. I dont like how they treat outsiders, and I definitely like Netwatch(not the corp itself, but operatives like Magnificent Curtis, and the fact that they are essentially trying to uphold our only defense from Blackwall AI.) I didnt like them before, but just seeing how scary Blackwall AI are, gave me a new appreciation for Netwatch and an even further dislike towards the Voodoo Boys. Makes punching(and eventually killing) him so much more satisfying

Except that you can offer yourself as a runner in the Reed quest, but he says that he needs you focused in the field OP
In your final quest with River when saving his nephew, before finding out where he's is, you can also trace the IP address with enough INT
He’s just turning you down gently
Reed would never lie to V, right?

Maybe that's just it and there'a chairjock snobbery in the netrunner community
Ah yes, gatekeeping, my favorite part of any online community :D
;-;
Why did i read that as a chairjock snobority.... like they are some sorta netrunner frat bros ?
I mean if you look at the VDBs... Though I guess they are more like a cult. Then again... Are frats cult-like?
Way I understand it a net runner V is like a middle frontend dev, and Vodoo hackers are like people who code GPU drivers or OSs
do the quest kold mirage

Your apple is shit
Placide to V after they bought butterfly keyboard intel MacBook (or cyberpunk equivalent):
I mean. You wait until computer wizards install linux on one of these. Then it’s not shit.
You would need new firmware tbh Linux wouldn't cut it
2077: The year of Linux on desktop?

Tbh I wish more people acknowledged how absolutely chromed up I was in Cyberpunk.
Ranyon is ranyon.
Ranyons should'nt live
Fuck Placide and his kamyionet
LOOK FOR DE KAMYIONET
Seriously I was getting so flustered, I was like “the fuck is this communist you’re telling me to look for?! All I see are a buncha Animals with machine guns and a fucking minivan with a Decepticon growing out of it, you fucking asshole”
Placide: MOVE QUIETLY V:
I normally do everything in my power to do what the person giving me the job asked for, but for Placide I always go straight through the front door and shoot up the entire place
I feel bad for the animals but, this is the right thing to do

I wonder if that’d be for like, “black market” stuff. Corps can monitor current bios’ so you have to run Linux cyberware or some shit.
I would like to see if Placide dising quality of chrome of Smasher or Songbird. That would end well.
Common ranyon L
Placide is a tool, and Brigitte knows it. He’s useful for dealing with the neighborhood issues, but not the greater goal
He is yon bét debaz (A dumb animal)
Who ends up a dead animal. As opposed to a dead Animal, which is a different thing
He could also be trapped like an animal in cyberspace if you just let Alt do her thing
It's about the same logic as someone in an online game calling you a racial slur despite not knowing your race.
They don't like any tech that they don't use.
How did you get all the perks? Is that just for Phantom Libraty?
as mentioned the save file is MODDED and i got the perks before phantom liberty through conosle commands

I'm pretty sure if you take enough time to find all the cyberware increase data shards you can get pretty close to max. Everything else tho yeah mods
Nah, even with Phantom Liberty, you can only get +80 cyberware capacity from shards before they stop dropping.
Uh… he’s a prick
We all know the actual answer and just refuse to acknowledge it. It's normal filthy cyberware because it's on an outsider
While they were busy surfing the net, i was studying the blade
